Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Central Church of Christ. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery by Criswell Funeral Home. Miss Mooring was born Aug. 17, 1962, in Amarillo, Texas, to Arlis and Sandra Bownds Mooring. She attended Clarendon, Texas, schools and graduated from Clarendon High School and also Clarendon Junior College. She and her family moved to Ada in 1986 from Clarendon. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sandra Mooring; and a brother, Joe Kent Mooring. Survivors include her father of Ada; a brother, Rick Mooring and wife Lauri of Edmond; and a niece, Nicole Mooring of Edmond. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Amarillo Garland "Bunk" Horton Sr. Garland "Bunk" Horton Sr., 93, of Amarillo died Friday, Feb. 16, 2007. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Llano Cemetery with Bradley Speer, pastor of Southwest Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Horton's favorite hobbies included hiking at Palo Duro Canyon and fishing at Lake Tangelwood. He also enjoyed woodworking with his son. He retired from ASARCO after having worked there 25 years. He had been a deacon at Southwest Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vada, on April 12, 2004; and a son, Allen Dean Horton, in October 2004. Survivors include a son, Garland M. Horton Jr. and wife Christi of Amarillo; two granddaughters, Janice Arcabiscio and husband Tony of Canyon and Kim Horton of Dallas; two grandsons, John Horton and Joe Horton, both of Dallas; a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Arcabiscio of Canyon; and a great-grandson, Ian Horton of Dallas; a sister, Jane Brown of Dumas; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Citizen's Cemetery in Clarendon with U.S. Army military honors. Arrangements are by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive, in Amarillo. Mr. Anderson was born April 11, 1920, in Bowie County to Joe and Minnie Lee Anderson. He spent his childhood in Bowie County, where he grew up on the family farm. He also lived in Tahoka for several years. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he was stationed in the Philippines. Jack had lived in Amarillo for more than 40 years at the time of his death. He was proud to be an American and was loved by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by a son, Jackie Anderson in 2006; and an aunt, Mamie Cunningham in 2002. Survivors include a brother, Bill Anderson of Lebanon, Tenn.; his special friends, Steve and Sandie Woods and family, Darrel Brogdan and family and Glenda Pulliam and family; and his special caregiver, Lori Johnson of Bivins Retirement Center. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- David Wm. Cale David Wm. Cale, 75, of Amarillo died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007. Memorial services were Thursday in the Panhandle Arts Center. Burial was in Llano East Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Cale was born April 8, 1931, in Wichita, Kan., to Herbert William Cale and Hilda Irene Plant. He served in the U.S. Navy in Guam, the Philippines and Japan from 1950 to 1954. After his discharge, Mr. Cale attended the University of Wichita in Kansas where, in 1960, he obtained a bachelor of fine arts degree cum laude, majoring in drawing and painting. During this time, he and fellow artists established Bottega Gallery, a studio and salon widely acknowledged as an incubator for major Kansas visual artists working in the modern style. From 1962 through 1965, he attended Wichita State University, earning a master of fine arts degree in painting and printmaking. Mr. Cale was employed as an illustrator at Boeing Aircraft and served as acting director of the Art Division at the Institute of Logopedics. The school served autistic and special needs students and is now known as Heartspring School. Mr. Cale married Gertrude Jen Shunatona in 1961, and in 1965 moved his young family to Amarillo, where he enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a professor of art at Amarillo College, teaching painting, two-dimensional design and drawing. For several years, Mr. Cale was a member of Colony Katherine, an artists collective that produced works from a studio perched on the rim of Palo Duro Canyon. He developed a lifelong admiration for the raw and beautiful High Plains landscape, producing a series of canyon-inspired drawings and watercolors created during numerous hikes and day trips. Mr. Cale, with his wife Jen, who passed away Dec. 5, 2006, started the Native American association, NABCAPS, and served as "High Sycamore" for the group's high-spirited meetings. After his retirement from AC in 1993, he challenged himself to rediscover and refine many of the techniques he enjoyed passing on to his students during the 28 years of his teaching