Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Msgr. Rex Nicholl officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage. Mrs. Roa was a very strong, brave and compassionate person. She always considered others’ feelings before her own. She suffered with grace and dignity. She is preceded in death by three sisters, Rafaela Renevious, Paulina Galvan and Cecilia Roa. Survivors include her husband, Pete L. Roa Sr.; a daughter, Eva Roa Grotefend of Amarillo; a son, Pete Roa Jr. of Amarillo; a brother, Joe Rodriguez of Denton; a sister, Joyce Gonzales of Denton; and a granddaughter, Angelica Renee Roa Mata. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bonnie Marie Wilson Bonnie Marie Wilson, 88, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home Benton Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive, with the Rev. Marvin James of First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Wilson was born in Fargo, N.D., and lived most of her life in Amarillo. She was a 1935 graduate of Amarillo High School. As a girl, she worked as a soda jerk at Maxor Drug in the Fisk Building. Following graduation she worked in the accounting department of Santa Fe Railroad, and from 1970 until 1975 worked at High Plains Baptist Hospital. She married Hugh Wilson on June 13, 1939, in Amarillo. He passed away in 1989. She was a homemaker for many years and was an avid china painter. She loved to play bridge, call square dancing and most of all, she loved being "Grandma" to her grandchildren. She was a long time member of the First Christian Church. Survivors include a daughter, Donna Altman and husband Daryl of Amarillo; a son, Dean Wilson and wife Cindy of Amarillo; a sister, Mildred Saltonstall of Oregon; two brothers, Richard Whisenand and wife Jo Nell of Amarillo and Ray Whisenand of Arizona; seven grandchildren, Randy, Jason, Jason, John, Alysha, Danette and Kimberly; 2 great-grandsons, Zachary and Hudson; three nieces, Diane, Debby and Nancy Whisenand, all of Amarillo; and two nephews, Charlie Wilson of Ft. Mrs. Mowry was born Aug. 12, 1931, in Greenville, Penn. She married Richard Mowry on Oct. 3, 1951. She was a member of St. Martins Catholic Church and delighted in being a mother and homemaker. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Poplar Grove Cemetery in Catesby, Okla., with John Wagoner of Amarillo, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Mason Funeral Home of Shattuck, Okla. Laura was born April 1, 1924, in Follett to Wayne and Amelia Piersall. She grew up in the Catesby community, where she attended elementary school at Catesby Country School. She attended high school in Shattuck, graduating in 1942. She married Edgar Franklin Cook on Nov. 24, 1943, in First Baptist Church in Follett. They had three children, Darlene Plank of Amarillo, Clifford Cook of Follett and Ray, who died at the age of 3. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and raising birds and tropical fish. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a niece, Debbie Frazier. Survivors include a sister, Sherry Frazier and husband Garland; two children, Darlene Plank and husband John and Clifford Cook and wife Carol; two stepsons, Larry Cook and Garry Cook and their families; five grandchildren, Stephanie Cox, John David Plank and wife Hollie and Melody Howard and husband Michael, all of Amarillo, Christi Caldwell and husband Mike of Dumas and Coby Cook and wife Stephanie of Logan, Okla.; and 14 great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Theda Bloxom FRIONA - Theda Bloxom, 86, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006. Mrs. Bloxom was born March 4, 1920, in Gainsville to Eldred L. and Zella Margaret Gimlin Emerson. A Parmer County resident since 1960, she moved from Lubbock. Mrs. Evans operated Golda’s Cafe from 1946 until 1947 and the White Deer Drug Fountain in 1950. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a clerk from 1952 until 1976, retiring as Post Master. Mrs. Mooney was born in rural Lamar County near Paris on June 11, 1920. She married James Henry Mooney on June 26, 1955, in Raton, N.M. Mrs. Mooney loved the Lord and was a dedicated Christian and a member of Childress Church of Christ. She was retired from F.W. Woolworth Company, where she worked for 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 16, 1984; her parents, Arthur H. and Eddie Burns Reed; four sisters, Helen Reed, Eula Wilson, Audrey Clifton, Earlie Anderson; and three brotheers, Floyd Reed, Paul Reed and Lee Reed. Survivors include 17 beloved nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He came to Borger in 1979, moving from Kansas. He worked for Morton Lumber for 20 years and also a lumber yard in Kansas. John also worked 21 years at an oil refinery in El Dorado. John was an elder and minister of World Harvest Church in Borger. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Leslie Riddle. Prior to moving to Washington to be closer to her family, she was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and had been employed by Colberts, Aileen’s and George’s Shoes in Wolflin Village. She was a member of St. John Vianney Church in Kirkland, Wash., where she was active in the choir and music department. She is preceded in death by her parents, J.E. Clements Sr. and Anne Duke Clements; a brother, J.E. Clements Jr.; and two grandchildren. Pogue was born June 22, 1919, near Sulphur Springs. As a student, Brother Russell pastured small churches in King, County Line, Val Verde and Vera. From there, he moved to the Texas Panhandle, where he was pastor in Kress, Friona, Hereford, Wellington, Petersburg, Cisco and Spearman. She attended schools in Benlomond. She married Joe Fleeks on March 1, 1950, in Hollis, Okla. Mrs. Fleeks moved to Hall County in 1949 from Benlomond.
