Mr. Hanks was born Sept. 2, 1956, in Sayre, Okla., and grew up in Wheeler. He moved to Amarillo in 1970 and was a graduate of Caprock High School. He drove a truck for Affiliated Foods and later for Plains Livestock before being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. He fought and battled the disease without a complaint for more than 20 years. Terry was a Christian man and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Doyle Hanks, in 1999. Ms. Hudson was born Oct. 28, 1957, the youngest of five children, in Hereford. She was raised in Hereford and Happy and was a 1977 graduate of Hereford High School. She moved to Amarillo in 1977 and worked for many years in fast food restaurants. She worked for Taco Bell, Taco Villa and worked for McDonalds for the past several years. She was known for her smile and her willingness to serve others. She was a member of Amarillo South Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, I.C. and Alta Hudson. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1964. He earned his bachelor of science in biology in 1968 and his master's in education in 1973, both from West Texas State University. He was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. Coach Gehring began his teaching career in 1968. He taught physical education and coached the wrestling team at Amarillo High School from 1972 until 2000 and retired from teaching in 2002. His wrestling teams won 14 district championships and 10 regional championships. He was a member of the Texas Interscholastic Committee for 12 years and was also a member of the Southwest Football Officials Association for more than 25 years. He loved to hunt, golf and be outdoors. He was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church for 60 years. Larry touched and molded the lives of an uncountable number of young adults. He loved his family very much and will be greatly missed. He married Marian Modisette Everett on June 28, 1997, in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his father in 2003. Georgia St. Mr. Tyler was born Dec. 15, 1931, in Amarillo. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1951. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. Upon returning to Amarillo, he graduated from Amarillo College, West Texas State University and attended the University of Colorado in Boulder. He married Rita Poole in 1958 in Amarillo. Tommy started working for First State Bank in Amarillo, and continued in the banking business for 48 years until retirement on December 1. He was a member of Hillside Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Rita Tyler; a daughter, Tracy Elizabeth Tyler Fuller and husband Randy of Keller; two sons, Thomas E. Rosary was said at 7 p.m. Friday in Morrison Memorial Chapel. Services were at 3 p.m. Saturday in the chapel. The Rev. Ivor Koch, her priest and dearest friend, officiated both services. Burial was in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Martin quietly passed away at hospice in Wichita Falls in the presence of her loving family to return to our Lord, whom she loved with all her heart and soul. She was born March 31, 1918, in Carthage, Mo., and was a Dumas resident from 1951 until 1986. She lived a full and blessed life, working at times as a nurse, raising her children with her beloved husband Jed W. Martin. Along with raising her children, she also took care of and helped any children or any needy person that she encountered. She was giving to a fault at times. She would do without before she would see one child in need that she did not meet those needs. With loving hands and strong guidance, she never seemed to tire when it came to helping others. Her life was the epitome of courage, vision and deep faith and an example worthy of emulation by all who knew and loved her. The world will little note nor long remember what we say here, but it cannot and will not ever forget what we did here, and her list was endless. The ones she helped gave her the satisfaction that she shared inside herself and never once bragged of her good deeds. She was an avid gardener and was very active in her church, Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Dumas, where she took many retreats with the sisters. Due to poor health, she left her beloved Dumas and moved to Wichita Falls to live her remaining years with her daughter, Iva Gene Connie Marie. She was also active in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wichita Falls. She worked for some time with the area Native Indian Orphanage, assisting in the placement of children with loving, caring families. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Jed Wesley Martin; and two daughters, Constance Dee Harkrider Jewell and Diana Marie Ortiz. Survivors include a son, Reed Sanders of Gainesville; four daughters, Iva Gene Connie Marie Geer, Mona Mae Akin and Sandra Casas, all of Wichita Falls, and Mary Evelyn Padilla of Thornton, Colo.; a sister, Ella Mae Christie of Amarillo; 100-plus grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren, whom she loved so very much; and a special church sister, Mary Hutchings of Wichita Falls, who visited Mona Lisa every Friday for 18 years without fail. Mr. Messer was born Feb. 28, 1948, to J.F. "Jack" and Victoria Messer of Hereford. He was raised in Hereford and graduated from Hereford High School in 1968. He served with the U.S. Army 44th Engineer Group (Construction), 809th Engineer Battalion at Camp Ruam Chit Chai, Thailand. He was a lifelong employee of Messer Construction, the family business his father established in Hereford. His earliest memories are of working with his father in his business and hunting with family and friends in Deaf Smith County. Jim married Cruse Olson on June 21, 1980, and they resided in Canyon. Both Jim and Cruse shared a love of the outdoors, spending time together and enjoying laughter and fellowship with family and friends. Jim loved the outdoors, motorcycling, hiking and the beauty of the Texas Panhandle. He was a match competition shooter and gun collector, but his true love was for his wife, daughter, family and friends. Mrs. Turner was born Nov. 30, 1913, in Pampa to Joseph and Mary Goodrum Mote. She was reared in Tulia, where she graduated high school. She married Harvey Turner in 1959. Mrs. Turner was a longtime resident of Amarillo as well as a member of First Baptist Church. She was a secretary for Dixon Paper Co. for 27 years. She served as a past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was an Endowed Member of Amarillo Chapter No. 787, Order of the Eastern Star, as well as a Past Matron of Bonita Chapter No. 184, Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of Avhik Temple No. 70 Daughters of the Nile. In 1989, she served as president of the West Texas Past Matrons and Patrons Association, Order of the Eastern Star. She served on numerous committees of the Grand Chapter of Texas Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Turner was an accomplished painter of fine china and a wonderful cook. Her greatest joy was in spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; three brothers; and a sister.
