Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Howard K. Batson, pastor, and Dr. Winfred Moore, pastor emeritus, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Caldwell was born Dec. 23, 1934, in McLean and raised in Borger. He was a graduate of Borger High School, where he played football. He received the Fighting Heart Award in 1952. He was named Distinguished Graduate of Frank Phillips College. He graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with a BBA in 1956 and later served on the school's board of development. While at Hardin- Simmons, he met Dorothy Portwood, and they married on March 25, 1956. He had been a resident of Amarillo for more than 45 years. He was retired from Consolidated Acoustics and Diversified Interiors. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, Sunday school teacher and also worked in the international ministry. He was a longtime member of the sanctuary choir and served as choir president. He was a member of the Gideons, where he was past chaplain. He served as literacy teacher for the Amarillo Baptist Association. He was a member, past president and lieutenant governor for Kiwanis International. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Denise Hollingsworth and husband Marl of Belton; four sons, Chris Caldwell and wife Kelly and Dean Caldwell and wife Lori, all of Amarillo, Kirk Caldwell and wife Lindsey of Austin and Tray Caldwell and wife Coral of West Richland, Wash.; 13 grandchildren; his mother, Johnnie L. Mrs. Barnes was born Aug. 28, 1920, in Obar, N.M., to Jess and Grace Sutton. She was a housewife and enjoyed cooking, watching her grandchildren and great- grandchildren and playing games. Her most favorite passion was her love and service in the name of Jesus Christ. She was a member of First Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Barnes. She married Edward Dale Worley on May 16, 1944, in Oceanside, Calif., while he was serving in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. They had three children, Lynda Rae, Richard Dale and Russell Glenn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Dale; a daughter, Lynda Rae; her mother, Beatrice Irene McCarl; and her father, Fred Hayden McCarl. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday in Darrouzett Cemetery with the Rev. Dan Carter of Follett United Methodist Church officiating, and Masonic rites by Ochiltree Lodge No. 910. Mr. Cross was born Sept. 29, 1911, in Ivanhoe, Okla., to Ada and Simon Cross. A longtime resident of Darrouzett, he was manager of the Darrouzett Co-op Association and retired as president of First National Bank of Darrouzett. Mr. Cross had served on the Darrouzett City Commission and the Lipscomb County Historical Committee. He was a member of the Darrouzett Lions Club and had worked with the Boy Scouts. Mr. Cross was the Past Master of Darrouzett Masonic Lodge No. 1156 and a member of Ochiltree Lodge No. 910. He also held memberships in the El Paso Scottish Rite Bodies and the Borger York Rite Bodies. He had received his 65- year service pin from the Grand Lodge of Texas. He was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Amarillo Chapter 787. Mr. Cross was a member of Darrouzett United Methodist Church, where he served on the administrative board and as a Sunday school teacher. In Amarillo, he was an associate member of Saint Stephen United Methodist Church and the Pathfinders Sunday school class. He was active in the Darrouzett Senior Citizens Association, the Darrouzett Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the American Rose Society. He married Velma Fisher on Feb. 6, 1936, in Darrouzett. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St. Mrs. Campbell was born Feb. 26, 1916, in Lower Peach Tree, Ala., to Westley and Willie Bell Anderson. She was partially reared and received her education in Mobile, Ala. She was a devoted and loving wife to Charley Campbell for 39 years. The family moved to Amarillo in 1955. She was a member of Carter Chapel C.M.E. Church. She was a housekeeper for the Wales Madden family for many years and retired at the age of 80. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. "Pat" Cain C.C. "Pat" Cain, 83, of Amarillo died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Cain was born Dec. 11, 1923, in Mobeetie to James Oscar Cain and Mattie Mangis Cain. He married Corolene Warren on July 18, 1942, in Wheeler. On Jan. 18, 1943, he entered the Army and served in the Philippines and New Guinea during World War II. Mr. Cain was a member of the Teamsters Union, Local 577. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He and his family spent many wonderful times at their cabin in Colorado. This devoted family man was always willing to help his family. His wife, daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of his life. He taught his grandchildren how to drive. Mr. Cain worked for ICX for 33 years until his retirement in 1984. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and four sisters. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Patsy Willoughby and husband Austin and Peggy Newton and husband Mike; a brother, Richard "Bud" Cain and wife Laverne; a sister, Alma Hickenbottom; four grandchildren, Kristi Carranza, Rusty Willoughby, Jamie Humphrey and Cathy Martin; and 12 great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bert O. Erwin, pastor of Second Baptist Church in Midland, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Gunn was born Oct. 21, 1919, in Biloxi, Miss. He graduated from Ole Miss University and from Ole Miss Law School. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Melinda Ann Gunn in 1951. Mr. Gunn practiced law for Chevron Oil Co. for 35 years in Midland/Odessa. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Gunn Fayard of Biloxi; a sister-in-law, Sara M. Flamm of Amarillo; four nieces, Melinda Alexander of Amarillo and Jane Jones, Julie Smith and Melinda Fountain, all of Biloxi; and two nephews, Phillip Flamm of Lubbock and Butch Fayard of Biloxi. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Arlington Cemetery in Kearny, N.J. Mr. Malinowski was born in Harrison, N.J. He married Violet Mieczkowski in Harrison, N.J., on Nov. 7, 1943. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He served as a policeman in Harrison, retiring in 1983 after 25 years. He moved to Tom's River, N.J., and then to Amarillo in 2004 to be close to family. He was a member of Copestone Masonic Lodge in Kearny. He attended St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Lorraine Mettham and husband Dan of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Tammy Owens and husband Dave, Philip Mettham and Andrew Mettham; and a great-grandchild, Jack Owens. Mr. Lopez was born Sept. 21, 1952, in Hereford to Raul Lopez Sr. and Alma Hill. He met his future wife, Connie, at the Piggly Wiggly in Hereford while sacking her mother's groceries. They were married on July 14, 1973. They resided in Amarillo where he worked at Weyerhauser Paper Co. for 22 years. He loved his family and supported them in all their sporting activities. He was a member of St. Laurence Cathedral parish. Survivors include his wife; two sons: Mark Lopez and wife Elizabeth and Danny Lopez, all of Amarillo; his parents of Hereford; a brother, Edward Lopez of Hereford; two sisters, Elsa Vallejo and husband Abraham Sr. and Nancy Pacheco and husband Manuel, all of Amarillo; and two god children, Maxine Rodriguez and Antonio "Bubba" Rodriguez, both of Amarillo. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Barbara Holland Barbara Holland, 71, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007. Mrs. Holland was born Feb. 3, 1935, in England and spent her childhood and young adult years there and also lived in Scotland. She moved to the United States when she was 25 and had lived in Amarillo since 1978. She ice skated professionally for The Ice Capades while living in England. She worked and served as a nurse for more than 40 years here in the United States. She was a loving mother and was also very fond of her special dogs. Mr. Kirchgessner was born July 27, 1927, in Peoria, Ill. He married Patricia Kimball on March 3, 1956. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, retiring after 20 years. He also worked for St. Anthony's Hospital for 12 years, retiring in 1992. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Durham, Okla. Mr. White was born March 10, 1924, in Romney. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1936. He was a graduate of Pampa High School in 1941, and graduated from Texas Tech University in 1949 with a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering. After college, he worked on the Hungry Horse Dam Project in Montana. He married Betty Jean Edgington on Oct. 1, 1955, in Magnolia Baptist Church in Crawford, Okla. He was a registered Texas professional engineer and a member of numerous professional organizations. He retired from Celanese in 1985 as a project engineer after 32 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he served on numerous church committees, including the building committee for the west education building. He was chairman of the deacons, a Sunday school teacher, served as president of the Baptist men and went on a crusade to Brazil. He enjoyed spending time on the family farm in Crawford. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving from 1942 to 1945. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Gregory Kim White on Jan. 21, 1966. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Central Baptist Church in Port Arthur. A brief graveside commemoration will be at 4:30 p.m. Friday in Flint Community Cemetery in Flint. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors. Mrs. Coleman was born April 24, 1915, in Franklin Parish, La., the youngest of eight children of William D. and Clara Wactor. Her father was a farmer and a locally renowned hunter and fisherman, occasionally serving as a guide in the woodlands and waters of the Tensas River region. Among those he took hunting was Detroit Tigers pitching ace Schoolboy Rowe, for whom Mrs. Coleman remembered helping her mother prepare a meal. In high school, Mrs. Coleman was an accomplished basketball player. She played guard on the Gilbert, La., High School team that went to the state championship in 1932. Mrs. Coleman met her husband, whom she married in 1936, while visiting her sister in Port Arthur. They lived in the Port Arthur area until 1952, when Mr. Coleman's work took them to Lorain, Ohio. They returned to southeastern Texas in 1963. After Mr. Coleman retired in 1976, they moved to nearby Calcasieu Parish, La., where they maintained a country homestead until reluctantly relocating to Canyon at their son's behest, in 1999. A homemaker, Mrs. Coleman was known for her hospitality and warmth. She maintained lively and affectionate communication with a wide network of friends and relatives until the end of her life. She was a devoted Christian and a longstanding member of Central Baptist Church in Port Arthur, where she and her husband forged enduring friendships with members of a young adult group they led in the 1940s. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Susan "Sister", Minnie, Lula, Eula, Harriet and Dollie; her brother Abraham "Bud"; and her husband, Fred P. Coleman. The death of her last surviving sibling, Harriet, about whom she cherished memories of childhood camaraderie, and, in later years, of sewing and crocheting together, came less than a day before her own. Survivors include a son, Paul, daughter-in-law, Carol, and 9-year-old grandson, Frederick, of Canyon, and a host of relatives and friends. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church of Canyon with the Rev. Curtis House, pastor of Wolfforth United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Dr. Moore was born Nov. 9, 1919, in Gorgas, Ala. He graduated from Baylor University and the University of Louisville Medical College. He served in the U.S. Army as a medical officer from April 1946 to February 1948. Dr. Moore moved to Canyon in 1951 to begin a medical practice and continued until his retirement in 1991. Dr. Moore was very involved in the community; he served on the Canyon ISD Board of Trustees for nine years, also serving as president, helped found the Babe Ruth League baseball program, was a member of the Rotary Club of Canyon and served as the music leader for years, served on the WT Foundation Board and the Board of Development at Baylor University. He was a very active member at First United Methodist Church of Canyon and served on the finance committee, the building committee and sang in the choir. Dr. Moore provided scholarships to both WTAMU and Baylor University. He was awarded "Citizen of the Decade" by the Canyon Chamber of Commerce for the 1970s. Dr. Moore was the medical director of the Care Unit, a drug and alcohol rehab center at Palo Duro Hospital. At his retirement, he auditioned and was accepted to play in the WTAMU Symphonic Band. His band, the Fabulous Five, entertained throughout the Panhandle for years and raised numerous funds for the band scholarship at WT. Dr. Moore was a loving father, grandfather, friend and upstanding citizen of Canyon. He was preceded in death by a brother, Weston Moore; his father, George Dudley Moore; and his mother, Evelyn Leisk Moore. Dr. Moore was a devoted husband to his wife, Lillis, and a loving father to their eight children: Skip and Jamie Moore and Bea and Wink Clark of Canyon, Joe and Dema Moore of Waco, Gary and Paula Moore of Amarillo, Richard and Angel Thompson of Rockwall, Bill and Elaine Moore of Sugarland, Anna Bland and Scott Aston of Dallas, Eloise and Steven Kissner of Lewisville; 18 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
