Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Paramount Terrace Christian Church with the Rev. Roy Wheeler and Mike Nuthman, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Peggy Roddy was born Nov. 4, 1924, in Emerson to J.B. and Mildred Dodson. Peggy was a survivor of the New London School explosion in 1937. She married Earl Roddy on April 17, 1946, in Amarillo. Peggy worked as an accountant for Manning Holland, CPA. She was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church, a very devoted Christian and walked her life in such a way. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karon Roddy, in 1984; and her husband, Earl Roddy on Oct. 31, 1991. Survivors include a daughter, Cathy Roddy of Amarillo; two granddaughters, Lesal Kristen Cozine and husband James of Kingston, Wash., and Shellie Gold and husband Matt of Patchogue, N.Y.; and four great-grandchildren, Austin Cozine, Kailei Cozine, Alden Gold and Alexis Gold. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with the Rev. Jeff Conway, pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Shaw was born in Frederick, Okla., and had lived in Amarillo since 1958. She had been married to Charles Shaw for 50 years before he preceded her in death in 1986. She served as a deacon and elder at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Shaw was an active member of the Women's Auxiliary to the Panhandle Geological Society. She was a schoolteacher and primarily a substitute teacher for many years. Survivors include two sons, John "Andy" Shaw and wife Carolyn of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Sam Shaw and wife Carolyn of Carrollton; two grandsons, Jim Shaw and wife Ana and Michael Shaw and wife Keely, all of Denver; and a dear friend, Herman Williams of Amarillo. He retired as a civil engineer from Altus Air Force Base after 30 years. He was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church and was a Mason. Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery in Vega with the Rev. Steve Campbell, pastor of Slaton United Methodist Church in Slaton, and the Rev. Steve Cox, pastor of Vega United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Vega. Nina was born Dec. 21, 1955. She graduated from Adrian High School in 1974 as valedictorian and attended Amarillo College and West Texas University, earning her associate degree in business. She married Kim Montgomery on Dec. 17, 1977, in Vega, where they have made their home since 1978. They own and operate an irrigated farm and have a purebred livestock partnership. Nina was elected as the first female school board member in Vega in 1993, where she served as past president and a member of 13 years. She enjoyed white water rafting and was an avid high school track fan. She loved all the animals. She was preceded in death by her mother, Francis Engle; and a sister, Linda Poteet. Survivors include her husband, Kim Montgomery; two sons, Seth Montgomery and Heath Montgomery, both of Vega; her father, Howard Engle and wife Barbara; two nephews, Lynn Poteet and wife Rebecca of Virginia and Jason Poteet of Colorado; two grand-nephews, William Poteet of Virginia and Brendan Poteet of Colorado; and a grand-niece, Madelyn Poteet of Virginia. Mr. Davis was born April 4, 1929, in Hooker, Okla., and moved to Sebastian seven years ago from Keyes, Okla.
