Beal Billy E. Beal, 72, of Amarillo died Friday, Jan. 26, 2007. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Hillside Christian Church with Billy Kersh, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Lipscomb Cemetery in Lipscomb by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Beal was born Feb. 16, 1934, in Utica, Okla., to Charles and Minnie Beal. He married his best friend and the love of his life, Shirley Laurie Beal, on Aug. 6, 1977. Bill was employed as a plumber, owning and operating Billco Plumbing for many years. He loved sharing the outdoors with family and friends and was a longtime member of Panhandle Boat and Ski Club. He was a member of Hillside Christian Church, the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union and was a voting member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. Bill was an Army veteran, serving from 1957 to 1959. Bill had a strong faith in God and a love for his family and his country that was reflected in all he did and said. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; his parents; five brothers; and a sister. Survivors Bill leaves include four daughters, Cindy Jenkins and husband Ted of Victoria, Gayle Phillips and husband Mike and Debbie Green, all of Amarillo, and Laurie Levitt and husband Mike of Clinton, Okla.; a son, David Beal and wife Lynn of Amarillo; a brother, Earl Beal of Amarillo; two sisters, Ethel Cookson and husband Art of Amarillo and Ruby Brewer of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. "Dub" Laughter, 90, of Amarillo died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Amarillo South Church with Jerry Bell, chaplain at Ware Living Center, officiating. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. A second memorial service will be at 2 p.m. MST Tuesday in First Baptist Church of Clayton, N.M., with the Rev. Billy Rammage officiating. Mr. Laughter was born Feb. 25, 1916, in Harding County, N.M., near the town of Roy to Madison and Mittie Livingston Laughter. His dad died of pneumonia when Dub was age 4 and his uncle and aunt, Oscar and Rhoda Kidd of Roy, mainly raised him. He graduated from Roy High School in 1935. He attended New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, receiving a bachelor of science degree in agriculture with a major in animal husbandry in 1940. He was an active member of the stock judging team at NMSU. He served as a county supervisor for the Farm Security Administration from 1940 to 1947 living in Clayton, Lovington, Fort Sumner, Estancia, Espanola and Alamogordo, N.M., during this time. He married Mildred Oliver on Dec. 30, 1945, at her parents' country home near Clayton. Dub and Mildred farmed near Felt, Okla., for some eight years before taking over the cattle ranch operations of Mildred's parents' southwest of Clayton on Jan. 1, 1957. Dub ran a cow-calf operation on nine sections of ranchland on Carrizo Creek, with its stream-cut terrain, cedar trees and sand hills. He also raised forage sorghum that served as livestock feed. He was considered to be one of northeastern New Mexico's finest cattlemen. Dub and Mildred lived on the ranch until 1967, when they moved into Clayton for health reasons. Dub commuted to the ranch each morning to run operations until finally retiring at age 87. Dub became actively involved in civic activities once they moved to town. He was one of the founders of the Clayton Medical Offices, built in 1970 to support the local medical community, by enticing doctors to move to Clayton. He served on the board of directors of the medical offices for 14 years, including six years as president. He served on the board of directors of KLMX radio station for 16 years. He served on the Clayton-Union County Chamber of Commerce and its Rodeo Board. He was one of the original organizers and members of the Clayton Lions Club. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Clayton. In 1990, the Clayton-Union County Chamber of Commerce honored Dub for his lifetime contributions to the rural lifestyle in northeastern New Mexico by naming him "Old Timer of the Year" and presenting him with a pair of trophy spurs at the July 4th festivities. Dub loved his family and was very proud of his two sons and their families. He enjoyed being "Pop" to his boys, his grandchildren and his great- granddaughter. He also enjoyed an occasional hunting or fishing excursion. He was preceded in death by his parents; his special uncle and aunt; a sister, Florene Porterfield; and a brother, J.W. McAnally. