Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Warford-Walker Mortuary Chapel, 509 N. Hughes St., with the Rev. B.F. Roberts, pastor of Shiloh Cathedral of Praise, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Jerry DeWayne Hopson was born Sept. 13, 1958, in Amarillo. He attended public schools in Amarillo and was a 1976 graduate. He was employed in the maintenance department of Heritage Nursing Center. Survivors include his mother, Florida Hopson of Amarillo; two daughters, Jessica Hopson and Tiffany Hopson, both of Dallas; a sister, Velinda Hood of Amarillo; and two brothers, Jimmy Ray Hopson and Perry Nathaniel Hopson, both of Amarillo. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Don E. Davis Don E. Davis, 82, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Eugene White officiating. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Davis was born Oct. 20, 1924, in Elk City, Okla., and grew up in Quanah. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He worked for the Federal Aviation Administration until his retirement in 1984. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing in the New Mexico and Colorado mountains. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include two grandchildren, Dub Austin of Austin and Denise McDowell and husband Randy of Amarillo; and a great-grandchild, Brianne McDowell of Amarillo. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Ted was born Jan. 18, 1940, in Prichett, Colo., and moved to Amarillo in 1960. He served in the U.S. Marines as well as the Air Force Reserves. He married Wanda Williams on Sept. 30, 1960, in Amarillo. He had been an outside salesman for Austin Distributing since 1977. He loved his job and loved his customers. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed making golf clubs. He had been a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church for 24 years, and served as president of his Sunday school class. He loved life, and especially loved being "Pa Pa" to his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Edith Briscoe; a sister, Treva Jones; and a brother, Lewis Briscoe. Survivors include his wife, Wanda; a son, Greg Briscoe of Dallas; three daughters, Kim Rule of Plano and Misty Thornberry and Teresa Baker and fiance Tony DeAlessio, all of Amarillo; his twin brother, Ed Briscoe of Amarillo; three sisters, Ruth Ray of Williston, N.D., and Freda McMurray and Alice Boyd, both of Dumas; seven granddaughters; and a great-granddaughter. Mrs. Greer worked as a clerk at Levine's and had also worked at the Greyhound Bus Co. She was active in genealogy and was a member of the Genealogical Society. She was also a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. She married B.J. Greer in May 1947 in Amarillo. She was preceded in death by a brother; a sister; and two granddaughters. Mrs. Wilhite was born Aug. 15, 1920, to Joe and Nona Hollis McLaughlin in the Cherokee Strip of Oklahoma. She attended various schools in New Mexico and Texas where she graduated from Amarillo High School. She married Ray Conner in 1936, and one child was born of that marriage. She married J.C. Wilhite on Nov. 29, 1946. Mrs. Wilhite retired from Sears and later from Nunn Electric. She had been a member of Baptist church all her life and of Trinity Baptist Church for the last eight years. She loved the Lord, and spent many hours in the service to Him. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C.; her parents; five brothers, Andrew, Jack, Joe, Albert and Laurence McLaughlin; a stepson, Merwin Wilhite; and a great-granddaughter, Lyndsey Taylor Dennis. Mrs. Mullins graduated from high school in Pie Flats, Okla., and had been a resident of Amarillo since 1956. She married H. A. Mullins on Dec. 24, 1941, in Cheyenne, Okla. She was preceded in death by her husband, H.A. Mullins, on Jan. 10, 2002; her father, F.A. Waters, in 1971; her mother, Margaret Waters, in 1972; a sister, Francis Dirickson; and a brother, L.F. Waters. Mrs. Mayfield was born Feb. 9, 1932, in Ochiltree County, and lived in the area all her life. She was a 1949 graduate of Perrryton High School and attended West Texas State University in Canyon. She worked in the Ochiltree County Sheriff's Office after college and met and married John Stephen Mayfield, who was the Ochiltree Chamber of Commerce executive, on Nov. 22, 1952, in Perryton. He died on Oct. 8, 2002. They had a successful real estate business, Mayfield Real Estate in Perryton, for more than 30 years. Mrs. Mayfield was a homemaker who had a long and successful life as a wife, mother and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Harrison and Leona Vaude Peckenpaugh; and a granddaughter, Haley Hammerbeck. She moved to Spearman, where she loved to play bridge and cook for her family. She was a member of the Presbyterian church in Spearman, and also attended First United Methodist Church in Spearman. She was also active in the Texas Groundwater Association, along with her husband. He farmed for several years in and around Hereford. After that he worked in construction business all over Texas and settled in Fort Worth. He was currently employed as superintendent for FBE, Construction Co. of Fort Worth. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmar and Fern Sigle; and a son, Johnny Brent Sigle. She loved to fish for trout, do crafts, use the computer and pick wild blackberries, and she loved flowers and cats.
