Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Monsignor Rex Nicholl officiating. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery. Mrs. Zavala was born March 24, 1954, in Canyon to Chon and Lalo Maestas. She was a lifetime Amarillo resident. She married Ruben Zavala on June 30, 1973, in Amarillo. She was a homemaker, worked as a housekeeper and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother, her grandchildren meant everything to her and she will be greatly missed. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with Dr. Jim Howard officiating. Mrs. Gentzel was born July 21, 1941, in Big Spring to Redus Alton Burchfield and Wanda Mae Burchfield. She attended Amarillo High School. On Dec. 15, 1970, she married the love of her life and her best friend, Fred Gentzel, in Raton, N.M. Mrs. Gentzel was a devoted homemaker, whose life revolved around that of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a tender, loving companion to her husband, Fred. She loved to bake and make candy for the holidays and was famous for her pecan pies and date cakes. She and her husband attended both River Road Fellowship and Christian Heritage Church. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Candace. Bell St. Mr. Busby was born Jan. 20, 1938, in Stephenville to Frank and Zola Busby. He married Jerrie Sanders in 1964. He was a deacon and a charter member of Church of Christ at the Colonies. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was a teacher for Amarillo Independent School District and worked for several years for River Road Independent School District as a principal and administrator. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Busby. Mr. Woods was born May 15, 1926, in Childress and lived in Amarillo for 65 years. He was a custodian for Amarillo Independent School District for many years, retiring in 1989. He married Clara Mae Turner on July 12, 1959, in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Michie Joe Woods, in the early '50s; a son, Thomas R. Turner, in 1999; a daughter, Linda Dedman, in 1988; a sister, Morine Smith, in 1997; and a brother, Truman Woods, in 2000. Survivors include his wife; a brother, W.J. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors. Mrs. McElroy went home to be with Christ on Friday, Aug. 4, 2006. Ailene "Neenie" was born Nov. 6, 1916, in Brice to John Wesley Rhodes and Oda Pearl Lewis Rhodes. She was the fourth of eight daughters. She graduated from Clarendon High School in 1935. She married Arlington Wayne McElroy on July 19, 1941, in Junction City, Kan. She had been a resident of Clarendon and Donley County all of her life. She graduated from Amarillo Beauty College and worked as a beautician for 30 years before working alongside her husband at Heath's Furniture Store. She then worked as the women's ready-to-wear manager for Greene's Dry Goods for 27 years until her retirement in 1991. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Clarendon and Joy Fidelius Sunday School Class. She was a lover of Christ and a lover of people. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on June 25, 1982; and four sisters, Mattie Chamberlain, Ruth Riley, Dorothy Adamson and Irene Jones. Survivors include three sons, Jack McElroy and wife Sheila of Longview, Jimmy McElroy of Amarillo and the Rev.
