When Jim was in the third grade, the family moved to Texline, a town he always loved and was often heard to say, "If I didn't live in Texline, I would move there." His greatest pleasures in life were family, friends, farming, ranching and Poole Chemical Co. His very special family of employees at Poole Chemical allowed his work to be a pleasure. Jim's father, Harry, started the fertilizer business from his drug store, and in 1962 Jim started working with him. In 1975 Jim purchased the business and built the first plant in Texline. There are now eight plants in five states, which serve the Central United States. Jim felt very fortunate that he loved his avocation, which allowed him to grow a variety of crops from the San Louis Valley of Colorado to the Plains of South Texas. This balance of work, fertilizer and cultivation was a cycle of fulfillment and joy for him. Knowing Jim and sharing his life was one of God's special blessings. Our loss is truly Heaven's gain.
