Mr. Lewis was born March 28, 1941, in Pampa to Virginia and Merle Lewis. He attended Palo Duro High School. He was in the construction industry for most of his life. He owned his own company the last years he worked, retiring in 2001 after suffering a stroke. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jim; and a daughter, Stephanie. Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Sue; six grandchildren, including Richard Lowery who lived with them; a sister, Frankie Bales and husband Bob; and a brother, Mike Slattery and wife Susie. Mrs. Pipkin was born Feb. 3, 1905, in Rotan to William Carroll and Roxie Sanders. On Dec. 10, 1924, she married W.L. "Bill" Pipkin in Bowie, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 1976. Mr. Vance was a lifetime resident of Panhandle and a member of First United Methodist Church of Panhandle, where he was a past Sunday school superintendent. He was a farmer and a jobber for Phillips Petroleum Co. He was a record and time keeper for the Panhandle School District sporting events and a charter member and past president of the Panhandle Country Club. He was a member of the Panhandle Lions Club. He married Ruth Metcalf on May 9, 1942, in Panhandle, and she preceded him in death in 1998. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter; a brother; and three sisters. Survivors include three sons, Frank Vance of Panhandle, Harry Vance Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska, and Bill Vance of Grapevine; a daughter, Sharon Daughters of Panhandle; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
