Hill PAMPA - Ruth L. Hill, 97, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Laurel Land Funeral Home Chapel of Chimes in Fort Worth with the Rev. Clayton Howerton, her grandson, officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Land Memorial Park. Local arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Hill was born Feb. 6, 1909, in Pensacola, Fla. She moved to Pampa in 1987, where she was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Richard H. Hill of Pampa; two daughters, Helen Marie Hill Conarty of Arlington and Paula Ruth Hill Barrios of Greenville, S.C.; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery. Mr. Boatman was born July 23, 1916, in Louis, Ind., to Henry Eldon Boatman and Blanche Marie Walker Boatman. He married Mary Ivalene Bumbalough on Feb. 22, 1957. Survivors include his wife; two granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Elma Noral Larkan Jameson CHANNING - Elma Noral Larkan Jameson, 84, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006, in Dumas. Mrs. Jameson was born July 6, 1922, in Hazen, Ark., to Orville and Maggie Mae Jones Larkan. She married Charles "Buck" Jameson on Jan. 31, 1941. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Charles "Buck" Jameson; a sister, Clara Mae Bowen of Jacksonville, Ark.; a half sister, Jackie Howell of Lonoke, Ark.; two brothers, Sonny "Buck" Larkan of De Valls Bluff, Ark., and Orville "Shorty" Larkan of Amarillo; and two nephews, Donnie Larkan of Amarillo and Gary Schaffer of Lonoke. Mrs. Weddel was born Aug. 22, 1924, in Odessa, the daughter of Guy and Esther Altman. She married Guy Weddel on March 27, 1954, in Clovis, N.M., and they moved to Hereford in 1964, where she was a homemaker and a member of Hereford Central Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter. Survivors include a daughter, Chasaidy Cantrell and husband Clay of Hereford; a son, Jimmie Weddel and wife Jackie of Henrietta; a sister, Dorothy Drennan of Big Spring; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Taylor was born Dec. 17, 1918, in Tulsa, Okla., and came to Pampa in the 1920s from Tulsa. She was a 1935 graduate of Pampa High School and attended Mary Hardin Baylor College in Belton. She married Roy Taylor on Nov. 23, 1946, in Canadian. Mrs. Taylor was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was director of the intercessory prayer ministry for 20 years. She also taught second- grade Sunday school for more than 20 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, L.P. and Willie Mae Ward, and a brother, Bill Ward. Survivors include her husband; four sons, David Taylor and wife Brenda of Waco, Dick Taylor and wife Vicki of Albuquerque, N.M., Mark Taylor and wife Gylene of Pampa and Jody Taylor and wife Carol of Lubbock; a brother, Bob Ward of Canadian; a sister, Polly Parnell and husband Ben of Bartlett; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Burial will take place at a later date in Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver. Arrangements are by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Newman was born June 2, 1933, in Lamar, Colo., where he spent the majority of his early life. Throughout the years, he had lived in many places such as New Mexico, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Texas. Donald served his country courageously in the Army. He received an honorable discharge after being stationed in Germany during the Korean War. Following his time of service, Donald worked in the electrical industry as a lineman; however, he found a passion later in life as a groundskeeper for a golf course in Denver. He was an avid fisher and also enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Newman; two sisters, Darlene and Glenys; and a brother, Larry. Survivors left to cherish his memory include four sons, Terry Newman of Rosenberg, Norman Newman of Pampa, Greg Newman of Borger and Joseph Newman of Aurora, Colo.; three daughters, Vicki Dietz and husband Charles of Amarillo, Elisabeth Browne of Fontana, Calif., and Margie Endicott of Lakewood, Colo.; a brother, Wayne Newman of Lamar; a sister, Gloria Cowan of Swink, Colo.; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hightower was born Sept. 6, 1938, near Lipscomb to Jacob Babitzke and Edna Mae Karbs Babitzke. She graduated from Higgins High School and Draughon's Business College. Mrs. Hightower married Bobby Carroll Hightower on Sept. 15, 1956, in Lipscomb. They lived in Amarillo and Clarendon, where she worked as a homemaker and with her husband as owners and operators of Hightower Cash Register for more than 20 years. Mrs. Hightower was a wonderful mother who enjoyed fishing, needlework and quilting as hobbies. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Survivors include three sons, Jake L. of Amarillo, Farris K. and wife Monica of Lubbock and Barry D. of Little Rock, Ark.; two daughters, Bobbie Dale Kerrigan and husband Everett and Judy G. She graduated from Amarillo High School and received her associate's degree in nursing from Frank Phillips College. She married Clint Evans on Sept. 25, 1948. She was a member of Coulter Road Baptist Church in Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Jay Chisum; and a granddaughter, Jamie Evans. Fabrous had been a Canyon resident since 1979. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Tom R.
