Crisp Raymond E. Crisp, 76, of Amarillo died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Raymond was born Nov. 15, 1930, in Amarillo to Eugene and Effie Crisp. He was a carpenter. He married Joann Crisp on July 7, 1951. He was preceded in death by his wife. Survivors include three sons, Raymond Crisp Jr. of New Prague, Mich., and Garry Crisp and Michael Crisp, both of Amarillo; a brother, Roger Moore of Dallas; a brother-in-law, William Simpson of Sunnyvale, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Ricky was born Oct. 1, 1947, in Brownwood, and was raised in Richardson. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force and received an honorable discharge. On July 31, 1982, he married the love of his life, Karen McAlpine, in Lubbock. Ricky worked for Federal Aviation Administration for 32 years, and was highly respected in his career. He received several awards and recognitions, including some from Washington D.C. Ricky enjoyed animals, loved the outdoors and was also an avid coin collector. He was a loving husband, and touched countless lives with his kind heart. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his birth father, Marvin Wells; and his parents, Charles and Thelma Zellner. Survivors include his wife of Amarillo; a son, Matthew Mark Wells of Eldridge, Iowa; a sister, Brinn Wells-Walker of Comfort; two brothers, Rodney Zellner of Caddo Mills and Jim Bowen of Norcross, Ga.; three grandchildren, Brianna, Daniel and Braden of Eldridge; and a host of other relatives and friends. Georgia St. Mr. Tyler was born Dec. 15, 1931, in Amarillo. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1951. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. Upon returning to Amarillo, he graduated from Amarillo College, West Texas State University and attended the University of Colorado in Boulder. He married Rita Poole in 1958 in Amarillo. Tommy started working for First State Bank in Amarillo, and continued in the banking business for 48 years until retirement on December 1. He was a member of Hillside Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Rita Tyler; a daughter, Tracy Elizabeth Tyler Fuller and husband Randy of Keller; two sons, Thomas E. Miss Dowd was born July 2, 1937, in Gasoline to the late Lamb and Revella Dowd. Miss Dowd attended Fred Douglas Elementary School in Quitaque before graduating from Carver High School in Amarillo. Miss Dowd attended college in California. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She was a cook at the Sportsman Restaurant in Quitaque for many years. She was a lifelong resident of Quitaque. She was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers. "Skeet" Ellison DALHART - Cleta G. "Skeet" Ellison, 87, died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006 in Dalhart, TX. Arrangements are by Horizon Funeral Home. Cleta G. "Skeet" Cox was born June 3, 1919, to Buford and Lillian Hurley Cox. She married Joe Ellison on Dec. 26, 1938, in Stamford. Skeet taught grades 1 through 6 (and drove the school bus) at the Oslo Community School in northwestern Hansford County from 1950 until 1961. She taught first grade at the Gruver Elementary School from 1961 until her retirement in 1986. She was awarded an honorary life membership in the Texas PTA in 1981 and was honored as a "Terrific Teacher" by that same organization in 1984, in recognition of her outstanding encouragement and support of parental involvement in the public schools. She influenced the lives of hundreds of children during her teaching career, who, many years into their adulthood would hug her neck and affectionately call her "Mrs. Ellison." Skeet took up oil painting as a hobby, and took great pride in creating landscapes which were inspired by memories of her youth and photographs provided by friends. She was also a superb bridge player who hid a competitive streak beneath her gentle appearance. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1970; her parents; and two brothers, T.C. Cox and Grady Cox. Survivors include a daughter, Jolinda Wilson and husband Marvin G. of Dalhart; a grandson, Joe Marr Wilson and wife Becky of Amarillo; and a great- granddaughter, Jodi Wilson of Amarillo.