career. Mr. Cale's works have been shown in galleries around the world and have become part of numerous public and private collections, including The Permanent Print and Drawing Collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum (London), The Royal Collection, (Buckingham Palace), The School of Art at the University of Manitoba (Canada), the David E. and Vivian Bernard Collection, The Wichita Museum of Art, The Little Rock Art Association, Wichita State University, Amarillo College, The University of Minnesota at Morris and Western New Mexico University at Silver City, among others. Survivors include a brother, Roger Cale of Fontana, Calif.; two daughters, Kateri Cale of Dallas and Jen Renee Cale of Amarillo; a son, Charles Cale of Austin; and three grandsons, Travis, Cale and Bennett of Amarillo. The family suggests memorials be to Partners in Palo Duro Canyon Foundation, 11450 Park Road 5, Canyon, TX 79015. The foundation exists to support the upkeep of the canyon. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Donna McKee Donna McKee, 53, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Donna was a hardworking mom to her family and others. She worked in health care for Nurses Unlimited for many years. Donna has gone to a final and just reward and will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her mother, Juanita Thurston of Amarillo. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother and friend to those who knew her. She loved to listen to music and dance. Vicky was a big race fan and loved spending time with her family and friends. Vicky will be loved and missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Stella Austin; and two brothers, Troyce and Bobby Austin. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon. Mrs. Lewis was born Aug. 5, 1924, in Clarendon to Earl and Elizabeth Wisdom Lafon. She married Ernest Leland Lewis on Jan. 14, 1940, in Hollis, Okla. She was a homemaker and a bus driver, and was a registered nurse for the Sweetwater Hospital, Groom Memorial Hospital and Northwest Texas Hospital. She was a Church of Christ member. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Oct. 30, 1986; two sons, Billy and Larry Lewis; and all her brothers and sisters. Survivors include three sons, Ernest C. Lewis and wife Chris of Amarillo, Millard Howell Lewis and wife Charlene of Groom and Robert Leland "Bob" Lewis and wife Janet of Lubbock; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean. Arrangements are by Elliott- Hamil Funeral Home. Mrs. Grigsby had been residing in a nursing home in Merkel for the past nine months. Born Oct. 17, 1906, in Glen Rose, she was the first of T.A. and Emma Landers' eight children of whom LeRoy, Mildred, Fern, Madge, Floye, Marie and Don all preceded her in death. Vivian was a young girl when her family moved to McLean, where she lived most of her life. She met and married Arlie L. Grigsby there on Sept. 2, 1925. He died on Aug. 25, 1974. Vivian will be remembered for her caring nature, generosity, hard work and humility. She was noted for baking biscuits, cookies and pies. She enjoyed growing irises and continued to tend them until age 99. Vivian was a member of First Baptist Church in McLean most of her life, and looked forward to being with her Lord and Savior. She was also preceded in death by her two eldest children, Jack on Jan. 11, 2006, and Joyce on Aug. 15, 2004. Survivors include a son, David; two daughters, Arline and Emme; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jimmy D. White SPRINGTOWN - Jimmy D. White, 70, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007, in Fort Worth. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church in Stinnett. Mr. White was born July 1, 1936, in Plainview to Eugene and Pearl Anderson White. He lived in Springtown for eight years and was a member of First Baptist Church in Springtown. Mrs. Flood was born May 13, 1925, in Comanche County, Okla., the daughter of Stephen and Irene Sanders. She married Ben Flood on July 22, 1944, in Lawton, Okla. Mrs. Flood was a homemaker and a member of Hereford Central Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter; and a sister. Survivors include three sons, Ernest Flood and wife Carmen, Darrell Flood and wife Jackie and Joe Flood and wife Karen, all of Hereford; a daughter, Kathryn Musser of Hereford; two brothers; five sisters; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 276th Ordnance Armored Division in the Normandy Invasion. Mrs. Hayes was born Feb. 16, 1927, in Duke, Okla., to George and Nora Mae Brawley. She married Calvin Hayes on July 22, 1950, in Wellington. She was an avid bridge player and loved children, her computer and family genealogy. She was an expert seamstress. Mrs. Hayes was a member of Sunray Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
