Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Dr. Dana Moore officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Blake was born June 2, 1903, in Delta County. She was a longtime member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and was self-employed as a seamstress for many years. She was preceded in death by a son, Carroll Blake. Survivors include a son, Lloyd Blake; a brother, Raymond Baldwin; a sister, Bonnie Lou Self; and numerous nieces and nephews. Cairns Robert F. Cairns, 81, formerly of Amarillo, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Murray Gossett officiating. Private family burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Cairns was born May 5, 1925, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Ray B. and Ruth Elizabeth Cairns. Growing up in Clinton , Okla., he went on to graduate from OU. While at OU, he played first base for the baseball team and played semi- pro baseball after graduation. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He served in the U.S. Naval Air Corps during World War II. He met Barbara Boyce while they were both attending OU, and on June 4, 1947, he married Barbara in Amarillo. Mr. Cairns then began working for his father-in-law at Armstrong Transfer and Storage Co. and Amarillo Warehouse Co. He was a past president of the Southwest Transfer and Storage Association. In addition to the warehouse and transfer businesses, he was involved with National Car Rental, Dollar, Thrifty Car Rental and Airport Valet Parking at the Amarillo International Airport. In 1998, Mr. Cairns married Katy Nichols and moved to Ft. Worth. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Barbara, in 1994; and a brother, Ray B. Cairns Jr. Survivors include his wife, Katy Nichols Cairns of Fort Worth; a daughter, Julie Albracht of Amarillo; two sons, Boyce Cairns and wife Mud of Amarillo and Robert Steven Cairns and wife Paula of Boerne; a brother, Jack T. The family moved back to Amarillo when she was two years of age. She volunteered and worked at various and many places. She loved doing calligraphy and painting. She designed the Kids Inc. and Potter County emblems. She was president of Whittier Elementary PTA and was honored with a lifetime membership. She was a Democratic precinct chairman and was the first woman Potter County commissioner, filling an unfinished term. She worked for the Potter County Clerks office as voter registration and election supervisor for 10 years. She retired after serving an unfinished term for Justice of the Peace, Pct. 2, Place 2. She was a member of Church of Christ. Pat married Ernest Clark on Dec. 21, 1946. They had a loving, close marriage and were always involved with their boys' activities. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Alma Fenwick; and a brother, Harold Fenwick. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Ronald "Ron" Clark and wife Cathy and Rodney Clark and wife Rayvonne; two brothers, Jim Fenwick and Monty Fenwick; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three nephews; and two great- nephews. Private graveside services will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Nadine "Deane" Barnes Hudson was born April 27, 1909, in Clarendon to Susan Blanche and Otis Barnes. She attended Clarendon schools, and studied art and dressmaking at Clarendon College. Mrs. Hudson moved to Amarillo in 1945. She and her sister, Hazel Barnes, had owned a blouse shop on Polk Street and she worked as a buyer for ladies sportswear at Blackburn's Department Store from 1945 to 1964. She married Mart Hudson on March 9, 1959. He preceded her in death in 1995. She had been an active member of Polk Street United Methodist Church since 1945. Mrs. Hudson was a loving family member, caregiver and friend. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Barnes; a brother, Everett Barnes; and two nephews, Don and John Cameron. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. "Gib" was born June 15, 1923, in Stratton, Neb., to Prier and Blanche Richards. He served two years in the U.S. Navy during World War II. In August 1951, he married Esta Stinnette, who preceded him in death in November 2002. He had been a resident of Dumas since 1976. "Gib" worked for Colorado Interstate Gas for 40 years, retiring in July 1987. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Channing school gym with Glendell Smith, chaplain of BSA Hospital, and Bob McAlister, former pastor of First Baptist Church in Channing, officiating. Burial will be in Channing Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St., in Amarillo. Mr. Hunnicutt was born Aug. 16, 1930, in Achille, Okla., to Llewallen Ford and Ethel Hunnicutt. He graduated from Channing High School in 1947 and attended West Texas State University. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed in San Angelo. It was there that he met the love of his life, Nedra Sheehan. They were married on May 29, 1954. Mr. Hunnicutt worked for Pantex from 1957 until 1964. The family then moved to Channing, where he owned and operated Hunnicutt Oil Co. until he retired from the oil business in 1974. He also was a partner in Tri-County Bail Bonds from 1984 until 2003. Mr. Hunnicutt served as the mayor of Channing in the early 1960s, and as a Hartley County Commissioner for 20 years. He was a full-time bronze sculptor with a studio on the Canadian River, and a foundry where he cast his own sculptures in downtown Channing. Mr. Hunnicutt was an avid arrowhead collector and had one of the largest privately held collections in the United States. A lifelong love of laughter and trickery, Bob never met a stranger. He always offered a leg up to those in need and was an anonymous donor to those less fortunate. He lived his life to the fullest. He always wanted a huge family and he got it, with all the noise that goes along with a large family. