Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Lennie McCay of Hillside Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery. Cassandra Kuykendall was born Jan. 24, 1991, in Amarillo. She finally won. She's well. After 15 years fighting CP, microcephaly, pneumonia, scoliosis, etc., she can finally breathe without supplemental oxygen, sit up without a TLSO and pillows, stand without AFOs and her standing frame, get around without her wheelchair. No more accessible vans or hunting for a ramp. She no longer has to have breathing treatments or vest vibrations. She can take a long, hot bath without her bath chair or lift to get in and out. When she's through she can brush that long beautiful hair all by herself. She can now talk with all her friends she has visited for so long. She no longer has to breathe or eat through a tube. No feeding pump will ever wake her up again because she can eat what she wants. She got a new body and it all works just like it should. We are so grateful for the healing hands of our God. Sometimes he heals the fragile temporary tents we live in here and sometimes it just makes more sense to just replace it with a brand new mansion. Cassie got hers, but we have to wait a while, ours isn't finished yet. Her mom, Candy, and her dad, Kirk, and her sisters, brother, nieces, nephews and all her friends will have to stay here and miss her for a while. The good news is HE is coming soon for us too. We'll just watch for him and try to be ready to go. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vivian Lacy Vivian Lacy, 93, of Amarillo died Monday, Dec. 11, 2006.