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Steve Laughter and wife Lesli and Larry Laughter and wife Janet, all of Amarillo; a brother, Harry McAnally of Sparks, Nev.; three grandsons, Cy Laughter and wife Rose of Savannah, Ga., Ross Laughter of Dallas and Clay Laughter of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Ashley Laughter of Amarillo; a great-granddaughter, Hannah Laughter of Savannah; special cousins, Skeets Cline, Champ Kidd and Babe Kidd, all of Roy; and a special niece, Mary Etta Filbin of Mertzon. Georgia St. Mrs. LeGate was born Aug. 21, 1923, in Electra to John and Daisy Beasley. She married Wayne LeGate on Feb. 22, 1942, in Wichita Falls. They moved to Amarillo in 1942. She was a member of Hillside Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 5, 1974; her parents; two sisters; and two brothers. Mr. Gilson passed away Jan. 25, in Lawton from head trauma suffered in an accident. Mr. Gilson was born Nov. 27, 1928, in Wichita Falls to Tony A. Gilson and Ina Gilson. Mr. Gilson enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard at the age of 17 where he served for two years. In 1948, he joined the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He received a Korean Medal with two Bronze Stars and the Good Conduct Medal. He moved to Amarillo in 1953. Mr. Gilson was a Mason and a Shriner. He moved to Lawton in 2006 to be closer to his family. Survivors include a son, Jerry Gilson and wife Betty of Lawton; a daughter, Connie Kinder and husband Johnny of Lawton; a sister, Barbara Horner of Mountain Park, N.M.; six grandchildren, Jay, Kristien, Brandy, James, Brandon and Melissa; and eight great-grandchildren. She worked in the office at the Cotton Compress in Quanah and also helped her father with the fields. She married her sweetheart, Edward Durward "Wimpy" Jones, on Sept. 30, 1945, in Quanah. They lived in Quanah for one month before moving to Amarillo. May Delle dedicated her life to God and her family. She was a member of Comanche Trail Church of Christ. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Wagner was born in Amarillo on Oct. 27, 1946, to Jeanne Howe Kritser and Shelby Masterson Kritser. She graduated from Ferry Hall in Lake Forrest, Ill., and attended Finch College in New York City. She lived most of her life in Amarillo, spending 10 years in Denver. Gail's creativity was seen through all her work as an interior designer. She was an exceptional talent in her field. She designed custom furniture, custom paints and picked the finest materials to insure that every detail made any room spectacular and comfortable. Her talents were known by many and will never be duplicated. She wanted her knowledge and talent to be passed on to her children. She exposed them to exotic travel, provided them with a fine education and taught them to enjoyed the quality and history of the beautiful treasures she had collected through the years. The beloved mother taught her children the importance of her family's history. Her pioneer ranching family were all from Amarillo. They founded the Amarillo Globe-News and Tradewind Airport. They were always gracious and made many contributions to Amarillo. Gail kept this tradition alive and was excited to begin her involvement with the Amarillo Zoo. She was also a supporter of the Animal Rescue Shelter, the Amarillo Panhandle Humane Society and the Panhandle Search and Rescue Team. She had a passion for all animals and was especially fond of her faithful dogs. Mrs. Wagner was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church and the Junior League of Amarillo. The family would like to acknowledge the care and support of Gail's friends, the BSA Hospice staff and her private nurses. Their love was so comforting to Gail and her family. She will be deeply missed and in her friend's and family's hearts forever. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kelly Katherine Wagner, and the father of her children, Kenneth Langdon Wagner. Mr. Rasor was born Sept. 27, 1927, in Indianola, Okla. He married Melba Jean Morrison on Aug. 4, 1946, in Erick, Okla. He was a farmer and a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Gruver. He was a member and director of the Hansford County Farm Bureau and a director of the Texas Farm Bureau. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren. And he loved the soil. Burial will be in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Eggert was born July 2, 1908, in San Pablo, Colo. In the early 1930s, she married Fred Eggert Jr. She and her family moved to Tucumcari in 1947, where the family purchased their farm that was operated until 1983. She moved to Phoenix in 1993. She had been a longtime Jehovah's Witness. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982; a son, Samuel Eggert; a grandson, Terry Shue; and a granddaughter, Bianca Esquibel.
