Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road, with Robert Field, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. James Ray Hobbs departed this heavenly earth on Aug. 28, 2006, in Amarillo. He was born on April 13, 1929, in Chatfield to the late Garfield Hobbs and Nancy Aslee Patterson. Over the years he lived in Vega and Amarillo. Mr. Hobbs was retired. Ray was a loving, caring, thoughtful and helpful father, brother, grandfather and friend. He was always there to listen with an open ear and helping hand. He will be remembered for his ability to make everyone smile with his jokes. He was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Hobbs; a brother-in-law, George Alewine; and two wives, Louise Moffitt and Thelma Fox. Survivors include his children, Sherry Valdez of Bloomfield, N.M., James and Tammy Hobbs of Monticello, Ga., Sheila Quezada of Amarillo and Shirley and Mark Baumann of Carthage, N.Y.; a sister, Ruth Alewine of Amarillo; the mother of his children, Iva Jean Hobbs of Amarillo; a sister-in-law, Naomi Hobbs of Amarillo; a special friend, Melinda Badillo of Vega; four nieces; a nephew; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lanita Beezley Hoyler Lanita Beezley Hoyler, 80, of Amarillo died Monday, Aug. 28, 2006. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa with the Rev. Reggie Fowler, music minister of Paramount Terrace Christian Church in Amarillo, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Hoyler was born Jan. 22, 1926, in Celeste to Ray and Exie Beezley. She married Jack Criss on Dec. 10, 1943. He preceded her in death on Nov. 12, 1950. She later married Harry Hoyler Jr. on Nov. 4, 1953. He preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 2006. She had been a resident of Pampa for many years before moving to Amarillo in 1974. Her career was in retail sales, but her main focus was providing a loving home for her three sons. She enjoyed reading God's word, knitting and cooking for her family. Special thanks to all the caregivers of Heritage Convalescent Center and Odyssey Hospice for their kindness and compassion. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Anna Lois Yarborough; and a brother, Kenneth Beezley. Mrs. LeMond was born Jan. 6, 1936, in Paonia, Colo., to James and Mable Gitchell. She had lived in Amarillo for 28 years. Mrs. LeMond was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a devoted Sunday school teacher, choir member and pianist for many years. She will be missed by her family and friends. Donna will be remembered for her love of life, her youthful spirit, her love of family and for being a prayer warrior. Arthur St. Mr. Ramirez was born Feb. 11, 1972, the son of Adolfo and Hermelinda Aguilar. Mr. Ramirez lived in the community since 1980. He married Veronica Solis on Aug. 2, 1996. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service and also for Affiliated Foods. He was a caring father, husband, brother and friend and will be missed by all. He was the coach of his softball team, The Regulators. His favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys and the Chicago Cubs. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Adolfo and Apolonia Ramirez. Survivors include his wife, Veronica; a son, Armando D. He worked in the grocery/supermarket field for more than 50 years in the produce department. He married the love of his life, Barbara Ruth Allen, on April 7, 1951. He was enlisted in the Army from 1951 to 1953 in Elizabethtown, Ky. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Tulia. He was the youngest of six children with one surviving brother. He was preceded in death by his wife in April 1988. Diana was born March 11, 1952, in Amarillo, where she lived most of her early life. She also lived in other places around the Panhandle, graduating from Sanford-Fritch High School. She later attended Amarillo College, and received an associate degree in medical technology. Diana enjoyed gardening and caring for all animals. She was a kind and gentle person always doing something to brighten someone's day. Diana touched the hearts and lives of many people, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband, Tom Nelson of Oakwood; a daughter, Amy Tompkins and husband Michael of Amarillo; her parents, Jack and Mary Weems of Amarillo; a brother, Buddy Weems and wife Cindy of Amarillo; two sisters, Mary Weems of Carrollton and Patricia Thompson and husband Bob of Palestine; and two grandsons, Tristan and Chase Tompkins of Amarillo.
