Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Clark Cantrell, Baptist minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home. Mrs. Bridges-Clem was a member of the Baptist church. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Billy L. He was owner of Magic Steam Laundry for many years. Byler Betty J. Byler, 79, of Amarillo died Friday, Sept. 1, 2006. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Valleyview Church of the Nazarene with Larry Dunlap and K. Ray McDowell officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mrs. Byler was born Feb. 13, 1927, in Drumright, Okla., and was raised there. She moved to McPherson, Kan., when she was 17 years old. Soon after graduating from high school, she worked at Tinker Air Force Base for several years. She then moved to Stafford, Kan., where she met her husband at the Nazarene Church. She married Jim Byler on March 13, 1949, in Stafford. They moved to Amarillo in 1975 from Oklahoma City and then moved to Chico, Calif., in 1989. They returned to Amarillo in 2004. She was a homemaker and an active member of her church. She loved taking care of her family and her home and loved being "Nanny" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, hummingbirds, swimming and shopping. She will be deeply by missed her family and friends. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Debbie Hunter and husband Ronald of Chico; three sons, Dan Byler and wife Beth of Amarillo, David Byler and wife Sheila of Leander and Doug Byler and wife Earlene of Yukon, Okla.; a sister, Pauline Mitchell of Bethany, Okla.; a brother, Lewis Taylor of Wichita, Kan.; nine grandchildren, Adrianna, Danny Jr., Penny, Christy, Melissa, Suzanne, Joshua, Jeremy and Justin; and 12 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Long was born Jan. 24, 1919, in Lockney. She graduated from Lockney High School in 1936 and Wayland College. She received her master's degree from North Texas State Teachers College and taught for 26 years at many schools. She married George Stever Long on June 15, 1940, in Plainview. She is survived by her husband. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rusty Mosley Rusty Mosley, 61, of Amarillo died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Church of Christ at The Colonies with Dick Marcear officiating. Burial will be in Rowe Cemetery in Hedley by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Mosley was born Jan. 13, 1945, in Clarendon to Winfield and Sara Jo Mosley. He married Connie Francies on July 8, 1983, in Amarillo. Rusty was a cowboy at heart and had worked on both the Hedgecoke and Shelton Ranches. He enjoyed roping with his many close friends and was known as the practical joker, always bringing a laugh to those around him. Most recently, Rusty had worked for Plains Transportation hauling cattle until his health prevented him from working. He will forever be remembered and missed for his kind, gentle spirit and his eagerness to help anyone in need. He was preceded in death by a son, Russell Winfield Jr., in 1965; his father, Winfield Mosley, in 1975; and a sister, Jane Mosley Kerr, in 2001. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Susan Abshire and husband Scott of Raleigh, N.C., and T.J. Stewart of Graham; a son, Michel Stewart of Amarillo; his mother, Sara Jo Mosley Walker of Amarillo; six grandchildren, Deric, Derin, Michael, Hunter, Makensie and Cheynne; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lisa Deann Brenton Lisa Deann Brenton, 42, of Amarillo died Friday, Sept. 1, 2006. Mrs. Andrews was born in Garden Valley and had been a resident of Amarillo for 64 years. She had worked as a licensed vocational nurse at various Amarillo hospitals and nursing homes. She was a member of Church of Christ. She was married to Clyde E. Hefner, who preceded her in death in 1975, and later married Leroy "Andy" Andrews, who also preceded her in death. She loved her grandchildren and her cat, Sassy. In recent years, the joy of her life was her great-great-grandson, Micah. The family would like to commend the staff of the Elizabeth Jane Bivins Home for the wonderful loving care she received while a resident and Hospice Care of the Southwest in her illness. Darrell Burton, pastor of Martin Baptist Church, the Rev. Delmar Wiggs, Clarendon Volunteer Fire Department chaplain, and the Rev. Danny Housh, son- in-law, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors. Mr. Mincey was born Oct. 24, 1944, in Lubbock to Arnold and Sarah Criswell Mincey. He had been a resident of Brownfield before moving to Clarendon 27 years ago. He married Jo Dee Vaughn on Feb. 14, 1981, in Lubbock. He retired as a lineman for GTE and later owned his own handyman business. He was a reserve deputy with the Donley County Sheriff's Department and had been a lake patrolman at Greenbelt Lake. He was a member of the Clarendon Volunteer Fire Department, had been an EMT volunteer with the Clarendon EMS, was an Explorer Scout and had served as a crossing guard for 10 years for the Clarendon Elementary School. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, where he was the Mission Committee president. He preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Cathie Flud of Lubbock, Jo Ann Cline of Pampa, Eileen Hood and Georgi Housh, both of Amarillo, and Samantha Hinton and Edie Mincey, both of Clarendon; four sons, Dewey Mincey of Amarillo, John Klattenhoff of Midland and Wayne Buckner and James Buckner, both of Ore City; a brother, Arnold Mincey Jr. of Lubbock; 26 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mr. Smith was born Dec. 28, 1923, in Chico to Mr. J.H. Smith and Mrs. Ethyl Skaggs Smith. At birth, he moved to Memphis, where he started a lifelong love of the community, spending almost his entire life there. Harold married Bettye Sue Gibbs on Dec. 22, 1949, in Memphis. He was a graduate of North Texas State University. He served proudly in the United States military in Hawaii and Japan. Harold also served on the Memphis Independent School District board, was a member of the Lions Club and Toastmasters and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir. Mr. Smith was a farmer, an enthusiastic golfer, a member of the Memphis Country Club and an avid card player. Oakley and Lela Johnson Oakley and had been a resident of Donley County most of her life. She married Curtis Alvy "Penny" Johnson on Oct. 7, 1934, in Clarendon. She had worked at Parker-Perkins Variety Store, as the activities director at Medical Center Nursing Home and at Barbara's Fabric Shop, all in Clarendon, before her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was known as "Mrs. Baptist" because of her involvement in church activities. She served as the Junior Department superintendent for 31 years, had taught the Adult Sunday School Class, was the Sunbeams leader, served as the prayer chairman of the WMU, served as director of the Lottie Moon Christmas offering project and taught in Vacation Bible School. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on March 31, 1975; a son, Owen Johnson; two sisters, Agnes Oakley and Onnie Oakley Collins; and a brother, Arthur Oakley. Survivors include two daughters, Beth Johnston and husband Ernie and Charlene Mays and husband Lloyd, all of Clarendon; a son, Mike Johnson and wife Cliftie of Clarendon; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great- grandchild. He later moved to Amarillo, where he was involved in retail and other business ventures. Gerald was a kind and loving man who will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
