Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Llano Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with Brian Ralph, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery East by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Richard was born July 19, 1941, in Borger. He was a truck driver for most of his life, and also roofed for a short period of time. Richard enjoyed shooting pool and listening to country music. Survivors left to cherish his memories include two sons, Eric Dean and wife Sandra and Ricky Herring, all of Amarillo; three sisters, Francis Patterson of Dalhart, Mary Van Smith of Dumas and Betty Gillcrest of Borger; three grandchildren, Melissa, Jacob and Matthew, all of Amarillo; and a host of other relatives and friends. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Joe R. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Schooler-Gordon Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 S. Bell St., with Jay Roberson, pastor of Tascosa Road Fellowship, officiating. Sonny was born Oct. 27, 1934, in Chesterfield County, Va. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Sonny and Lavonne were married April 6, 1956, in Chesterfield County. Sonny accepted Jesus as his Savior in April 1958. Sonny was an employee of the National Park Service at Lake Meredith, where he retired in 1990. He had a passion for grandkids, the Confederacy, Texas, cooking, the Denver Broncos, catching rattlesnakes and chasing tornadoes for Channel 10 News. He will be deeply missed by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeannette Woodruff Parrish and his father, Marion Allen Parrish Sr. Survivors include his wife, Lavonne Parrish; two children, Bonnie Jeanne Betts and husband Harold of Amarillo and Chip Parrish and wife Jennifer of Bartlesville, Okla.; six grandchildren, Kameron Betts, Chance Hough, Payton Parrish and Brandy, Dustin and Whitney Ayers; his mother-in-law, Bonnie Steward of Waverly, Kan.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.. Georgia St. Mr. Sanders was born Aug. 14, 1948, in Amarillo and graduated from Caprock High School. He worked for 18 years at Canyon Drive Lumber, now known as Stock Builders Supply. Kenneth married Deanna Smith. They were married for 14 years until she passed away from this life on Sept. 30, 2005. Kenneth enjoyed camping with friends and family, but most of all he loved spending time with all five of his grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents, J.K. and Veo Sanders; and two brothers, James Sanders and Tom Sanders. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Karlee Thomas Creek and husband Matt of Amarillo; a stepson, J.W. He moved to Amarillo in 1957. He was a carpenter and owned and operated Best Self Storage and other real estate investments. He was a Christian. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Stephen Burl Geurin, who was killed in Vietnam in 1969; a brother; and two sisters. Survivors include a son, Bryan Geurin of Amarillo; and a special friend, Myrtis Mosley of Amarillo. Wade was born April 28, 1922, in Claude to Howard and Faye Watson. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Wade married Kathryn Doak on April 28, 1951, in Claude. Mrs. Cockrell was born May 15, 1921, in Vernon. She married Floyd Cockrell on Sept. 10, 1940, in Sayre, Okla. He preceded her in death in 1985. She was also preceded in death by two infant grandchildren; two sisters; and two brothers. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mrs. Townsend was born March 14, 1916, in Coleman, the daughter of Ples and Mary Davis. She married Johnie Townsend on March 31, 1934, and they moved from Winters to Hereford in 1940. Mrs. Townsend was a member of the Deaf Smith County Home Extension Club, a 4-H leader for many years and wrote the West Way and Progressive Community news for the Hereford Brand newspaper for many years. She was a member of Avenue Baptist Church for more than 50 years and taught Sunday school classes for more than 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnie; a son, Johnie Mac Townsend; a daughter, Sandra Combs; and a granddaughter, Eugenia Brown. Survivors include two daughters, Pat Burns of Conchas Dam, N.M., and Terri Johnson of Friona; a sister, Mary Rice of San Antonio; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
