Graveside services were Sunday in Elk Creek Cemetery in West Plains, Mo. Arrangements were by Smith & Kernke Funeral Directors of Oklahoma City. Mrs. King was born Nov. 28, 1914, in Peel, Ark., to E. Motley and Eula Mae Roberts Motley. She married Alfred L. "Happy" King on Sept. 4, 1938, in White Deer. She and "Happy" were owners of Schwegmans Office Supply in West Plains for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years in 1994; her parents; two brothers; and seven sisters. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Rex (Sheron) Radcliff of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sons, Tom L. King of Oklahoma City and Terry G. King of Batesville, Ark.; a sister, Jean Stewart of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Hyacinth Catholic Church with Monsignor Ray Crosier officiating. Mrs. Ambers was born Aug. 9, 1945, in Minneapolis. She was raised and attended schools in Wichita, Kan. Mrs. Ambers married Harold Ambers in 1964 in Wichita. Mrs. Ambers moved to Amarillo in 1974. She was actively involved for years in Girl Scouts, PTA and Kids, Inc. She owned and operated The Mouse Trap Gift Shop and Others and maintained a booth at the Georgia Street Mall until her death. Mrs. Ambers was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed by all who knew her. The family would like to express their appreciation to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice for their kind and loving care. Robert Kuhlmann, VA chaplain, officiating. Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Kardos was born March 28, 1921, in Kearny, N.J. He was stationed at Amarillo Air Force Base. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was a POW at Stalag 17 in Krems, Austria, for two years. Mr. Kardos married Melva Jean Anderson on April 6, 1946, in Kearny, then shortly afterward moved to Amarillo. He retired from Southwestern Public Service after 35 years, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Melva; two daughters, Judy Galloway and husband Jake and Nancy Nickles and husband Alan, all of Amarillo; a sister, Tillie Dribnack of Kearny; four grandchildren, Jared, Cindy, Jaime and Emily; and five great-grandchildren, Ansley, Lily, Brandon, Brooklyn and Kaden. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Howard Batson, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Hill was born Oct. 19, 1917, in Canyon and has lived in Amarillo since 1947. He married Mavis Harden in 1939 at Clovis, N.M. They were married for 56 years. He graduated from Canyon High School and West Texas State University, where he majored in industrial arts and earned a master of education degree. Mr. Hill taught school at Goodnight and Horace Mann Junior High School in Amarillo. He was assistant principal at Palo Duro High School from 1955 to 1969 and was the sponsor of the Palo Duro High School Key Club during those years. Mr. Hill was the assistant registrar and director of admissions at Amarillo College from 1969 until 1979. During World War II, Mr. Hill served in the U.S. Navy as a lieutenant in the Pacific. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Amarillo and a member of the North Amarillo Kiwanis Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mavis; and a son, Forest Hill, Jr. Survivors include a daughter, Maralyn Price and husband Dennis of Amarillo; four grandsons, Grant Price and wife Tasha, Stephen Price, Austin Price and wife Amber and Mark Price, all of Amarillo; and a great-grandson, Kason Price of Amarillo. Linda was born Nov. 27, 1942, in Ardmore, Okla., to Harper and Lillie Jordan. She grew up in Ardmore and moved to Amarillo with her family in the late 1950s. She married Benjamin Reed in 1962 in Amarillo, and they had four children together. She later married Kenneth Trilk, who preceded her in death in 2001. She then married Richard Trantham in 2003. Linda loved her kids and grandkids. She loved to listen to Elvis and watch her Western movies, especially John Wayne.