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Nedra; four daughters, Lisa Guest and Lori Hayes and husband Rick, all of Amarillo, Leslie Kistner of Channing and Lynda Underwood and husband Billy of Perryton; a son, Dr. Lew Hunnicutt of Perryton; a sister, Mildred Mickey and husband Bob of Canyon; seven grandchildren, Nickole Leutwyler and husband Justin, Whitney Guest, Neeley Guest-Pruitt, Bradley Shays Cochrane, Kidded Kistner and Cole and Claire Underwood; three great-grandchildren, Ethan Guest, Collin Leutwyler and Carson Pruitt; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and too many friends to shake a stick at. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona. Mrs. Ethington was born Jan. 31, 1921, in Olney to Myrtle and Henry Kay Whitmire. She was raised near Lamesa and graduated from Lamesa High School, where she met Marvin Peterson. They wed on Sept. 21, 1941, and were married for 51 years. In 1959 she began a long teaching career in the Plainview schools, spending most of those years teaching third grade at College Hill Elementary School. After Marvin's death in 1992 and the death of their beloved daughter Dorothy in 1994, Bea married Don Ethington of Dimmit in March 1995. Lewis Hyde Humphreys, son of Lewis Price and Rebecca Marguerite Hyde Humphreys, passed away at his home in Arvonia at 84 years of age. Lewis Humphreys was born Feb. 7, 1922, in Osage City, and had lived his entire life in Arvonia in Osage County. He attended grade school in Arvonia and Osage City as well as three high school years in Osage City. He graduated from Kemper Military Academy in Boonville, Mo., in 1940. He later attended Stricklers Business School in Topeka. Mr. Humphreys was in the ranching business all of his life. Lewis was joined in marriage to Elva Jones Leonard on June 12, 1983, in Overland Park. He joined the Kansas Livestock Association in 1947 and had been a member of the Texas Southwestern Cattle Ranchers Association since 1954. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and a charter member of the National Rifle Association Whittington Center in Raton, N.M. He had been a member of the Texas Game Warden Association of Conservation for Future Generations since 1989. Mr. Humphreys was a life member of the Republican Party of the United States of America. He was a member of Lebo United Methodist Church. Mr. Humphreys served on the board of directors of Osage City Country Club. He served on the Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center board of directors from 1985 until 1995, during which time he was on the finance committee and the executive committee. After that he served on the Stormont-Vail Foundation Board of Trustees, the Planned Giving Committee and the Stormont-Vail Health Care Advisor Board. Among his many generous contributions, Mr. Humphreys provided scholarships at Emporia State University for the handicapped as well as scholarships for young people in Coffey, Lyon and Osage counties. He has helped people in nursing homes who could not afford to stay. He built a therapeutic pool for the Capper's Foundation in Topeka. He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Sally Leonard. Survivors include his wife, Elva Humphreys; and a cousin, Joanna VerBrugge of Tonganoxie. Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo. Eunice was born in O'Brien, Haskell County, to W. Ike and Ordina Yates Pierson. She had been a resident of Arlington for the past 36 years and had previously lived in Amarillo. Eunice was active in her church and was an adult Sunday school teacher for 30 years. She was also an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard W. Pride, in 1980; and a daughter, Sharon Floyd, in 1979. Survivors include four children, Robert L. Pride of Charlottehall, Md., Rex Pride of San Bernardino, Calif., Kay Manesh of Los Angeles and H. The family moved to the Knox and Haskell County areas of Texas when she was young. She graduated from Weinert High School in 1948. She married Alvin R. Roberts of Knox City in March 1949. In 1956, the family moved to Swisher County, and she lived in Tulia for most of her life. Wynelle worked for the Tulia Chamber of Commerce, Tulia Savings & Loan and in a local doctor's office for several years. She also worked for the post office for many years. She played the piano and the church organ for Calvary Baptist Church for many years and was a member of the Eastern Star. She also served on three missionary crusades to India, which she truly loved and frequently talked about. She enjoyed bringing the love of God to others. She had many friends throughout the area, and there are just too many other memories to mention. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Roberts, the former police chief in Tulia; her paternal father, Reuben Gaylor of Jackson, Tenn., and her mother, Ozelle Stephens and stepfather, C.W. Stephens of Knox City; two sisters, Peggy Guinn of Knox City and Lucille Lummus of San Antonio; and a stepbrother, James Gaylor of Auburn, Ala.
