Hill Jr. John E. Hill Jr., 78, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Memorial Park East Mausoleum Chapel with Marvin James of First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Hill was born Nov. 26, 1927, in Amarillo to John E. Hill Sr. and Laura Hill. He was a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and had worked as an engineer. John was a lifelong member of First Christian Church in Amarillo. Survivors include a niece, Suzan Bradford; and three nephews, John J. Hill, Davis Hill and William Hill. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- John Clyde "JC" Rogers John Clyde "JC" Rogers, 72, of Amarillo died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006. John Clyde "JC" Rogers, 72, of Amarillo died peacefully in his sleep early morning on Aug. 31, 2006. "JC" was born in Borger and raised in Stinnett before venturing out on the rodeo circuit, riding bulls and broncs and team roping. He served his country proudly in the Navy for three years and received an honorable discharge. He then pursued a career in electrical engineering. He returned to Amarillo in 1988 and started his own auction company. He was preceded in death by his mother, LaVerne Ownby Early and Ferrill B. Early; and his beloved "Daddy Joe," Joe M. Ownby, former sheriff of Hutchinson County. Survivors include his wife of almost 45 years, Sara; their children, Stephanie Rogers Viars and husband Terry and James Ferrill Rogers; three grandchildren, Jordon Raine, Jesse Hale Rogers and Hailey Rose Viars, who shares his love of horses and the rodeo; a sister, Jo Sharon Early Thorton and husband Tom; his lifelong friend, Tuffy Thompson; his caregiver, Randy Padgett; his older children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; aunt; cousins; nieces; and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a son, Roy Scribner; and a grandson, Clint Davis. Winfred Walker, staff minister of Morrison Funeral Directors, officiating. Mr. Floyd was born Nov. 27, 1927, in Paducah. He lived in the Panhandle area most of his life, moving to Mineola in 1997. He owned and operated Spearman Industrial Engines from 1965 until his retirement in 1997. He loved to fish and hunt. He was preceded in death by a son, Marvin Michael Floyd in 1949; two daughters, Julie Hall in 1993 and Beverly Sanders in 2001; and a granddaughter, Jennifer White in 2005.
