Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Robert E. Field officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Wagnon was born in Stinnett. She married Jess L. Wagnon in 1947. He passed away in 1997. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for more than 35 years. She helped with Meals On Wheels and loved playing bridge with several different bridge groups. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband; her father, Tab Womble; and three sisters Von Ceil McNulty, Marie Stevens and Dorothy Hood. Survivors include a daughter, Tana Alestri Schot of Nashville, Tenn.; a son, Brad Wagnon of Dallas; her mother, Arneeta Marable of Amarillo; six grandchildren, Tracy Anderson, April Squire, Rob Wagnon, Ryan Wagnon, Erik Schot and Matthew Wagnon; and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Hill was born Aug. 27, 1931, in Quanah, the son of Matthew and Elnora Johnson Hill. He was a lifelong resident of Quanah, a U.S. Army veteran and a retired ranch hand. Vigil and rosary will be at 6 p.m. Sunday in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wheeler. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Groom with the Rev. Juan Carlos officiating. Burial will be in Groom Catholic Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler. Mrs. Britten was born Dec. 1, 1918, in Alanreed to Joe and Emma Babcock. She attended Groom schools, graduating in 1936. Mrs. Britten married Norbert B. Britten on Sept. 9, 1946, in Groom. She was a housewife, a mother and worked with her husband on the family farm until 1963. In 1963 she went to work at Groom Pharmacy and worked until 1967. In 1967 she attended the John V. London School of Nursing, graduating in 1968. Mrs. Britten worked as an LVN at Groom Hospital and Clinic from 1968 until her retirement in 1977. She moved to Wheeler in 1994. She was a past member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and Altar Society in Groom. She currently was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wheeler. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1976; a grandson, Justin Bryce Haning in 1984; a granddaughter, Michelle Britten King in 2004; and six brothers, Jim, Henry, Frank, Jack, Bud and Bob Babcock. Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Haning and husband Buster of Wheeler; four sons, Glenn Britten and wife Beatrice of Anadarko, Okla., Jimmy Britten and wife Sue of Groom, Johnny Britten and wife Shirley of Jacksboro and Larry Britten and wife Donna of Tulia; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two very special friends, Verda Lee Littlefield of Groom and Mary Wagner of Wheeler. Doores, 78, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in First Christian Church of Perryton with Mark Reasor officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery in Perryton by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton. Mr. Doores was born Aug. 3, 1928, in Perryton to Edwin and Josephine Doores. He had lived in Farnsworth since 1949, moving from Washington State. He was a Walla Walla, Wash., high school graduate. He married Billie Jo Smith Sharpless in 1950 in Farnsworth. John and Billie Jo's marriage spanned 56 years and was richly blessed with two children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. John lived an exemplary life, devoting himself to his family, lifelong friends and his community. He was a member of First Christian Church of Perryton for 56 years. He served as postmaster in Farnsworth for 45 years and was a merchant at Farnsworth Grocery. He helped form the Farnsworth Fire Department. His life impacted all of those he touched and he will be always remembered for his kind and generous spirit. The manner in which he lived his life built character in all of us who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Betty Wilson. Survivors include his wife; a son, Scott Doores and wife Vickie of Dallas; a daughter, Julie Carr and husband Robert of Holdenville, Okla.; four grandsons, Todd Nies and wife Terri of Mannford, Okla., and Jonathan Nies, Adam Wilson and Kyle Wilson, all of Dallas; a granddaughter, Rachel Lindemann and husband Brad of Holdenville; two great-granddaughters, Amy Nies and Amanda Nies, both of Mannford; a special friend, Luis Castro of El Paso; and many extended family members and friends. Burial will be in Carnegie Cemetery by Pitcher-Hackney Funeral Home. Mrs. Bowlin was born Feb. 12, 1920, in Vancouver, Wash., to Clyde and Bessie Ruston Lee. She was a graduate of Sedan High School. She was united in marriage to Hugh Bowlin on Oct. 10, 1940, in Chickasha. To this union were born two daughters. Mr. Bowlin preceded her in death in February 1987. She was a dietician and cook for the Alden and Carnegie schools, Carnegie Nursing Home and Carnegie Tri-County Hospital. She loved to sew and play the accordian and French harp. She enjoyed being around people. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hugh; a daughter, Loretta Gayle Davis; and two brothers, Larry Lee and Elmo Lee. Survivors include a daughter, Lois O. Mrs. Whittenburg was born Feb. 25, 1909, in Plainview to Samuel Allen and Lou Vada Airhart Osburn. She married W.F. "Bill" Whittenburg on June 11, 1938, in Abilene. Survivors include three sons, Will Whittenburg of Mineral Wells and Sam Whittenburg and Richard Whittenburg, both of Graham; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Celebration of life services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Arlington Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo. Belinda Whitson, 49, passed away Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006, after a long and heroic fight against cancer. She died peacefully with her mother and father at her side. Kindhearted and honest, dedicated to her faith, family and friends, Belinda will be greatly missed. Her insight into human nature was instinctual and led to her successful coaching career and her role of counselor and advisor to her peers and students. She never turned down a maverick who needed help. Belinda was the eldest child of Tom and Katie Whitson of Amarillo, where she was born, and big sister to Van and Bryan Whitson. Belinda's natural talent as a softball pitcher was evident in high school in Amarillo and at Texas Tech. In 1981 she was All Star in her adult league. She coached high school basketball and volleyball at the varsity level. In 1993 she began teaching junior high science at Barnett in Arlington and coached select volleyball. Coach Whitson inspired her girls to be the best they could be in sports and in life. She enjoyed being with her friends every day whether dining out, Bible study or just visiting. Her talents extended to landscaping, her yard and garden were perfect. Belinda lived her life to the fullest. Her walk as a Christian was an inspiration to many. Her faith was strong. Fellow teachers, her friends and family, her church community, all those she taught and coached were blessed to have known her. Survivors include her parents, Tom and Katie Whitson of Amarillo; two brothers, Van Whitson of Allen and Bryan Whitson and wife Mary Ann of Plano; three nieces, Katie, Carol and Morgan Whitson; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
