"Katie" Allen Katheryn K. "Katie" Allen, 82, of Amarillo died Thursday, July 13, 2006. Amarillo Globe-News, July 20, 2006 ======================================================================== Lee Roy Duvall Lee Roy Duvall, 94, of Amarillo died Sunday, July 16, 2006. Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with Jim Fox, chaplain of VistaCare Hospice, officiating. Burial was in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Duvall was of a pioneer settler family that came to Hale County in the 1890s and was very proud of that heritage. He was born Sept. 22, 1911, in Runningwater to Lee Plummer Duvall and Rosa Belle Skipworth. He married Marion F. Kindred in 1933, in Plainview. She preceded him in death in 2000. Mr. Duvall worked as a foreman for Asarco Zinc Smelter in Amarillo for 30 years, retiring in 1970. Prior to that he farmed the family farm in Edmondson in Hale County for many years. He was an innovative craftsman who loved to tinker, make his own tools and make toys. He cherished his family and enjoyed the times he spent with them. He was a longtime member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church. He was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Duvall, in 1990. Survivors include two daughters, Jean Ann Pope and husband James of Amarillo and Jackie Guyer of Simi Valley, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was a member of First Christian Church of Gruver. He was an incredibly loving father and a friend to many. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth L. Jones.
