Michael Carter, pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Wester was born in Erick, Okla. He married Geraldine Snider on Dec. 23, 1937, in Erick. Mr. Wester was a 66-year resident of Amarillo and was employed for 26 years at Pantex. Along with his wife, Geraldine, he enjoyed making more than 300 lap quilts for nursing home residents for many years. Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Wester; two daughters, La Juana Sharber and husband Dale of Amarillo and Brenda Woodard and husband Scott of Benicia, Calif.; a son, Ronnie Wester and wife Barbara of Amarillo; a sister, Ilavern Helms of Lubbock; a brother, Cleatus Wester of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Kenneth, Steven, Dynette, Todd and Leah; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Burns was born Feb. 11, 1946, in Norman, Okla., to L.D. and Montye Louise "Lou" Herring Burns. He was a 1964 graduate of Dumas High School and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Thailand, serving as a mechanic on B-52 airplanes and received an honorable discharge from the Air Force. He was a pipe fitter by trade and a former Glen Rose resident, but lived most of his life in Dumas. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lou Burns, on Nov. 4, 1994; and his father, L.D. Burns, on Dec. 18, 2000. Survivors include two sons, Jackson Ross Burns and wife Laura of Rainbow and Cody Burns of Nemo; two sisters, Linda "Sissy" Robinson and husband Randall of Borger and Teresa Alexander and husband Danny of Suffolk, Va.; and special people in his life, Shelly and Amber Watson. "Pop" London, 82, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007. Celebration of life services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Church of the Nazarene with Ted Taylor, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rest Lawn Cemetery by Hereford Heritage Funeral Home. Baxter was born Feb. 6, 1924, in Deaf Smith County to Walter Herbert London Sr. and Stacy Prudence Easter London. He served in the Navy and was a veteran of World War II. He married Gwen Alston on April 9, 1950, in Hereford, and she preceded him in death in 1991. Baxter was a postal carrier for more than 35 years until his retirement. He volunteered at the Senior Citizens Center delivering meals on wheels, at the hospital auxiliary and at the Church of the Nazarene. He will be best remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Burial will be at Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors. Johnny was born July 15, 1929, in Texhoma, Okla., to Clarence and Bernita Walthall. He served four years in U.S. Air Force. On March 28, 1957, he married Laquitta Reeves in Dumas. He had been a resident of Dumas since 1956. Johnny retired from the Dumas Police Department in 1983 after 27 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Norman was born April 9, 1925, in Fairview, Pa. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1967 and then went to work for the Texas Highway Department as an equipment supervisor. Norman was a POW during World War II and served during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was preceded in death by a sister, Prudence Donald; and two brothers, Bill Miller and James Miller.
