Snook David B. Snook, 79, of Amarillo died Friday, Oct. 20, 2006. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Conway and Jeff Neely, a close friend of Mr. Snook, officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Snook was born Dec. 28, 1926, in Monterey, Calif. He graduated from Menio Boys School, Salinas Junior College and attended Stanford University. He was in the Finance Corps of the U.S. Army. David loved his family and most especially his two grandchildren. He enjoyed good music, playing the piano, golfing and bridge with friends. Some of his fondest memories were golfing with his sons, large family get-togethers on holidays and traveling. He was preceded in death by a son, David B. Snook Jr., and a brother, John C. Snook. Survivors include his wife, Alice Snook; two sons, John B. Snook and wife Trista of Tampa, Fla., and Eugene R. Snook and wife Terry of Houston; a brother, Peter B. Snook and wife Anne of Yerrington, Nev.; a brother-in-law, Eugene Klein Jr. and wife Marilyn of New Braunfels; a grandson, Cameron Snook of Houston; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Snook of Houston; and special caregivers, Linda Gipson and Faith Roberts. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Jo Mann, associate pastor, officiating. Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Robards was born July 28, 1942, in San Antonio to John and Helen Robards. Bill loved his country and served in the U.S. Army. He began his military service in 1966 and retired as a major in 1977. Bill served in Korea as a medic and was based in many other locations around the world. He had been a Farmers Group Insurance Agent for 17 years. He was a member of St. Stephen's United Methodist Church. He married Karen Simler in 1964 in Kerrville. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Laurie Gilliland and husband Tim of Stratford; a son, Larry Robards and wife Carol of Amarillo; and his precious grandchildren, Tyler and Ben Gilliland and Ashley Neely. Georgia St., Amarillo, TX 79102. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ronald Joe Scott Ronald Joe Scott, 62, of Amarillo died Friday, Oct. 20, 2006. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Zeb Sailors, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Scott was born Jan. 2, 1944, in Clinton, Okla., to John Roy Scott and Wanda Cassaw Scott. In 1962, he was awarded Palo Duro High School's Don's Desire Award for football. In addition to this award, he was voted all-city, all-district and all-American football player in 1962. Mr. Scott married Darla Miller on Oct. 21, 1972, in Clovis, N.M. He enjoyed working in his yard, tending the trees, bass fishing and collecting coins. One of his proudest accomplishments was owning his successful harvesting business for more than 40 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Jimmy Scott, in 1997. Survivors include his wife; a son, Brian Scott and wife Paige of Dallas; three brothers, Jerry Scott and wife Joy and Tommy Scott, all of Amarillo, and John Scott and wife Pam of Onida, S.D.; a sister, Judy Patrick and husband Bob of Amarillo; a brother-in-law, Mark Miller and wife Fawn of Amarillo; a grandson, Noah Scott; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Herrera was born April 18, 1934, in Trinidad, Colo., and was raised in Trinidad. She has been a resident of Amarillo for more than 35 years. She loved being "Granny" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her family. "Bob" Damron, 74, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, in Lubbock. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. James Hassell, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mr. Damron was born Oct. 30, 1931, on the family farm in Floyd County. He attended schools in Providence, Lockney and Plainview. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1951 until 1955. He returned to Lockney to run the family farm. They moved to Tulia in 1985, and he retired in 1987. He was a member of the VFW and First Baptist Church. He married Patte Barnes on Jan. 15, 1965, in Tulia. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. Sr. and Bessie Pearl Damron; three brothers, Clifford, John Aldon and J.W. Jr.; and a sister, Frances Wilhelm.
