Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Dr. Winfred Moore, pastor emeritus of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Hill was born Sept. 6, 1916, in Turnersville. She moved with her family to Canadian in 1917 and then in 1927 moved to Vigo Park, where she graduated from school. She worked in retail services for many years and had worked in the nursery at First Baptist Church for more than 20 years. After her retirement from First Baptist Church, she moved to Houston in 2000. She was a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church in Houston and a former longtime member of First Baptist Church of Amarillo. She married James Norris Hill in November 1935 in Vigo Park. He preceded her in death in 1953. Survivors include three sisters, Lorena Latham of Canyon, Berdie Spradling of North Richland Hills and Bonnie Preston of Houston; three nieces; and three nephews. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Earl L. Johnson Earl L. Johnson, 83, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Bell Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny W. Logan, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Earl was born Aug. 25, 1923, in Amarillo to Cas and Mable Johnson. He married Jeanne Pyeatt on April 6, 1943, in Amarillo. He also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He received numerous citations including the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Earl was a Potter County commissioner for Precinct 2 in the '70s and was a supervisor for Texaco. He was a member of Bell Avenue Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bobby Johnson; a nephew, Bobby Johnson Jr.; and many friends and fishing buddies. Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Johnson; a daughter, Diana Mettler and husband Ed of Amarillo; two sons, Doug Johnson and wife Marilyn of Amarillo and Russell Johnson of Austin; and five adored grandchildren, Zane, Clint, Meredith, Chantel and Jake, who loved "Gramps"; six great-grandchildren; and extended family including brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces. Lily "Granny" Wadley E. Lily "Granny" Wadley, 79, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006. Georgia St. Lily was born April 15, 1927, to BK and Anna Godfrey Baldwin in Ralls. The family relocated, eventually settling in Pie Town, N.M., where she met the love of her life, Bill Wadley. They married April 24, 1945, in Clovis, N.M. She was a devoted and inspiring helpmate to her preacher husband as they served the Lord in West Texas, Albuquerque, N.M., and Amarillo for 50 years. In 1971, they opened Maurice's Grooming, which later became Land & Sea Pets. In 1984 they began volunteering for Sister Olivia's "Angels" at St. Anthony's Hospice, where she and Bill were recognized for their many hours of service. Lily was a gifted soprano and with Bill playing the Autoharp, the two stirred many hearts singing country gospel. A fabulous cook, innovative seamstress and tireless homemaker, she made even humble abodes a beautiful home for her family. She loved her family and friends with abandon. She is joined in glory by Bill; a granddaughter, Royce Lynn Barrett; her parents; five brothers; three sisters; and countless friends. Waiting to join them are her cherished daughters, Mary Morrison and husband Lewis and Willi Bozarth and husband Bo; eight grandchildren, Kimberly Ryan, JaJa Draeger, Tina Chamberlain, Mandy Morrison, Eric Norman, Mark Morrison, Curena Dixon and Jeff Dunlap; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great- granddaughter; many beloved nieces and nephews; extended family and friends; and her BSA Hospice and Craig Methodist Lily Unit "family" and friends, her precious caregivers and staff. Billy was a devoted Cowboys fan and loved to work on his bikes. He was a dedicated father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was employed in the feedlot industry. She was a homemaker and loved the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Mooneyham; and two daughters, Carol Brashear and Janice Thrasher. Mr. Anderson was born Feb. 24, 1913, in Racine, Wis. He moved to Wheeler in 1927. He worked for Skelly-Getty Oil Co. for 38 years. Mr. Anderson was a retired geologist. He had lived in Marina for two years and was a former resident of Midland and Indianapolis. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Midland, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the Midland Texas Rose Society. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Lucille Anderson, in October 2005. Survivors include a son, Dr. David Anderson and wife Helen of Marina; and a granddaughter, Hope Anderson of Marina. He attended Lamar Junior College in Lamar, Colo. He was a member of the Professional Golfers' Association of America since 1978. He was a golf professional at Dumas Country Club and Dimmitt Country Club. He also worked in the life and health insurance industry for many years. He was a member of a Christian ministry in Littlefield. Family and friends will always remember his wit and loving sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jeff Glenn; a sister, Donna Blazek; and a brother, Bob Glenn. Mrs. Roden was born Feb. 28, 1910, in Newlin to the late Adren Phillips and Lucy Jones Phillips. She grew up in Dora and graduated from Newlin High School. She later attended Hardin-Simmons University and graduated from West Texas Teachers College. She married Grover Jason Roden on Dec. 22, 1929. He preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 1978. Mrs. Roden worked for more than 20 years at the ASCS Office and served as the Hall County Justice of the Peace for 22 years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Billy Darrell Roden on July 3, 1988; and a brother, Alvin Phillips.
