Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home Benton Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive, with Larry Miles, pastor of Trinity Fellowship Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Hal was born Feb. 27, 1939 in Spalding, Okla., and spent most of his early years in Olton. He had been a resident of Amarillo since 1973, and owned and operated High Plains Truck and Body for 15 years. Hal had a great passion for flying airplanes, and also enjoyed spending time in the mountains, snowmobiling and fishing. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include three sons, Gil Nicholson of Amarillo, Mark Nicholson of Gillette, Wyo., and Wade Nicholson of Big Spring; a brother, Buddy Nicholson of Olton; two sisters, Gayle Carlisle of Flower Mound and Barbara Woods of Amarillo; the love of his life, Sydney Nicholson of Amarillo; two stepchildren, Allen Pippin of Amarillo and Lynne Ayllon of San Antonio; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jewel Pruitt Jackson Jewel Pruitt Jackson, 91, of Amarillo died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St. Jewel Pruitt Jackson was born Feb. 25, 1916, in Calvert to Willie Henry Pruitt and Dilcy Pruitt. Mrs. Jackson was a longtime Amarillo resident. She worked in the dietary unit of St. Anthony's Hospital for 30 years. She was a faithful member of Carter Chapel CME Church. Survivors left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Pastor Simyou Carpenter and husband Lloyd of Eden Prairie, Minn.; a foster son, A.B. Blanton of Dallas; three special nieces, Brenda Knox of Amarillo, Wanda Terry of Waxahachie and Brenda Hunter of Duncanville; four grandchildren, Cornell Foster, Teona Carpenter, Cassie Carpenter and Camelia Johnson; four great- grandchildren, Candice and Samantha Foster and Troy and Kourtney Johnson; and a host of other nieces, nephews and friends. Mrs. Aylor was born Mary Estell Shannon on March 31, 1918, in Sulfur Springs, Ark., to John K. and Frances Shannon. She spent most of her childhood in East Texas, and had been a resident of Amarillo sine the early 1950s. She married Harley Aylor on Jan. 10, 1955. Mary provided child care from her home for many years. She loved flower gardening and watching things grow. She was a fine and loving Christian mother and grandmother, and she truly loved the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Sue Sinclair Mallett; a great-grandson, Nicholas Sinclair; and a granddaughter, Karen "Chickie" Sinclair Brewer. Survivors include a son, Jim Aylor and wife Sherri of Amarillo; a daughter, Christine Mallett of Amarillo; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was a graduate of Borger High School. She married Art Littrell on March 9, 1939, in Panhandle. She worked as a bookkeeper in her husband's businesses for many years. She lived in Winslow, Ariz., for many years before moving to Pampa in 1991 and then to Amarillo in 1995. She loved to bowl, play golf and learned to line dance while a resident of the Continental Independent Living Center. She was a loving wife, sister and aunt, and was a member of the Christian Church. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of BSA Hospice and Ware Memorial Care Center for their thoughtfulness and many acts of kindness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Art, in 1980; a brother, Ronnie Ingram; and a sister, Bernice Goodlett. Lifelong Plainview resident, Marvin Ferrell Marshall, 60, died Jan. 9, 2007, at Covenant Hospital Plainview of heart failure. Judge Marshall was born March 28, 1946, in Plainview to Marvin Glenn and the late Elsa Jeanette Marshall. He graduated Plainview High School in 1964. In 1969, he graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor of science in political science. He married Carolyn Sears on Nov. 19, 1971, in Plainview. In 1971, he graduated with honors from the second class of Texas Tech Law School and began work as a lawyer with the LaFont Law Firm LLP in Plainview. Soon afterward, he was elected to an unexpired term as county attorney for Hale County and district attorney for the 64th District of Hale County. He was re-elected in 1976 and again in 1980. In 1981, he was appointed by William P. Clements, then Governor of Texas, as state district judge of the 242nd District Court. That same year, he was honored as a distinguished alumnus of the Texas Tech Law School. He was re-elected to the 242nd District Court in 1982, 1986, 1990 and again in 1994, and served on the court until 1997. In 1997, he assumed the status of visiting judge and sat in courts throughout Texas, especially in the Lubbock and Dallas areas. In 2005, he returned to private practice with the law firm of Turner and Jordan LLP in Lubbock. Judge Marshall was a 27-year survivor of Hodgkin's lymphoma and a 10-year survivor of a heart attack. He enjoyed hunting, collecting Native American artifacts and being outdoors, and was a longtime collector and rebuilder of classic automobiles. An annual expedition to South Texas hill country to see the wildflowers in bloom was a favorite pastime of his. Marvin Marshall was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Plainview. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanette Marshall. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Marshall of Plainview; two daughters, Amanda Marshall of Oxford, England, and Kelli Marshall of Lubbock; his father, Marvin Glenn Marshall of Plainview; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Glenda and Glenn Mahagan of Kress and Theresa "Tesa" and Tim Benefield of Jonestown; a brother-in-law, Larry Sears of Lubbock; seven nieces and nephews; and nine great-nieces and great-nephews.
