Mrs. Jolly was born Bobbie Dee Tice on Aug. 6, 1920, in Tell. After her marriage in 1938, she and husband Andy Jolly lived in Lockney and Hale Center before moving to Amarillo in the mid-1970s. In Amarillo, they co-owned and operated Jolly's Jean Junction for eight years before retiring. She was a charter member of Coulter Road Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Jolly; her parents, James and Elsie Tice; two sisters, Lyndell Little and Nell Hawkins; a brother, Jimmy Tice; and a son-in-law Dwain Milligan. Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery in Sweetwater by Wright Funeral Directors. Esther May Dickey was born July 23, 1909, in Sweetwater to John and Anna Subert Fourier. She lived in Sweetwater until 1997, when she moved to Shamrock to live with her daughter. Esther graduated from Erick High School in 1928 and attended Southwestern State College in Weatherford, Okla. Esther taught at several small schools in Oklahoma. She married Howard Dickey on Feb. 3, 1935. She was active at Sweetwater Baptist Church playing the piano and teaching Sunday school, VBS and Women's Mission Union. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and three brothers, Carl, Walter and Earl Fourier. Survivors include two daughters, June Mattox and husband Dr. Kenneth Mattox of Houston and Eleanor Meares of Shamrock; four grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- J.W. "Hap" Rogers TULIA - J.W. "Hap" Rogers, 86, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Central Church of Christ with Eben Emerson, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mr. Rogers was born May 4, 1920, in Vernon, where he grew up and attended schools. He married Earline Capps on July 12, 1941, in Frederick, Okla. She died on April 26, 2006. He earned his master's degree from West Texas State University in Canyon. He was a coach in Duncan, Okla., Lawton, Okla., McLean, Amarillo and finally, Tulia. He was an insurance agent for Southwestern Life Insurance Co. since 1960, where he won numerous awards including being a member of the Million Dollar Round Table for several years. He was also on the State Insurance Board. He was a past president of the Tulia Chamber of Commerce and was a member of Central Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Earline Rogers; a grandson, Jayde Arnold; and a great-grandson, Cortlyn Arnold. She married Billy B. Gibson on April 8, 1944, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 1982. She then married Emory Carroll "Red" Stone on Aug. 15, 1986, in Canyon, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 2000. She had worked much of life in the cotton business, both as a bookkeeper and later as a cotton buyer. She was a member of Club 51 in Memphis, and had been an active volunteer with Olivia's Angels in Amarillo. She was a member of The Church at Quail Creek. She was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Fowler.
