Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mrs. Mitchell was born July 3, 1914, on the Goodnight Ranch, where her father was a cowboy for the ranch. She lived most of her life in Amarillo. She married Joe Mitchell in 1953 in Oklahoma City. She published the newspaper at Table Rock Lake in Golden, Mo., for 25 years. She enjoyed modeling through the years where she had the opportunity to make commercials for Colbert's. She loved to travel as well as collect antiques. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Mitchell, and a daughter, Billie Jean Moore. Survivors include three sons, Jim Crawford and wife Melba and David Mitchell, all of Amarillo, and Clifton Mitchell and wife Melissa of Eagle Rock, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Curtis Roper Curtis Roper, 70, of Amarillo died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Sean Robinson, pastor, and Ralph Harmon, both of Seventh-day Adventist Church of Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Roper was born July 20, 1936, in rural Slaton to Clyde and Lucille Roper. He served 3 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and 17 years in the U.S. Air Force and retired in 1974. He worked for the Department of Energy at the Pantex plant for 23 years and retired in 1997. Mr. Roper loved to travel and meet people. He loved Hawaii, and most of all he loved the Lord, his family and his church, where he served as an elder. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Wanda Fay Barnes; and a brother, Charles Roper. Survivors include his wife, Jackie Slaughter Roper; a son, Rickey Roper of Amarillo; a daughter, Cheryl Barnes of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Tiffany Genn of Amarillo; three great-grandsons; a sister, Edna Crawford of Amarillo; and a half brother, Dayton Hancock of Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Littlefield Memorial Park in Littlefield with the Rev. Joe Stewart, pastor of First Baptist Church of Littlefield, officiating. Arrangements are by Hammons Funeral Home of Littlefield. Mrs. Davis went home to be with the Lord at 5:35 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, at Ware Memorial Care Center in Amarillo. She was born Dec. 6, 1911, in Weatherford to Charles and Josie Duncan Johnson. She married Ollie H. Davis on Jan. 28, 1928, in Clovis, N.M. The couple farmed near Littlefield, but moved into Littlefield in 1947, where she continued to reside until moving to Amarillo in 2003. She took delight in being with her family and friends and was a member of First Baptist Church of Littlefield. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 30, 1984, and a granddaughter, Tanya Perkins Sawyers in 2000. Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Perkins and husband Billie of Amarillo and Jo Wigley of Cedar Hill; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Grant was born May 29, 1926, in Cuates to Bud Roger Miller and Octavia Mae Norman Miller. She retired from Mountain Bell in Albuquerque after 30 years of service. She married Elma M. Pruitt on Aug. 9, 1937, in Carlsbad. Survivors include three daughters, M. Joan Baldwin of Clovis, Patricia I. Reynolds of Littlefield, Texas, and Connie L. Kalich of Levelland, Texas; a son, Harold L. Behne GUYMON, OKLA. - Terry L. Behne, 50, died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, in Oklahoma City. Mr. Behne graduated from Guymon High School with the Class of 1975. He worked as a construction engineer for Behne Construction most of his working life. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter St., in Amarillo. Mr. Hantsche was born Aug. 15, 1927, in Nolan County to Ted and Ethel Hantsche. They moved to Winters in 1929. He was the oldest of four children. Ted graduated from Winters High School and enlisted in the Navy in 1945. He was honorably discharged in 1947. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, and he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was loved and will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife and soul mate, Irene. Survivors include five children, Deanna Helton of Canadian, Jerry Finney and Jerry Brumfield, both of Pampa, Nick Brumfield of Glendale, Ariz., and Debra Murphy of Amarillo; two brothers Harry A. Mr. Robertson was born Aug. 21, 1938, in Lakeview. He married Jody Melton on Aug. 27, 1956, in Memphis. Reg moved to Spearman in 1957 and worked as a mail carrier at the Spearman Post Office from 1962 to 1999. He was preceded in death by a son, Reggie Robertson; a daughter, Melissa Vasquez; and his father, L.B. Robertson.
