Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road. Mrs. Allen was born Feb. 2, 1928, in Bowie, to William Henry and Maud Brewer Oliver. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 47 years, Walter Allen; a daughter, Wanda Conklin; a granddaughter, Tina Marie Stephens; a great-granddaughter, Jordan Calderon; a sister, Evelyn hayes; and a brother, W.D. Oliver. Survivors include four daughters, Patsy Ratliff and husband Dan, Joyce Stephens and husband Jimmy, Sandra Lewis and Sheila Wilborn and husband Buddy, all of Amarillo; a son, Charles Allen of Amarillo; a sister, Ethel Martin of Fort Worth; a brother, Odell Oliver of Dennison; 11 grandsons; four granddaughters; 11 great-grandsons; and five great-granddaughters. The family would like to express a special note of thanks to BSA Hospice for their compassion and care. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wayland Marcum Wayland Marcum, 75, of Amarillo died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with the Rev. Ken Cole, associate pastor at St. Stephen United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Marcum was born Jan. 31, 1932, in Parnell to Joe and Lilan "Tid" Marcum. He graduated from Estelline High School. He married Edith Compton on Nov. 12, 1950, in Memphis, and they moved to Amarillo that same year. His life revolved around his family. He loved baseball and coached his boys on Kids, Inc., YMCA and American Legion baseball teams. He was very supportive of his grandchildren and their sporting endeavors. He raised and raced thoroughbreds for 15 years. He enjoyed political discussions and debates, always proud to represent the Democratic point of view. He was a member of Saint Stephen United Methodist Church. He worked in the automobile industry for many years. He retired from Ray Jones Chevrolet in 1994. The family would like to express their appreciation to BSA Hospital for all their care and help. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Wanda Jo; and a grandson, Jacob. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery by memorial Park Funeral Home. Mrs. Monson was born Nov. 7, 1929, in Clayton, N.M., to Earl and Ossie Barns Myers. She married Richard Monson on May 6, 1975, in Texarkana. She lived in Amarillo most of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers. Survivors include her husband, Richard Monson; two sons, Allen Poole of Universal City, and Jimmy Poole and wife Earlene of Amarillo; two daughters, Melinda Hiles and husband Frank of Amarillo and Dorothy Schmidt of Contoocook, H.H.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous stepgrandchildren. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be at a later date in Santa Fe National Cemetery. Arrangements are by School Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Brisley was born March 3, 1923, in Mayslick, Ky., to Charles and Della Sapp. She married Bernard A. Brisley in Maysville, Ky., on Sept. 24, 1946. Mrs. Brisley worked as the cafeteria coordinator for St. Andrew Episcopal School for more than 20 years, retiring in 2000. She was a cheerful and delightful woman who touched the lives of many. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. Mrs. Brisley was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include a daughter, Kay Campbell of Amarillo; three sons, Peter M. Brisley III and wife Ann of Silverton, Paul Brisley and wife Sandra of Mesquite and Mark Brisley of Amarillo; a sister, Frances Bartelt of Amarillo; three brothers, Tom Sapp and wife Betty, Harry Sapp and wife Maxine and Tony Sapp and wife Delores, all of Kentucky; four grandchildren, Abe Brisley, Dinae Brisley, Dan Brisley and Leslie Campbell. A private memorial service will be at 3 p.m. today in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St. Sam was born Jan. 18, 1946, in Amarillo to S.B. and Francis Whittenburg. He was a hunter and an outdoorsman. He loved cooking, skiing and working with tools. He always said that he was "a dog in men's clothing." Sam was loyal to friends and family. Mrs. Caswell was born Oct. 6, 1956, in Landstuhl, Germany and came to Pampa in 1981 from Midland. She was a 1974 graduate of Abilene High School and received her bachelor of science degree in nursing from West Texas A&M University. She married Jimmy Caswell on Jan. 16, 1976, in Abilene. She was a registered nurse, and she worked for Shepherd's Crook Home Health Care and Hospice of the Panhandle. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Koinonia Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Dudley. