Private family services will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter St. Mr. Barnes was born was born Jan. 25, 1929, in Montague County. He had been a client at Jan Warner Adult Day Care Center for 16 years. He was a Christian, and attended the Salvation Army Church. Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Eula Fae and Iven Stokes. Survivors include two nieces, Darlene Lester and Jeanette Duncan, both of Amarillo; and other nieces and nephews. Harrison St., Amarillo, TX 79101. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Martin Silva Diaz Martin Silva Diaz, 52, of Amarillo died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Angel Funeral Home Chapel of Angels, 2209 S. Arthur St., with Deacon Hector Gallegos officiating. Burial will be at noon in West Park Cemetery in Hereford. Mr. Diaz had lived in the community since 1972, moving from California. He loved to participate with the Low Riders and he brought them here. He was very proud of his cars, and was also a biker. He loved to dance every weekend. At one time, Mr. Diaz was an ambulance driver, of which he was very proud. He was a very good painter and was proud to be called "El Pintor," just like the song that he loved. He was a Dad full of fun, and we loved him very much. He will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his father, David Diaz Sr.; and two brothers, Juan Diaz and Lionel Diaz. Survivors include three sons, Tony Diaz, Chris Diaz and Paul Diaz, all of Amarillo; a sister, Gloria Diaz of Lubbock; two brothers, David Diaz of Hereford and Ruben Diaz of Harlingen; his mother, Hortencia Silva Diaz of Amarillo; and six grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sue Durham Sue Durham, 88, of Amarillo died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Durham was born in Quinton, Okla. She married Phill Durham in 1937 in Vernon. They moved to Erick, Okla., where they raised their family. Mrs. Durham was a homemaker and a seamstress. She was a member of West Amarillo Christian Church. Mrs. Durham touched many lives through her kindness, love, generosity and understanding. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Ware Memorial Living Center for their loving care. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phill Durham, in 2002. She worked as a nurse in Stamford prior to her marriage. On Sept. 19, 1947, she married Grady Brown in Haskell. Until her husband's death she was a homemaker. She then taught Montessori at Amarillo Christian Schools. She retired at the age of 80 after serving as North Amarillo Church of Christ's secretary for 21 years. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Grady, on Feb. 11, 1974; her parents; a sister, Dolores Jentsch; a brother, Archie Jones; and a grandson, Bobby Hays. Survivors include six daughters, Marilyn Losey and husband Hal of Wichita Falls and Barbara Propst, Beverly Hays and husband Dean, Karan Ward, Janet Barton and Cheryl Oldham and husband Warren, all of Amarillo; two brothers, R. Mr. Adkins was born Nov. 16, 1934, in Haskell, and was raised there. He married his wife, Glenda, on Sept. 27, 1957, in Plainview. He farmed in Friona for 20 years before moving to Amarillo in 1986. He loved farming, riding motorcycles, playing race games and dominoes on the computer, and loved being Papa to his grandchildren. He had a caring heart, and was very compassionate. He touched the lives of all who knew him, and he will be greatly missed. Nicholson Max G. Nicholson, 75, of Amarillo died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006. He retired from Pioneer Natural Gas Co. in 1986, where he was in the ad-valorum taxes and claims division. Max was also a member of "Whirly-Birds" Square Dance Club, Qurly Cues and High Plains Promenaders. Max married Jeannine Walker on June 6, 1954, in Duncan, Okla. He had lived in Amarillo for more than 50 years. He had been a brakeman conductor for Burlington Northern Railroad for more than 40 years. He was an official in United Transportation Union from 1976 until his retirement in 1993. Mr. Rogers loved golf and his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Gladys; and two sisters. He was a resident of Shamrock before moving to Memphis in 1979. He was employed by the city of Shamrock and was a farmer prior to his retirement. He was a graduate of Estelline High School, and attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock before entering the U.S. Navy. He served in the South Pacific aboard the USS Col A Han. He married Maria Baskerville in 1948 in Memphis. She passed away in 1982. He married Johnnie Hutcherson in 1984 in Childress. Mr. Gresham farmed and ranched in Hall County for many years and continued to work until the time of his death. He served on many boards of directors including the Hall County school board, First National Bank, Farmers Union Co-op Gin, Hall County Rural Electric and the A.S.C.S board of directors. He enjoyed traveling, and was a member of the Palo Duro Good Sam Club. He was a fan of professional rodeo and attended Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo 21 consecutive years until 2006. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Memphis, and was a member of the Adult Men's Sunday school class. Survivors include his wife, Johnnie; two daughters, Brenda Grace and husband David of Anton and Cindy Walker and husband Gary of Lubbock; two stepsons, Ed Hutcherson of Canyon and Dick Hutcherson and wife Monica of Memphis; a sister, L.B. She grew up in Miami, Texas, often playing the piano for First United Methodist Church. Myles attended the Hockaday School her junior and senior years, and graduated cum laude in 1956. After graduation she attended Oklahoma State University, and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. In 1958, she married Francis Herbert "Butch" McQuiddy. They lived on the Oasis Ranch and in Canadian before moving to Lakeway. After their sons graduated from high school, they moved to Scottsdale, Ariz. Myles returned to Canadian in 1996 to be at home with family and friends. Myles was a unique and vibrant person. She loved music, art and reading. Her humor and wit will be missed by all who knew her. She was also a devoted friend, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Myles was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Pampa. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clark and Nell Mathers; Francis and Stella McQuiddy and Butch McQuiddy. Mrs. Vaughn was born and raised near Gage, Okla. in Indian Territory. She attended school there and graduated from high school as valedictorian of her class in 1926. She married Huber Cannon in 1926 in Higgins. She had a son, Elbert Earl Cannon, who preceded her in death. She married Erman E. Vaughn in 1955 in Houston, where they lived until his death, and she moved to Amarillo in 1981. She retired from Rice Food Market in Houston after 14 years of service.
