Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Church of Christ in Gilmer with David Lough of University Church of Christ in Canyon officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Gilmer by Croley Funeral Home. Local arrangements are by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mrs. Thweatt was born July 12, 1936, in Simpsonville to Jerry and Maggie Dean. She was a 1953 graduate of Union Hill High School. She married Harry Thweatt of Dallas on Nov. 7, 1959. With their children, they lived in Dallas, Denver, Medina, Ohio, Fairview, Oakwood and Canyon. She was a member of University Church of Christ and Ladies Bible Class, the Red Hat Club and the Extension Education Club (EEC). Survivors include her husband, Harry; a daughter, Laura Hamilton of Amarillo; two sons, Gary Thweatt of Plano and Ronald Thweatt and wife Romaine of Sturtevant, Wis.; four grandchildren, Jillian and Caroline Hamilton and Christopher and Carson Thweatt; three brothers, John Edward Dean, Everett Dean and Bill Dean, all of Gilmer; and three sisters, Winnie Kennedy of Gladewater, Rose Thacker of Gilmer and Margie Mangum of McKinney. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jeff Barclay Jeff Barclay, 29, formerly of Amarillo, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2006. Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday in Central Church of Christ with Dick Marcear officiating. Memorial services were Wednesday in the J. Edgar Hoover Building in Washington, D.C. Burial was in Llano Cemetery by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Jeff was born Nov. 10, 1977, in Amarillo, and was raised here. He attended Wolflin Elementary School and Austin Middle School, and graduated from Tascosa High School in 1996. While at Tascosa, he was on the wrestling team. He was involved in Scouting since he was 9 years old, and attained the rank of Eagle Scout in 1996. He attended Amarillo College before joining the U.S. Navy. While in the Navy, he served on the USS Lake Champlain. He married Dorothy Davis on Oct. 18, 2003, in Amarillo. They moved from Amarillo to Charles Town, W.Va., in 2004. He was a network engineer for Caci International out of Washington, D.C., officing in the J. Edgar Hoover Building. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Charles Town; two sons, Bryndan Barclay and Joseph Barclay; his parents, Rick and Judi Barclay of Amarillo; a sister, Betsy Silva of Amarillo; a brother, Jon Barclay of Gulf Port, Miss.; and his grandparents, Everett and Astor Stevens of Amarillo. Dunavant, 68, formerly of Amarillo, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, in Bella Vista, Ark. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Paramount Terrace Christian Church with the Rev. Roy Wheeler and the Rev. Ron Kohler officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Ken was born Feb. 20, 1938, in Floydada to Joseph and Carlene Dunavant. He grew up in Amarillo and graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1956. He married Sybil Baird in 1961, and they were married for 35 years. He served in the U.S. Army and the National Guard. After serving, he earned an associate degree from Amarillo College and a bachelor of science degree from West Texas State University. Ken worked for many years at Cal Farley's Boys Ranch. He recently retired after 27 years of working for Robert Madden, Inc., in a career he absolutely loved. He was a loving husband and father and known for his great smile. He was a longtime member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church and attended Bella Vista Christian Church as long as his health permitted. He later married Carol Freeman. After retirement, they made their home in Bella Vista, Ark. A special thanks to Sandra Reynolds, Carol's sister for her help in the final days. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sybil, and his parents. Survivors include his wife, Carol; a son, Michael Dunavant and wife Connie of Amarillo; a daughter, Stacy Lee and husband John of Dallas; a sister, Dorris Ford and husband Roy of Amarillo; five grandchildren, John, Aaron and Emma Dunavant and Benjamin and Jessica Lee; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other family members. He graduated from Hereford High School in 1970. He farmed in Deaf Smith County for most of his life. Jack never met a stranger, and once you became a friend, you were his friend for life. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hillcrest Cemetery. Arrangements are by Bailey-Ware Funeral Home. Mr. Woods was born March 14, 1937, in McLean. He was the eldest son of Mary Emma Woods and June Woods. He attended McLean schools and graduated as valedictorian in 1955. He graduated from Texas A&M College with a double major in math and physics in 1960. Shortly thereafter, he began work for Boeing Corporation in Seattle. He worked there for 33 years, retiring in 1993. He was married to Jean Bond in April 1967. She preceded him in death in April 1995. Wayne returned to the Texas Panhandle in 1997 and resided at the ranch near Clarendon at the time of his death. He was active in the Alanreed/McLean Museum Association and the McLean Ex-Student Association. He was a member of Church of Christ. He was also preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his mother of McLean, and two brothers, Dr. David L. Woods and wife Fern of McLean and Donald E. Woods and wife Pia of Amarillo. She married Hank Rogers on Aug. 6, 1943. She had been a resident of the Kerrick area most of her life and was a member of First Baptist Church in Stratford. Mrs. Rogers was very active in the Kerrick and Stratford communities and First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Eddy; and a daughter, Carol Sue. She had been an active member of San Jon Assembly of God Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She had been president of the San Jon Chamber of Commerce. She had driven a school bus for many years for the San Jon School System. She worked alongside her husband, C.A. Ragland, farming and ranching. They had two children. Miriam was a lifelong member of the United Methodist church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
