Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Tarea Ellen Butler was born April 30, 1959, in Tulsa, Okla., to Walter and Rosa Helscel. She worked as a dietary aide in food service for 15 years. Tarea was a prolific reader and a loving grandmother. She married Hobert O. "Buster" Posey in 1935 in Claude. She was a music lover and started playing piano at age 5. She eventually taught piano and played in churches in Arkansas and Texas. She served as church secretary and played piano at Line Avenue Baptist Church. She was also a member of First Baptist Church, where she played piano in the departments. She was a homemaker and cherished her family. Survivors include her husband, Hobert O. He was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Crawford, in 2000. Spoon Billy H. Spoon, 83, of Amarillo, formerly of El Paso, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006. Memorial services will be at a later date in El Paso. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Spoon was born Dec. 3, 1923, to Luther and Eula Spoon. Billy married Dixie Rosson on Oct. 21, 1989. They were childhood friends. He spent most of his working career with Phelps Dodge Copper Refinery, where he retired as plant manager in 1985. He served his country in World War II in the Pacific as a paratrooper with the 181st Airborne. He enjoyed volunteering for BSA Hospital for 16 years. Survivors include his wife, Dixie; a son, Richard Spoon; two daughters, Robbin Spoon of El Paso and Donna Rosson of Amarillo; a sister, Lou Meyer; two brothers, Roy Spoon and Jack Spoon; and their families. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Nobles died unexpectedly Sunday, Dec. 24, at home. She and Edward B. Nobles were married in 1950. Mrs. Nobles, who was the second registered medical technologist in Amarillo when she began work at the Veteran's Administration Hospital, was a medical technologist at several hospitals and laboratories in Amarillo. Mrs. Nobles and Mary Klingensmith compiled "A Holiday Cookbook" for the Amarillo Art Alliance to benefit the Amarillo Art Center, now the Amarillo Museum of Art. Mrs. Nobles was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and St. Andrew's Black Belt Bible Study. In addition, she held memberships in the Palo Duro Club, the PDC Canasta Club and the J.U.G. Club. She was a sustaining member of the Amarillo Junior League and a former member of the Amarillo Symphony Board. She also was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha while earning a bachelor's degree in biology and master's degree in microbiology at the University of Texas in Austin. He worked for Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of America for 36 years, retired in 1986, then worked for Reynolds Aluminum. Floyd loved bowling and camping. He bowled senior leagues at Amarillo Bowl. Floyd loved being with his family most of all and with his beloved dog, Dinky. An angel sent from heaven has gone home. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. Mr. Gibson was born Nov. 11, 1911, in Wynnewood, Okla. He attended schools in Wynnewood and Sulphur, Okla. He married Esther Ruth Sears on June 3, 1942, in Troup. He was employed at Baroid as an engineer from 1945 until his retirement in 1972. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Pampa. He was a member of the Pampa Masonic Lodge No. 966 AF&AM. He was a member of the Pampa Country Club, where he was an avid golfer. He was a volunteer with the hospital auxiliary. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Golden officiating, and the Rev. Justin Coleman assisting. Burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery by Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian. Mr. Rogers was born Sept. 24, 1920, one mile north of Shattuck, Okla., on the banks of Wolf Creek, to the late Irwin Rogers and Lillie Barnett Rogers. He attended grammar school at Sand Creek and was a 1938 graduate of Lipscomb High School. While in high school, Robert was a cartoonist for the school paper, Lipscomb Live Wire. He was active in school sports and played basketball outside on a dirt court. His passions were drawing and fishing. He married Beatrice "Appie" Turner on Nov. 2, 1939. They moved from the farm in Lipscomb to Canadian in 1969. She preceded him in death on Oct. 4, 1975. At the end of World War II, from 1948 to 1951, Robert got the flying bug and belonged to the Flying Farmers Club. For many years he served on the school board in Lipscomb. He married Lerah Cessna Minton on Oct. 22, 1977. She preceded him in death on Sept. 11, 1994. He married Lenora "Tootsie" Mathis Harrell on Sept. 25, 1999, in Canadian. For the last few years almost every Saturday was spent at the Naturally Yours Gallery in Lipscomb, visiting friends and old school chums. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church and in later years, the Abundant Life Assembly of God in Canadian. Robert liked to say he had two church homes. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles "Lindy" Rogers. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Fairview Methodist Church, near Laverne, with the Rev. Bill Long and the Rev. M.D. Methvin officiating. Burial will be in Laverne Memorial Cemetery by Myatt-Seeger Funeral Home. Mrs. Messner was born Aug. 12, 1911, on the family farm, near Elmwood in Beaver County, to William and Bessie Rust Bridges. She married Wilbur Jacob Messner on Sept. 20, 1928, in Canadian, Texas. Survivors include a son, Milton Messner of Laverne; two sisters, Ellen Little of San Luis Obispo, Calif. and Kay Pemmentale of Sydney, Australia; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Box 909, Laverne, OK 73848. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Elsewhere Bobbie Marie Koprivnikar GOODYEAR, Ariz. - Bobbie Marie Koprivnikar, 82, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2006. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Skyway Church of the West Valley in Goodyear. Arrangements are by Resthaven Park Mortuary of Phoenix. Bobbie was born in 1924 in Amarillo, Texas, and in her 82 years she was a world traveler, living in places like Africa and Saudi Arabia. From Amarillo, Bobbie moved to Sunnyvale, Calif., then to Milpitas, Calif., then she finally retired in Mariposa, Calif. Most recently, Bobbie was living in Peoria at Desert Winds Retirement home and finally she lived in Goodyear with her daughter. Everywhere she went the world was a better place because she was there. She never knew a stranger and her Texas drawl and friendly ways made it easy to be her friend. It is said that you can count your really good friends on one hand. Well, whoever said that never knew Bobbie. For 30 years she was a school secretary at Cherry Chase Elementary School, where she touched the lives of hundreds of children and teachers. Later in life Bobbie started oil painting, and her paintings grace the homes of many grateful people. Bobbie was active in her church in Mariposa and showed her love for her Lord to every one she met. All those who knew and loved Bobbie will miss her loving ways her wonderful sense of humor and God truly broke the mold when they made our mom. Survivors include a sister, Opal Dee Barton of Amarillo; three children, Peggy Brisbin, Don Dee Nettles and Denise Sowers; three stepchildren, Claudett Carmine, Albert Koprivnikar and Joe Koprivnikar; eight grandchildren, Dr. Dondee Nettles, Christopher Nettles, Anneka Ray, Michael Brisbin, Jason Sowers, Fritz Carmine, Joey Koprivnikar and Breanna Koprivnikar; and 10 great- grandchildren, Marcus Ray, Melissa Brisbin, Christian Cruz, Alex Nettles, Patrick Bellemy , Jason Brisbin, Jacob Sowers, Adam Nettles, Michael Sowers and Dietrich Nettles.