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Matthew Caswell of Amarillo and Spc. Peter Caswell of Fort Carson, Colo.; a daughter, Carrie McKissick of Pampa; her mother, Jean Dudley of Abilene; two brothers, Mike Dudley of Virginia Beach, Va., and John Dudley of Houston; three sisters, Sue Queton of Selma, Calif., Betty Tecson of Virginia Beach and Barbara Morton of Orting, Wash.; and four grandchildren, Andrew, Alex, Allen and Aric McKissick, all of Pampa. Brandon DUMAS - Helen Brandon, 83, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007. Jesse H. Brandon, 86, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007. Joint services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Beth Harrington, pastor of the church, officiating, assisted by former pastor, the Rev. John Wagoner. Burial will be in Lane Memorial Cemetery in Sunray by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Brandon was born April 30, 1923, in Chillicothe. Mr. Brandon was born March 7, 1920, in Oklahoma. Helen and Jesse were married June 1, 1941, in Acme. They had lived in the Texas Panhandle since 1946, moving to Dumas in 1965. They were long-time members of First United Methodist Church. Helen was an English and language arts teacher, retiring from Hillcrest School in 1984. Jesse worked for Diamond Shamrock Oil and Gas for 33 years, retiring in 1980. In their 65 years of marriage, Helen and Jess travelled all over the United States, Canada and parts of Mexico. The couple was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry Brandon in 1988 and Lloyd Brandon in 1997; and a granddaughter. Mrs. Brandon was also preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, R.B. Trolinder, in 1992. Mr. Brandon was also preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and three sisters. Survivors of the couple include a son, Gene Brandon of Dumas; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Brandon is also survived by four sisters, Dell Beadle of Amarillo, Neva Eudy of Beaver, Okla., Faye Turvaville of Childress and Ruby Lafollette of Highview, W.Va.; and a brother, Lawrence Trolinder of Amarillo. Mr. Brandon is also survived by seven nieces; and three nephews. Celebration of life services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Nazarene Church of Wellington with the Rev. Harry Stallings, the Rev. James Ikner and the Rev. Harold Wayne Moore officiating. Myrtle Amandia Yarbrough was born April 27, 1905, in a half dugout on the Downs Farm in Harmon County, Indian Territory. Myrtle attended school at Union Grove, Carl, Vinson and Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She married Fred Yarbrough on April 8, 1926, in Wellington. They had three daughters: Pauline Mozelle, Peggie Jean and Glenna Fred. Myrtle was a member of the First Nazarene Church in Wellington. Myrtle helped her father with the farming and helped them run the country store at Madge. After her marriage to Fred, she continued with all aspects of farming and ranching. Other hobbies included making wedding dresses and cakes, lots of drapes, curtains and bedspreads, alterations and numerous quilts for her entire family. She recently finished quilts for the grandchildren made from some of their favorite clothes. Her grandchildren always enjoyed the pans of hot rolls that she made for Thanksgiving. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Pauline Mozelle; her parents; three brothers; a sister; and a son-in-law, Mack Bush. Survivors include two daughters, Peggie Bush of Tulia and Glenna Lasater and husband Reginald of Duncan, Okla.; three grandsons, Fred Bush of Floydada, John Bush of Bryan, Kevin Lasater and wife Heather of Plano; a granddaughter, Michele Lasater of Oklahoma City; two great-granddaughters, Liz Bush of Santa Fe and Lindsey Lasater of Plano; and two stepgrandchildren, Tyler and Jade Gittens of Plano. Connie came to Borger in 1944 from Garden City, Kan., and raised five children with her husband Pete. She was very active in the community, serving the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 412 from 1945 until the present in all offices, including president. She was a member of St. John's Altar Society from 1945 until the present and a member of the Rebekah Lodge in the 1970s, a member of the Borger Independent School District PTA and the St. John's Choir. Connie was a direct descendant of Aztec Indians from Zacatecas, Mexico. Connie was married to Octaviano P. "Pete" Garcia Sr. on Jan. 3, 1944, in Garden City. Pete preceded her in death in 1992. Survivors include two sons, Daniel G. Garcia and wife Kathy of Wichita Falls and Junior Garcia of Denton; three daughters, Olivia Martinez Abshire and husband Larry of Floresville, Sophia Garcia-Robles of Santa Cruz, Calif., and Yvonne Payne and husband Ron of Borger; a sister, Susan Mujica of Garden City; Seven grandchildren, Ralph Martinez, Adam Martinez, Duncan Garcia, Danielle Garcia, Katy Garcia, Lauren Monden and Ronay Bach; and five great- grandchildren, Kole Bryan, Kenny Monden, Haylee Monden, Infinity Martinez and Miguel Martinez.
