Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Stratford Cemetery with flag detail by American Legion Post 224, Dumas. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Durham, son, officiating and the Rev. Timothy Miller, son-in-law, assisting. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Durham was born Feb. 25, 1933, in Paducah. He had been a Stratford resident since 1963. He worked for Sherman County for 8 years on the road and bridge construction crew. He was engaged in farming. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Stratford. He married Shirley Smith on June 10, 1962, in Paducah. He served in the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Barry Durham and wife Caroline of Midlothian and the Rev. "Babe" Mastin, 88, died Thursday, July 20, 2006, in Euless. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Taylor, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery with graveside rites courtesy of Pampa Chapter No. 65 Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Mastin was born Dec. 15, 1917, in Dexter, Ill., to the late John Wesley Myers and Lula Goen Myers. She married Theo A. "Ted" Mastin Sr., on June 11, 1939, in Morganfield, Ky. He preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 1997. She retired after 37 years of service from IRI as the executive secretary to Jack Reeve. She was a 60-year member of First United Methodist Church and served many years as a member and secretary of the Win-Some Fellowship Sunday School Class. Babe was a past Worthy Matron and served 27 years as secretary of the Pampa Chapter No. 65 Order of the Eastern Star and served on many committees on the state level. She was a former member of the B&PW, the Desk & Derrick Club and other organizations. Above all, she loved her family, and she will be deeply missed. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister; and three brothers. Survivors include a son, Theo A. Mastin Jr. and wife Dee of Colleyville; two brothers, Robert L. Burial will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mr. Lee was born Jan. 5, 1926, in San Angelo, the son of Claud and Alma Lee. He married Josephine "Jo" McKee on April 14, 1946, in Nolan. In May 1956, Al and Jo moved to Hereford where he was employed by the U.S. Soil Conservation Service until his retirement in 1996. Following his retirement, Al cared for wheat pasture cattle for many ranchers in the Hereford area. Al loved horses. For many years, he was a member of the Hereford Rider's Club, bred, raised and trained quarter horses and was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association. Al was also an active member of Hereford Central Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by a brother, Mack Lee. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Jo; a daughter, Deborah Old and husband Ben of Clovis, N.M.; a son, James Lee; two granddaughters, Tanna Phillips and husband Bobby of Sudan and Amy Wilson and husband Ricky of Clovis; four great-grandchildren, Kyle and Shelby Wilson, both of Clovis, and Carson and Rori Phillips, both of Sudan; five sisters-in-law; and countless friends. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter St., with Jerry Coffman, pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church, officiating and Don Woolsey eulogist. Mrs. Staley was born Dec. 4, 1931, in Dodge City, Kan., to Sherm and Gladys Stillwell. She moved to Amarillo in June 1969 from Garden City, Kan. While in Kansas, she worked as a proofreader for the Garden City Telegram. After moving to Amarillo, she worked as a homemaker and a photographer taking photos of newborns at Northwest Texas Hospital. She was very giving and loved helping others, especially children and the elderly. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed drawing. Mrs. Staley loved the Lord, and was a devoted, loving and faithful wife, mother and grandmother. She married Duane Staley on June 10, 1949, in Garden City. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Amarillo Globe-News, July 23, 2006 ======================================================================== Norman C. Blankinship Norman C. Blankinship, 71, of Amarillo died Friday, July 21, 2006. Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in St. Stephen United Methodist Church with Dr. Bill Fleming officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Blankinship was born Aug. 8, 1934, in Anadarko, Okla., and was raised in Anadarko. He graduated from Anadarko High School in 1952 and went to work in the oilfield as a roughneck after graduation. He later worked for Totco. He married his high school sweetheart, Jerrie Landes, on Sept. 17, 1952, in Anadarko. During his senior year in high school, he received a commission as an honorary colonel on the Oklahoma governor's staff for his aid in saving the life of Caddo County clerk Jack Vandeventer in a farming accident. He and a business partner purchased four Pizza Hut Franchises in 1965, and Norman and Jerrie moved to Amarillo that same year with the businesses. The Blankinships franchised 196 Pizza Huts around the world at one time. Their first Pizza Hut was located in Amarillo across from Tascosa High School, where they rolled the dough with a hand-roller and served drinks from a "pop-box." They also developed the first Pizza Huts on the Hawaiian Islands, Guam, Alaska and the Virgin Islands. Norman and Jerrie also developed and franchised more than 20 Mr. Burgers throughout the United States. He also owned and managed N.B. Distribution Center in Amarillo, which warehoused and serviced Pizza Hut and Mr. Burger restaurants weekly. He was involved in farming and ranching, owned 440 Ranches in Denton, which was a breeding operation for many All-American Futurity winners. He was a board member of Texas Commerce Bank in Amarillo, San Benito Bank and Trust in San Benito and Fossil Oil and Gas Co. in Oklahoma City. He loved to hunt and fish and had been an active member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church for many years. He was known for treating everyone the same, no matter what walk of life they came from. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Nettie Blankinship. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Kathy Blankinship, Kristy Hudson and husband Robert and Bari Riggs, all of Amarillo; eight grandchildren, Krystal Moore, Jason Hudson, Ryan Riggs, Ashlyn Williams, Beau Riggs, Chad Hudson, William Riggin and Bret Hudson, all of Amarillo; two brothers; two sisters; and eight great-grandchildren. Kelley, 97, formerly of Pampa, died Friday, July 21, 2006. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Pampa with the Rev. Linda Kelly, rector, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Dr. Kelley, physician and surgeon, was born Nov. 25, 1908, in Dallas and was reared in Miami, graduating from Miami High School in 1926. He moved with his parents from Miami to Pampa in 1929 while attending Texas Tech University. He was a member of the second class to enter what was then Texas Technological College in September 1926. He received his M.D. degree from Baylor Medical School in 1938. Dr. Kelley interned at St. Paul's Hospital in Dallas, then practiced with the Samuel Clinic in Dallas for one year. He married Mary Ann Moyar in 1939 before returning to practice medicine with his father, Dr. J.H. Kelley, a pioneer doctor in Miami and Pampa. With his father, he built the Kelley Clinic in 1950, and he practiced there with Dr. Raymond Laycock in what became the Kelley-Laycock Clinic. During World War II, Dr. Kelley served as an Army Air Corps flight surgeon, returning to Pampa after the war to practice medicine until his retirement in 1988 at the age of 80. In 1968, he was accepted into the International College of Surgeons. In 1979, he was given honorary membership in the Texas Medical Association, and at the time of his retirement, was one of its oldest living members. He was also a member of the American Medical Association, the American Association of Physicians and Surgeons and the Southern Medical Association, and he was a past president of both the Top O' Texas Medical Society and the Gray-Wheeler Medical Association. Dr. Kelley was a past chief of staff of Highland General Hospital in Pampa and was a member of Texas Athletic Team Physicians, assisting with the Pampa Harvesters Football Team. He was a longtime member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Pampa. Dr. Kelley's wife of 62 years, Mary Ann, passed away in 2002, and he moved to Fredericksburg to be near his oldest daughter. There he remained active and enjoyed his favorite pastime of watching golf and football, especially the Texas Tech Red Raiders. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Lou Schakel, in 2004. Survivors include two daughters, Dr. Mary Ann Wyss of Fredericksburg and Patsy Smith of Mancos, Colo.; a son, Frank W. Kelley Jr. of Houston; seven grandchildren, Matthew Kelley, Brett Schakel, Shannon Schakel Ullmann, Brandon Schakel, Wyatt Smith, Kelley Smith and Clayton Smith; and three great-grandchildren, Noah Schakel, Mary Ann Schakel and Ryan Kelley. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon, Texas. Mr. Galloway passed away June 23, 2006. He will be laid to rest in Dreamland Cemetery next to Lora Mae Galloway, his beloved wife and the mother of his children. Mr. Galloway was a proud father and a Navy veteran. He said to tell everyone he loves them and he will see them in Heaven. He was born Feb. 26, 1944, in Canute, Okla. He traveled all over the states ministering to others. He was a kind and loving man and will be missed by all. His body is being used for research and will be cremated thereafter. He was a beloved brother both physically and spiritually.
