Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Canadian Church of Christ with Boyd "Woody" Williams officiating and Kevin Williams assisting. Burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery by Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian. Mary was born May 21, 1910, in Lordsburg, N.M., to the late Isaac Wood and Lelia Hampton Wood. She was a graduate of Canadian High School, then attended school in Fort Worth and graduated from West Texas State Teacher's College with a BS degree in education. Mary moved to Canadian in 1914 from Lordsburg. She married Boyd "M.L." Williams on Dec. 29, 1932, in Tulsa, Okla. He preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 1971. Mary became a Christian at age 13 in Canadian, and was active with her husband, who traveled to small towns preaching for many years. Mary taught school in Lipscomb from 1931 to 1933 and in Canadian from 1953 to 1975. After retiring she taught as a substitute teacher until 1987. She had many hobbies: painting, sewing, crafts, poetry and writing, and she loved to sing for her own entertainment. She was an active member in Sagebrush Painters, Arts and Crafts Club, Retired Teachers and 50 + Club and a member of the Church of Christ. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Ray, Ralph and William Wood; and a sister, Ola Baucom. Survivors include a son, Boyd "Woody" Williams and wife Nell of Miami; a daughter, Mary Hatch and husband Bob of New Hampton, Iowa; four grandchildren, Gary and Kevin Williams and DeAnna and Mike Hatch; nine great-grandchildren, Hesper, Erin, Lauren, Luke, Macala, Elaine, Molly, Timothy and Ethan; and a great-great-grandchild. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Henson-Novak Funeral Directors Chapel with Gary Higgins officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery. The daughter of Stella Irene Perry and James Herbert Grider, Stella Vynneth Henderson was born June 3, 1922, in Eva. She was united in marriage to Glenn Thomas "Louie" Henderson on June 3, 1941, in Amarillo, Texas. The Hendersons lived in the Eva community and were involved in farming. They moved into Guymon in 1980. Vynneth was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Keyes and the Eva Home Demonstration Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Henderson, in 1995; her parents; and a sister, Wanda Linebaugh. Survivors include a sister, Exie Hays of Guymon; her twin brother, Kenneth Grider of Altus; a brother, Gay Grider of Spavinaw; a niece, Diann Crawford of Spearman, Texas; and a nephew, Mike Hays of the Eva community, and their families. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Christian Church in Stinnett with the Rev. Marty Hamrick of Polk Street United Methodist Church in Amarillo officiating. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. Richmond was born April 21, 1927, in Amarillo. She graduated from Stinnett High School in 1946. While working at Zale's Jewelry in Borger, Billie met Jimmy N. Richmond, whom she married in 1948. Mrs. Richmond was a devoted wife who raised four children and enjoyed taking part in their lives by being room mother, Cub Scout den mother, Sunday school and Vacation Bible School teacher and taxi driver for piano lessons, soccer, bowling, baseball, speech therapy, Girl Scouts and the Friday night movies. She was well-known for large family gatherings in her home by the swimming pool, Christmas tree and dinner table. Billie loved staying at her Galveston beach home, where she enjoyed beachcombing and fishing on the bay. She was a member of the Amarillo chapter of the DAR and Colonial Dames and a member of First Methodist Church in Richardson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Bea Turner of Stinnett; and her husband, Jimmy N. Richmond. Survivors include two sons, Neal Richmond of Dallas and J. Pat Richmond and wife Vicky of Amarillo; two daughters, Karon Franklin and husband Scott of Dallas and Paula Reese and husband Ringo Gause of Richardson; four grandchildren U.S. Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class J. Melissa Kay Haggard, 45, of Wichita Falls began her journey with the Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006. Melissa was born Jan. 4, 1961, in Dumas to Clifford and Alice Ellison. She was raised in Stratford, and resided in Wichita Falls the past 13 years. She was a devoted Christian wife, mother and grandmother. She was employed as office manager for Dr. Tom Curran, DDS. She was a member of Lamar Baptist Church where she served on various committees and helped in the nursery and children's Sunday school. She married Eddie Haggard on June 30, 1979, in Stratford. They had two beautiful children, Chaundra McWhorter of Tokyo and Brenton Haggard of Graham. She was a second mother to Eddie's daughter, Michele Swart of Stratford. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Alice Ellison; and a sister, Vicki Murphey. Survivors include her husband, Eddie Haggard; a daughter, Chaundra McWhorter and husband Chris; a son, Brenton Haggard; a step-daughter Michele Swart of Stratford; a brother, Floyd "Butch" Ellison of Stratford; a sister, Terry Ellison of Amarillo; and two grandchildren.
