Mrs. Ratliff was a kind and loving Christian lady, wife and mother with an integrity and spirit that touched everyone she knew. Survivors include her husband, J.P. Tucker, 84, of Amarillo died Friday, Dec. 15, 2006, in Canyon. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Brooks Funeral Directors Chapel in Canyon with Dr. Kenny Price, pastor of The Summitt, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Tucker was born Aug. 18, 1922, in Petersburg to Emmett Edgar Foster and Maggie Lena Falls Foster. She married Fredy Marion Tucker on March 17, 1941, in Clovis, N.M. Aileene was a homemaker who loved her family. She enjoyed cooking, crafts, sewing and playing games with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She was a member of the Methodist church. Aileene had been a resident of Amarillo since 1966. She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 9, 1991, and her parents. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Platt and husband Tommy of Canyon; a son, Ronald Tucker and wife Jenis of Amarillo; two granddaughters, Krystal Dobbs and husband J.R. of Phoenix and Melissa Platt of Canyon; two grandsons, Richard Tucker of Oklahoma City and Monty Platt and wife RoseAnne of Canyon; a sister, Marie Kocster and husband Ed of Sutton, Vt.; a brother, Wamon Foster of Hart; and eight great-grandchildren. "Tommy" Tyler, 74, of Amarillo died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. today in Hillside Christian Church, formerly Paramount Terrace Christian Church, 6100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Tyler was born Dec. 15, 1931, in Amarillo. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1951. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. Upon returning to Amarillo, he graduated from Amarillo College, West Texas State University and attended the University of Colorado in Boulder. He married Rita Poole in 1958 in Amarillo. Tommy started working for First State Bank in Amarillo, and continued in the banking business for 48 years until retirement on December 1. He was a member of Hillside Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Rita Tyler; a daughter, Tracy Elizabeth Tyler Fuller and husband Randy of Keller; two sons, Thomas E. Tyler and wife Gail of Montgomery and James Andrew "Jim" Tyler of Amarillo; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Tyler Hague, Constance Ingalls Hague, Michael James Andrew Tyler, Nicholas Christian Tyler, Alec Thomas Tyler and Alyssa Ann Tyler; and three stepgrandchildren, Kyle, Kevin and Kayla Fuller. Moore James H. Moore, 80, of Amarillo died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Paramount Baptist Church with Dr. Gil Lain, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Moore died Saturday, Dec. 16, of cancer. Mr. Moore was born Sept. 25, 1926, to T.W. and Mae Moore in Lebanon. He graduated from Rio Vista High School in 1944. He entered the U.S. Navy on Aug. 31 1944, and was discharged on Sept. 22, 1947, as a motor machinist mate. He served honorably in the Pacific Theater in World War II. James Moore never wavered in his faith and love of Jesus. He was an active member of Paramount Baptist Church, where he volunteered, worked in benevolence and taught Sunday school for many years James Moore married Norma Lou Crook on Dec. 13, 1947, in Fort Worth. They were blessed with 59 years of marriage. Mr. Moore retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. with 39 years of service. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Darla Nell Henderson of Round Rock and Janet Lynn Perry of Rio Rancho, N.M.; two sisters, Laura Elizabeth Nickell of Irving and Marylea Schellenburg of Cleburne; and two brothers, T.W. Moore of Arlington and Ed M. Moore of Carrollton. Survivors include his wife, and two daughters, Deanna Beth Severance and husband Carlton of La Quinta, Calif., and Gayla Ann Seymour of Amarillo. He loved his grandchildren, Greg Henderson of Bedford, Cressa Henderson of Dallas, Windy Brown of Albuquerque, N.M., Sarah Sebestyen of Winchester, Ky., Kevin Johnson of Nacogdoches and Jimmy Lee Seymour III and Josh Seymour, both of Amarillo. Davis, 82, of Amarillo died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in South Georgia Baptist Church with Bob Miller officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Davis was born July 21, 1924, in Clarendon to Frank and Olla Davis. He moved to Amarillo in 1939 from Hedley. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1943 and served in World War II on the S.S. Juan Falco Brown, the S.S. William T. Sherman and the S.S. Dolly Madison and was discharged in 1946. After his discharge, he returned to Amarillo and went to work for Amarillo Gas and retired from Energas after more than 40 years of service. He married Lilah Eastham in 1948. She preceded him in death in 1974. He then married Evelyn Williamson on April 21, 1975. He was a member of South Georgia Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Earl D. Davis and Joe D. Davis, and a sister, Jerry Bittick. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Davis; a daughter, Charlynn Browning of Phoenix; a son, Larry Williamson of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sisters, Peggy Vandagriff of Amarillo and Pat Rudnik of Conroe; two grandchildren, Jenny Browning and Adam Browning of Phoenix; and numerous nieces and nephews. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Frank Durkee Frank Durkee, 87, of Amarillo died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006. Bell St. Mr. Durkee was born June 25, 1919, in Lake Geneva, Wis., to Sara and Maurice Durkee. He graduated from Lake Geneva High School and attended the University of Wisconsin prior to entering the Army Air Corps in 1941. He was commissioned as an officer in 1945 and completed pilot training in 1948. Frank was veteran of World War II and both the Korean and Vietnam wars. Col. Durkee retired from the Air Force in 1973 and at that time, he and his wife of 60 years, Billie L. Davis Durkee moved to Amarillo. Frank loved flying and sharing military stories with friends. He also gave of his time to volunteering. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Connie Phillips and Jill Terry, both of Amarillo; a brother, Robert Durkee of Albuquerque, N.M.; a sister, Barbara Burnett of Albuquerque; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren as well as special friends, Richard Phillips and Kathryn Acton. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gloria "Nano" York Gloria "Nano" York, 79, of Amarillo died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006. Mrs. York was born Gloria Gene Grimes in rural Potter County on May 14, 1927, to S.L. and Marguarite Grimes and was raised in the Amarillo area. She attended Amarillo public schools and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1945. She worked for several years for both the Amarillo Police Department as well as the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce. She worked as a microfilm supervisor for the American Quarter Horse Association for 16 years. She married M.C. York in 1963 in Amarillo. She enjoyed crafts of all kinds and loved crocheting. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a true Christian woman. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a grandson, Tim Grigsby; and a granddaughter, Tamara Grigsby.
