Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with Bill Crenshaw officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Rest Lawn Cemetery in Hereford with Milford Grisham officiating. Mrs. Williamson was born in Waller County to W.H. and Lillian Cooke. She married Joe Warren Williamson on Dec. 23, 1950. He passed away in 1997. She lived in Hereford for most of her life and moved to Amarillo to live with her daughter in 1995. Survivors include a daughter, Jolene Wynne and husband Chuck of Amarillo; three sisters, Grace Fisher of Jacksonville, Janet Adams and husband Clarence of Timpson and Sarah Hubble of Rocheport, Mo.; three brothers, Robert Cooke and wife Florence of Giddings, Earl Cooke and wife Emma of Houston and David Cooke and wife Margaret of Huntsville; a grandchild, Janna Johnson and husband Conally of Minneapolis; and numerous nieces and nephews. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sandra Foster Sandra Foster, 60, of Amarillo died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007. Mr. Medina was a gospel singer with a gospel group for 13 years. He was a loving grandfather and was very proud of his grandchildren. He was very respectful and appreciated by the people in the church and community. He loved to go camping and to travel with his family. He helped as many as possible. He was a tough man, he was only trying to show us the way. He will be missed by many people. He will always be in our hearts and prayers. We thank God for letting him be in our lives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Trine Medina and Leonora Gaitan. She graduated from Tascosa High School in 1969 and then from Amarillo College before attending West Texas State University. Mrs. Carter married John B. Carter on Feb. 14, 1978, in the SMU Chapel. She then attended the University of Chicago, receiving her interior decorating degree. Before returning to Amarillo, she had lived in Dallas and Virginia Beach, Va. She loved animals and birds of every kind. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her, father Warren G. Lee, on Dec. 30, 2005. Survivors include her husband, John B. Carter; her mother, Deana Lee of Amarillo; a brother, Robert E. She was formerly an executive secretary for a computer company in Atlanta, and recently moved to Amarillo. She and her husband loved to travel the world and also square danced all over the world. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Steele; a sister, Margi Howard; and her parents. Greever SPEARMAN - William Robert "W.R." Greever, 94, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Apostolic Faith Church with the Rev. Roland Haney officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman. His life began Jan. 24, 1912, when he was born to Edwin Adams Greever and Elma Alicia Teague Greever on the family farm east of Spearman in Ochiltree County. W.R. grew up on the farm and attended the Black community school for his elementary education. He attended Spearman High School, where he participated in many sports and was captain of the football team. College days were at West Texas State University in Canyon, where he lettered in track. He met his soon- to-be wife, Eulalie Fern Moore in Canyon when he was a senior. They were married on July 15, 1934, and moved to the family farm, where they lived for 68 years and reared four children. The moved to The Seasons, assisted living facility in Perryton, 11/2 years prior to Eulalie's death. W.R. was active in community work. He was president of Consumers Sales Co. and served for several years as a board member, was a member of Perryton Equity Board and a member of the Hansford Hospital board. He served for several years on the Spearman school board, both as a member and president. W.R. and Eulalie were active members of the Texas Farmers Flying Club of America for many years and traveled to national conventions across the country. Shortly after entering into a partnership with his two sons, W.R. and Eulalie spent much of their time traveling and enjoying their many friends and family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Eulalie Fern Greever on Nov. 4, 2003. Survivors include four children, Billie Greever Reynolds and husband Leslie of San Antonio, Robert D. Greever of Perryton, Helen Greever Batson and husband David of Lucas and Steven M. She married Fred August Mathisen on Nov. 3, 1988, in Port Aransas. Mrs. McLarty was born in Laverne, Okla., moved to Perryton at an early age and had considered it home the balance of her life. She married Dean McLarty in 1936 and they made their home on the farm west of Perryton until Mr. McLarty had to have nursing care and they moved to Park Place Towers in Amarillo. Her husband preceded her in death in 1989. Survivors include a daughter, Deana McGarraugh; two grandchildren, Cindy Brownlee and Rob McGarraugh; and two great-grandchildren, Britni McGarraugh and Mart Wagner. He farmed in Hereford for many years. He was preceded in death by a sister. Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Home for Funerals. Mrs. Conley was born on the family farm near Arnold, the daughter of Archie and Edna Olson Nansel. She attended school in Arnold. On March 13, 1953, Kay married A. Wayne Conley, at Camp Chaffee at Fort Smith, Ark.. The couple made their home in Arnold before moving to Norfolk in the winter of 1959. Kay was a member of First United Methodist Church, the American Legion and VFW auxiliaries. She was a past president of the Does. She enjoyed reading. Kay was loved by her family and her many friends. She was preceded in death by her father. Survivors include her mother; her husband; three children and their spouses, Kendra Henry of Norfolk, Joni and John Thomas of White Deer and Karma and Mitch Schultz of Norfolk; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and six stepgreat-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- William Denman "W.D." Dukes HOUSTON - William Denman "W.D." Dukes, 86, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007. Services were Jan. 9 in Old Nineveh Cemetery, alongside the old home place, Shady Grove Farm. William Denman "W.D." Dukes was born Jan. 23, 1920, at Shady Grove Farm near Duster, Comanche County, to Lilburn Lynwood and Minnie McNeely Dukes. W.D. and Mary Ulala Wood were wed on Sept. 9, 1940, in Jal, N.M., and except for his time in the Pacific for World War II, they had lived in the oil fields around Levelland, McCamey and Eldorado through the 1940s. The family moved to Eastland County in spring 1950, and on to Perryton in winter 1962. During his 30 years in Perryton, 1962 to 1992, W.D. was founding president of Prairie Well Service Inc., and a member of First Baptist Church. In 1993, W.D. retired to Hideaway Lake near Tyler, and enjoyed nature there until moving to Houston in December 2005. