Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. today in Memory Gardens Cemetery with Bill Austin and Atila Runyan officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 S. Bell St. Sallie Bridges was born June 15, 1915, in Shamrock to Jessie and Arthur Gaylor. She went to school in Shamrock and Dalhart and graduated from Dalhart High School in 1933. She worked for her parents, who had a boarding house across from the Rock Island Railroad Station. This was the mainstay for railroaders who had a layover or turn-around runs, furnishing them a place to stay, a bath and a hot homemade meal. Sallie also worked for Dalhart Coca-Cola Co. and for Squires Drug. She and W.C. Clark raised their three children in Dalhart. In 1958, Sallie and two of her children moved from Dalhart to Amarillo, where she worked for many years as a waitress. Sallie also owned and operated the Acme Dry Cleaners in Amarillo. She married Bill Bridges in 1969. They owned and operated a Go Burger and a fruit market in Amarillo. They retired and moved to Arizona and returned to Amarillo in 1988. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Marion, Gene, Wayne and Jerry Gaylor; and her loving husband of 32 years, Bill Bridges. Survivors include two daughters, Billie Gail Porter and Mary Birdsong and husband Gary, all of Amarillo; a son, Dwayne Clark and wife Susan of Dalhart; seven grandchildren, Trena Solis and Robbie Clark of Dalhart, Grant Dodson of Grand Junction, Colo., Steven Birdsong, Connie Wilhelm and Denise Brown, all of Amarillo, and Douglas Lockhart of Duncan, Okla.; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many stepgrandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- June Tilson June Tilson, 83, of Amarillo, formerly of Matador, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in East Mound Cemetery in Matador with Mike Crowley officiating. Arrangements are by Seigler Funeral Home of Matador. Mrs. Tilson had been a resident of Matador for many years before moving to Amarillo in 1997. She worked for Farm Bureau Insurance for 30 years and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Matador. Survivors include two sons, Thomas Tilson of Matador and Lamar Tilson of Boyd; a daughter, Deborah Tilson of Amarillo; two grandchildren, and a great- grandchild. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Area Guy Vance Price BORGER - Guy Vance Price, 53, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery. Mrs. Collins was born Dec. 29, 1920, in Acme. She married Curtis Collins on July 31, 1936, in Borger. Leonard of Borger; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Juanita Lane TURKEY - Juanita Lane, 82, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006. Darrell Burton, pastor of Martin Baptist Church in Clarendon, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery in Turkey by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mrs. Lane was born July 7, 1924, in Turkey to Lon and Cecil McKay, and was a lifetime Turkey resident. She married Bill Lane on Nov. 1, 1942, in Hall County. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Turkey Church Of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Dec. 3, 1989; a son, Joe Lane; a brother; and a sister. Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Chamberlain and husband Will of Clarendon and Suzanne Thomas and husband David of Spearman; three sons, Bill Lane and wife Terry of Lubbock, Jerry Lane and wife Carolyn of Plano and David Lane and wife Marilyn of Vernon; three brothers; eight sisters; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
