Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. today in St. Hyacinth's Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the church with Monsignor Raymond Crosier officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Adams was born June 25, 1919, in Stonewall, Okla. He moved to Amarillo and joined the U.S. Army in 1942. After being discharged, he moved to Colorado and married Annie L. Saurini. She preceded him in death in 1995. Mr. Adams was the owner and operator of A.J. Adams Blacksmith and Welding in Henderson, Colo., before retiring in 1982. After retirement he moved to Amarillo. He was a member of St. Hyacinth's Catholic Church. He was also preceded in death by two sisters. Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia Good and husband Bill of Amarillo; a grandson, Jack Good of Amarillo; and numerous nieces and nephews. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lee "Nicky" Rayburn Brasher Lee "Nicky" Rayburn Brasher, 57, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, in Broken Arrow, Okla. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road. Mr. Brasher was born June 25, 1949, in Amarillo to Louis Brasher and Melba Christy Brasher. He graduated from Palo Duro High School and worked for 36 years as an industrial welder throughout Texas. He had many friends, and will be deeply missed by all. Survivors include a daughter, Brande Brasher-Jones and husband Jason of Amarillo; a son, Sean Bishop of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Maecee Brasher- Jones of Amarillo; and four sisters, Mona Sedgwick of Johns Island, S.C., Alice Sirmons of Broken Arrow, Jean Brown of Borger and Edna Young of Coweta, Okla. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Phillip Ray "Butch" Burns Jr. Phillip Ray "Butch" Burns Jr., 48, of Amarillo died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home Benton Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive. Butch was born March 17, 1958, in Amarillo, was raised here and lived here all of his life. He was a graduate of Caprock High School. He owned and operated Trailer Town trailer sales. He loved music and loved being "PaPa" to his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Phillip Ray Burns Sr. in 2003. Survivors include a son, Daniel Burns and wife Cori of Amarillo; two daughters, Jennifer Burns and Kylee Burns, both of Amarillo; his mother, Hazel Burns of Amarillo; a brother, Gary Burns of Amarillo; a sister, Debbie Maynard of Richmond; and four grandchildren, Brett, Lauren, Aurora and Taegan. He is also survived by his life companion, Vicky Heckman, and her children, Seth Wood and Misty Henderson and children Kelsie, Haven and Tryan, who loved Butch very much. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kenneth Leon "Gator" Fahnert Jr. Kenneth Leon "Gator" Fahnert Jr., 47, of Amarillo died Friday, Nov. 10, 2006. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum with Dr. Dana Moore of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church officiating, and military rites by DAV Chapter 26. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Kenneth graduated from Caprock High School in 1977. He served proudly in the U.S. Army for seven years. He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. He worked in landscaping, and especially liked building flower beds, growing roses and all types of flowers. He was a Christian. Fahnert Sr., and stepmother, Marilyn Fahnert of Amarillo; his mother, Lula Belle Fahnert of Amarillo; a sister, Karen Roberts of Meade, Kan.; a brother, Kerry Fahnert of Amarillo; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hayes was born March 13, 1971, in McAllen to Octavio and Lupe Trevino Cruz. She worked as a nurse's aide in several nursing homes in the Lubbock area. She married Chris Hayes in August 1988 in Lubbock. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Jason Hayes and Christopher Hayes, both of Amarillo; her mother, Lupe Cruz of Lubbock; seven sisters, Blanca Torres, Rosa Torres and Bertha Cruz, all of Lubbock, Josie Estes of Austin, Nelda Flores and Maria Galvan, both of San Benito, and Frances Rios of Wilson; and four brothers, Octavio Cruz Jr. of Houston, Ricky Cruz of Mineral Wells, Rolland Cruz of Lockhart and Ernesto Cruz of Pampa. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Catharine "Gummie" Rankin Catharine "Gummie" Rankin, 91, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006. Services were at 3 p.m. Saturday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with the Rev. Max Beggs and the Rev. Freddie Richardson, officiating. Mrs. Rankin was formerly of Warren, Pa. She married Ira A. Rankin on May 7, 1932, in Maryville, N.Y. He preceded her in death in 2000. Mrs. Rankin assisted her daughter and son-in-law with Life Challenge for five years, where she served as a seamstress and Grandma to everybody. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Maxine Reinard, in 1997. Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Dunstan and husband Robert of Amarillo; five granddaughters; and two grandsons. Joe Schultz officiating. Arrangements are by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mr. Walser was born Oct. 21, 1909, in the Prairie View Community near Chillicothe, the son of Charles and Sara Walser. His family moved to Summerfield when he was 7 years old. He graduated from Hereford High School in 1928, and attended Texas Tech University and West Texas State University. He married Rebecca Glenn Curry on Sept. 17, 1932, in Clovis, N.M. Mr. Walser farmed and raised cattle in Summerfield until his retirement in 1995. Mr. Walser was a 50-year member of Hereford Masonic Lodge No. 849 AF&AM, a member of the Oasis Shrine Club, a member of the Khiva Shriners, a member of the Scottish rite, a deacon of Summerfield Baptist Church for many years and a member of Hereford First Baptist Church. He enjoyed traveling in his life, having visited several countries in Europe, Switzerland, France, Japan and Hawaii. Mr. Walser's advice for life's challenges is, "Don't give up." He was preceded in death by his wife; a son; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Rentfro was born Jan. 24, 1933, to Milton and Jewel Walker Henderson. On Jan. 28, 1955, she married Jerry Rentfro in Amarillo. She had been a resident of Channing for 52 years and was a 50-year member of First Baptist Church. She loved her bridge club and cherished her grandchildren and friends.