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Hope Joiner of Gorman and Jewel Charity Huddleston of Comanche; and his younger brother, L.L. "Shorty" Dukes Jr. of Comanche. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mary Ulala; four children, W.D., Jr. "Denny" of Shreveport, La., Jerry of Vida, Ore., Steve of Houston and Susan of Seagraves; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Within his close-knit group of seven Dukes siblings, he was known as Denman. Of his four sisters, Hope, Faith, Charity and Comfort, he is survived by two, Amber Faith Craddock of Comanche and Hazel Comfort Roberts of Montgomery, Ala. Of his two brothers, he is survived by his older brother, Herman "Tex" Dukes of Comanche. Mr. Podzemny was born Jan. 16, 1944, in Canyon to Irving J. and Phyllis Rickwartz Podzemny. He was a graduate of Amarillo High School, and served in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee. He was a farmer most of his life, and enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids and helping people. Gene Hembree ROCKWALL - O. Gene Hembree, 95, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Cooper Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Brown Cemetery in Sunray. O. Gene Hembree, 95, died Jan. 14, 2007, in Rockwall Nursing Care Center in Rockwall, where he and his wife of 71 years, Alma, have lived since September 2005. Mr. Hembree was born Nov. 3, 1911, in Crowell, the third child of Samuel Houston and Bassel Williams Hembree. Mr. Hembree met his wife, Alma Mae Hudgens, at a country dance. They married on Nov. 18, 1935, in Thalia. They moved to the Sunray area in 1942, and lived in Stinnett for 34 years before moving in 1999 to the Lake Sam Rayburn area to be near family. During Hurricane Rita, he and Alma were moved to Rockwall from Newton. Mr. Hembree was crude oil transportation foreman for Diamond Shamrock Corp. when he retired in 1976 after 35 years. He and his workmen laid new oil lines, repaired leaks and monitored pumping units. He received a patent on an Oil Field Heater that separated crude oil from water which was used in the Texas Panhandle oil fields for many years. After he retired, he contracted to Diamond Shamrock as an inspector of new oil lines. Gene served on the school board at Pringle Elementary School in the 1950s and 1960s and also served as its president. He was a member of the Lions Club in Sunray in the late 1940s. Mr. Hembree was a member of Sunray Methodist Church when he lived in Sunray and a member of Stinnett First Baptist Church. Gene enjoyed fishing on Lake Meredith. He was a mechanic of his own cars and his sons' and daughters' cars, including his son, Fred's race car. He was called Neenerie by some of his children and grandchildren, who always quipped, "Neenerie'll fix it." An accomplished carpenter, he built his retirement motor home by hand. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Lee Hembree of Dumas, Paul Hembree of Lake Toledo Bend, Lora Mae Ewing of Amarillo, Louise Hudgens of Cerric and George Hembree of Janesville, Wis. Survivors include five children, Fred Hembree and wife Brenda of Bonham, Jeanette Foshee and husband Dean of Lake Sam Rayburn, Beverly Hembree Wilson of Rockwall, Mike Hembree of Houston and Mary Chavanne and husband Richard of Round Rock; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Borger. Mrs. Davis was born June 23, 1929, in Hammon to William and Mildred Beene. She graduated from Phillips High School and was a member of the Democratic League. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Central Baptist Church in Port Arthur. Brief graveside services will be at 4:30 p.m. Friday in Flint Community Cemetery in Flint. Local arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors. Georgia Mildred Wactor Coleman was born April 24, 1915, in Franklin Parish, La., the youngest of eight children of William D. and Clara Wactor. Her father was a farmer and a locally renowned hunter and fisherman, occasionally serving as a guide in the woodlands and waters of the Tensas River region. Among those he took hunting was Detroit Tigers pitching ace Schoolboy Rowe, for whom Mrs. Coleman remembered helping her mother prepare a meal. In high school, Mrs. Coleman was an accomplished basketball player. She played guard on the Gilbert (Louisiana) High School team that went to the state championship in 1932. Mrs. Coleman met her husband, whom she married in 1936, while visiting her sister in Port Arthur. They lived in the Port Arthur area until 1952, when Mr. Coleman's work took them to Lorain, Ohio. They returned to southeastern Texas in 1963. After Mr. Coleman retired in 1976, they moved to nearby Calcasieu Parish, La., where they maintained a country homestead until reluctantly relocating to Canyon, at their son's behest, in 1999. A homemaker, Mrs. Coleman was known for her hospitality and warmth. She maintained lively and affectionate communication with a wide network of friends and relatives until the end of her life. She was a devoted Christian and a longstanding member of Central Baptist Church in Port Arthur, where she and her husband forged enduring friendships with members of a young adult group they led in the 1940s. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Susan "Sister," Minnie, Lula, Eula, Harriet and Dollie; a brother, Abraham "Bud"; and her husband, Fred P. Coleman. The death of her last surviving sibling, Harriet, about whom she cherished memories of childhood camaraderie, and, in later years, of sewing and crocheting together, came less than a day before her own. Survivors include a son, Paul, daughter-in-law, Carol, and 9-year-old grandson, Frederick, of Canyon; and a host of relatives and friends.
