Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Grace Church Calvary Chapel in Amarillo with Bill Gehm, pastor, and Scott Davey officiating. Mrs. Robles passed from this life on Oct. 13, 2006. She was born in Santa Clara, Calif., on Sept. 5, 1947, to Jean Charles Smith and Wanda Elizabeth Mauldin. She graduated from high school in Hawaii. She moved to Amarillo from San Antonio in 1979. Her great joys in life were writing poetry and spending time with her children, grandchildren and beloved companion, her dog, Sassy. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles; her mother, Wanda; her grandmother, Emma; and a nephew, Justin. Survivors include two sons, Gene Stone and wife Margie and John K. Napihaa II and wife Candy, all of Amarillo; nine grandchildren, Sheldon W. Mr. Wyly was born Feb. 5, 1921, in Floyd County to Katherine Alta Wilson Wyly and James Allen Wyly Sr. He was a 1939 graduate of Friona High School. He moved to Parmer County from Deaf Smith County in 1960. He was a member of the 10th Street Church of Christ and served as deacon. He helped build the church in 1929 and again in 1948. He was a farmer and was named Farmer of the Year in 1964. He married Emma Lou Pope on June 1, 1946, in Friona. She died June 25, 1969. He married Lydia Thompson Norsworthy on Feb. 18, 1978, in Friona. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Beth Ann Norsworthy, on May 1, 1985. Joe Tommy Smith, born Oct. 29, 1942, to Idus and Ethel Smith in Wellington, passed away peacefully at his home on Oct. 21, 2006, in Clear Lake City. Tom was a captain in the Air Force from 1967 to 1971 and a veteran of the Vietnam War. He attended Midwestern University in Wichita Falls, and received his B.S. in Math and MBA in Finance at West Texas State University in Canyon. Tom started his lifelong career in college administration at WTSU as associate registrar in 1972. He accepted a position at the University of Houston at Clear Lake in 1974 as director of admissions. In 1981 his career at San Jacinto Junior College started as registrar. In 1983, he was promoted to dean of student services and 1986 to vice president of student services. In 2001 he became the vice president for administrative systems development. After a long, hardworking and impressive career, he finally retired in August 2004. Tom had a few hobbies he thoroughly enjoyed. He was a fabulous cook and grill master. If he wasn't designing and planting in his beautiful garden, he was in his garage woodworking. Tom had a sense of humor like no other. Playing practical jokes on family and co-workers was a favorite pastime. He never could tell a short joke. Tom was best known for his strong work ethic and sense of responsibility. He was committed to taking care of his family throughout his life. He was the greatest father and husband, and will be deeply missed. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; and his beloved dogs, Kassie and Ebony. Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Rebecca A. Snow; two daughters, Kelly Murphy and Ashley Mann of Amarillo; and two grandchildren, Brayden Murphy and Bailey Troublefield of Amarillo. Visitation will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
