Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with the Rev. Roy S. Wheeler of Paramount Terrace Christian Church officiating. Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Crist was born in Amarillo, had lived her life here and was a graduate of Amarillo High School. She worked as an admitting clerk for Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital, retiring in 1998. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Lela Metcalf. Survivors include a sister, June Kidd of Las Vegas; four sons, Don Crist and Roger Crist and wife Victoria, all of Amarillo, Gary Crist and wife Marie of Portage, Ind., and Tommy Crist and wife Rhonda of Iowa Park; nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to the High Plains Epilepsy Association, 3505 Olsen Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79109. Mr. Clay was born June 10, 1922, to Solomon and Ella Johnson Clay in Tifton, Ga. He married Marie Mullins on Feb. 9, 1959, in Lovington. Mr. Bybee was born July 23, 1939, in Sabinal to Jack and Nancy Bybee. He married Betty Lorene Ponder on Oct. 16, 1972, in Clovis, N.M. She was preceded in death by her parents, Weldon and Opal Frazier; a brother, Merlin Frazier; and a son-in-law, Alan Reagan. Frances was born July 22, 1918, on the Trenfield Ranch in Lipscomb County to Charles and Mabel Trenfield, early pioneers in the polled Hereford industry. Frances married H.L. "Red" Owens on Dec. 26, 1937, in Canadian, where both were active in the community, school and church affairs for the next 40 years. She served on the rationing board during World War II and was also employed by First National Bank. She later served on the hospital board in Canadian. She worked many years for Malouf Abraham Inc. as an accountant. Mr. Abraham pronounced her to be his "chief financial officer" when initially, she was in fact his only employee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Red Owens, in 1981; and two children, Eleanor in 1967 and Trent in 1945. Survivors include a son, Bill Owens and wife Sandy of Bushland; two daughters, Susan Caudle and husband Jerry of Canadian and Jan Hicks and husband DeWayne of Tyler; a sister, Virginia Brigham and husband Raymond of Lubbock; a brother, Charles Trenfield and wife Normalee of Tulsa; three grandsons, Jay Cullender and wife Doka of Austin, Blane Hefley of Cooper and Logan Hicks of Tyler; and four sisters-in-law, Alice Trenfield and Nona Elkins, both of Amarillo, Louise Moore and husband Walton of Gem and Peggy Price and husband T.J. of Grand Junction. She married Alvin Jordan on Jan. 5, 1929, in Wellington. He preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 2000. She was a homemaker and a member of Hobart Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by a son, Bobby Lloyd Jordan; and a daughter, Lenora Blanche Jordan.
