Services will be at 5 p.m. today in Trinity Fellowship Church with John Love, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Holley Funeral Home of Canyon. Mrs. Davis was born Jan. 7, 1947, in Independence, Mo. She moved to California when she was a young girl. When Mom was in her 30s, she met one of her sisters, Betty Gammell, and moved from Ventura, Calif., to Hanford, Calif., to be closer to her. Mom met her wonderful husband, Billy Gene Davis, and they were happily married for 19 years until he passed away in April 2003. Mom survived a brain aneurism in July 2003, and God did a miraculous healing on her in four months. Mom then became ill in August 2004 and moved to Amarillo to be closer to her family and once again, God was a great healer. Mom loved to be around her family and friends. She was a member of a lot of groups online that kept her happy along with her family and friends. Her favorite groups were Stitch & Sew and the Brain Aneurism Support Group. Mom also really loved to sew and embroider special things for her family and friends. Mom rededicated her life to Christ in September 2006 and attended Trinity Fellowship Church, where she felt at peace and at home. She really enjoyed the music, people and especially Pastor Jimmy's sermons. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Virgil and Ida Austin; her husband; and a sister, Pat Lehmann. Survivors include two daughters, Angela Hutcheson and husband George of Amarillo and Jennifer C. Worley of San Antonio; five grandchildren, Melissa, Heather, Maggie, Brandi and Paul; and a great-grandchild on the way. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Clifford Williams Clifford Williams, 71, of Amarillo died Monday, Oct. 30, 2006. Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St., with the Rev Robert Field, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Military rites will be by DAV Chapter No. 26. Mr. Williams was born in Ohio and raised in Tennessee. He served his country proudly during the Korean conflict. He was a recipient of the UN Service Cross, Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star and the Presidents Citation. He was honorably discharged in 1961. He worked for Owens Corning for 10 years and then retired due to health problems. Survivors include a daughter, Teresa Mulholland of Greely, Colo.; four sons; Bud Clifford Williams and Billy Joe Williams, both of Dalhart, Brian Williams of Phoenix and Mark Soloman Williams of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gary Gatlin Gary Gatlin, 69, of Amarillo died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with the Rev. Charles Meyer of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church officiating. Graveside services and burial will be at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in Mobeetie Cemetery in Mobeetie. Mr. Gatlin was born in Mobeetie, and graduated from Mobeetie High School. He was a Korean War veteran and served in the U.S. Air Force as a fighter pilot, crew chief and mechanic. He broke horses, rodeoed and ranched for many years. He owned and operated his own trucking company. He married Nancy Kapp on March 25, 2006, in Amarillo. He loved to take his grandchildren to the lake. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ode and Mamie Gatlin; and a brother, Sam Gatlin. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Gatlin; two daughters, Peggy Gentzel and husband Dewayne of Amarillo and Gareen Pearson of Burkburnett; three sons, Michael Gatlin and wife Linda of Walters, Okla., Ronald Gatlin of Denton and B.J. She was a homemaker and loved crocheting lots of crafts and gifts for her family and the Senior Citizens. Nina was a member of First Christian Church, where she attended the Kum Dubl Sunday school class and was a nursery attendant for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charlie C. Wells; a son, Larry Earl Wells; two brothers, Roy Preston Hill and Willis Earl Hill; and a sister, Maud Elizabeth Smith. Survivors include a stepson, Charles Clifton Wells of Albuquerque, N.M.; two daughters, Charla E. Tupin and husband Art and Rebecca L. Private burial will be at a later date. Mrs. Barnum was born May 23, 1945, in Los Angeles to William Stubbert and Barbara Adeline Girten. Wanda enjoyed spending her spare time showing and educating children and young people about her pet snakes. She presented programs for the Amarillo libraries for many years. She became affectionately known as "The Snake Lady" because of her knowledge in this field. Wanda had a strong love of God, family and friends, and leaves that legacy for them to carry on. She was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Kincaid; a stepson, Larry D. Berry; and her beloved husband of many happy years, W.F. "Skinny" Berry, in January 2006. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle. Mr. Humphrey was born Oct. 30, 1933, in McLean County, Ky. He had been a resident of Panhandle for 36 years. He was a farmer for many years in Kentucky and Texas, owned a welding shop in Panhandle, and most recently was a truck driver for Plains Transportation in Amarillo. He was a captain in the Kentucky National Guard, where he served for 15 years. He was a great storyteller, loved to fish and, most of all, loved his family and his grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joe G. Jernigan, pastor of Calvary Fellowship in Shamrock, and the Rev. Tom Woodward, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home. Mr. Rives was born Oct. 9, 1924, in Wheeler to Preston Don and Ruby Rives. He had lived in Wheeler County all his life. He graduated from Shamrock High School in 1942. He married Jane Hamill in Shamrock on July 28, 1946. She preceded him in death in April 2002. He married Laney Porter on May 9, 2003. He was Wheeler County tax collector for 26 years, from 1951 to 1976. Mr. Rives also owned Rives Insurance Agency in Wheeler until 1992. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Wheeler, Wheeler Volunteer Fire Dept., American Legion, Kiwanis Club and the Masonic Lodge. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Jo Rives; and an infant son, Barry Lynn. Survivors include his wife, Laney Rives; three sons, Donald Rives and wife Sammye of Morton, Ronald Rives and wife Donna of Abilene and Larry Rives and wife Tosha of Stephenville; a brother, E.M. He then went on and graduated with a business administration degree from West Texas University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Nancy Darling on Aug. 22, 1992, in Wheeler. They moved to Canadian in January 2006 from Miami. He was a self- employed accountant and a member of First Baptist Church in Miami. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Robertson Funeral Directors Chapel Of Memories with the Rev. Bryan Knowles, Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Silverton Cemetery in Silverton. Mr. Stone was born Nov. 7, 1917, in Cottle County to Tas Kirk and Jennie Lewis Stone. Following the early death of their father, the family moved from Silverton to a farm northeast of Clarendon in 1929. During the Depression, he and his brothers and sisters farmed, and Jay worked for neighboring farms and ranches. In 1943, he married Mable Moore and they had one son. Toward the end of World War II he served in the U.S. Army. After separation from the Army, he worked for the RO Ranch until 1955. Subsequently, he worked for the Texas Department of Transportation until his retirement. Jay always ran a small stock farm, where his cattle and their care were his first love. Many people in the area became familiar with Jay's beef. In 1982, Jay married Ola Bradshaw. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, George; and a sister, Louise Riley. Survivors include his wife, Ola of Clarendon; four sons, Roger Stone and wife Pam of Lawrence, Neb., Billy Bradshaw and wife Dianna of Wilmington, N.C., Dennis Bradshaw and wife JoAnne of Mineral Wells and Douglas Bradshaw and wife Ann of Benbrook; a brother, Kenneth Stone of Howardwick; a sister, Sue Hardage of Altus, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great- great-grandchildren.
