Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor of Central Baptist Church, officiating. Mrs. Hobbs was born on Nov. 20, 1919, in Walters, Okla., where she attended school. She married Lee Hobbs on Nov. 5, 1945, in Burkburnett. Survivors include her husband; a son, Dan Hobbs of Pampa; a brother, Athel Normal of Walters, Okla.; and two granddaughters. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marilee Osborn PAMPA - Marilee Osborn, 75, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, in Pampa. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Osborn was born Feb. 11, 1932, in Brownwood. She married Kenneth Osborn on Aug. 24, 1951, in Pampa. Survivors include two sons, Doug Osborn of Bennett, Colo., and Steve Osborn of Pampa; a brother, Bill Conklin of Lubbock; and seven grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Billy Neal Stovall PAMPA - Billy Neal Stovall, 76, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, in St. John, Virgin Islands. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Johnny Funderburg, pastor, officiating. Burial with military rites by the U.S. Air Force will follow in Altus, Okla., by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Stovall was born May 15, 1930, in Dalhart to Lamon & Inez Webster Stovall. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1934. Survivors include his wife, Betty Stovall; two daughters, Cindy Moore and husband Scott of Pampa; and Linda Patton and husband David of McKinney; a son, Michael Cooper of Pampa; a sister, Patsy Martin of Denver, Colo.; seven grandchildren, William Sharpton, Melisa Jones and Rebecca Moore, all of Pampa, Keevin Wallin of Florida, Jason Vickery of Vermont, Kristy Sharpton of Corpus Christi and Kayla Wallin of Elk City, Okla.; and five great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Carl W. "Bill" Jones TULIA - Carl W. "Bill" Jones, 85, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Mr. Jones was born May 1, 1921, in Swisher County to Mary Dover and William Riley Jones. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, after which he owned and operated Bill's Beauty Shop in Tulia since 1946. He married Mildred Jones on July 30, 1956, in Clovis, N.M. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents, a brother, Jack; a sister, Dorothy; two half brothers, Dover and Ben Pearson; and two grandchildren, Scott and January Thompson. Survivors include a step-daughter, Carolyn Pearson of Cottonwood, Ariz., a grandson, John Pearson of Phoenix; and a nephew, Allen Jones of Denver. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- AMARILLO Gene E. Penn Gene E. Penn, 74, of Amarillo died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Penn was born June 1, 1932, in Arkadelphia, Ala., to Louis Leonard and Alice Penn. He worked most of his life in the grocery business. Mr. Penn married Saundra Richburg on Jan. 16, 1971, in Panhandle. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Symrl. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dennis Penn and wife Lisa of Indian Trail, N.C., and David Penn and wife Rhonda of Amarillo; a daughter, Karen Peterson and husband Bruce of Spring; sister, Margaret Smith of Pascagoula, Mo.; a brother, Paul Penn of Trussville, Ala.; 16 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Ms. Price was born Jan. 18, 1923, in Winslow, Ariz., to Frank and Lucy Price. She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone and was a member of the Pioneer Women's Club. She also loved to garden and work in her yard. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Vaughn Dale Price and Donald Price; and a sister, Elizabeth McGahey. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Washington Avenue Christian Church with the Rev. Jim Shelburne officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Ricenbaw was born in Carroll, Iowa, on Oct. 13, 1939, to Guy and Faye Carpenter. She moved to Amarillo in 1979 from Clinton, Okla. She was a member of Washington Avenue Christian Church. Mrs. Ricenbaw retired from Cargill after over 20 years in the accounting department. After retirement, she went to work for Plains Transportation, where she worked until her death. She loved her family dearly, especially her precious grandchildren, and enjoyed the occasional Bunco game. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers. Survivors include two daughters, Terrie Walker and husband Bruce of Weatherford, Okla., and Susan Shelton and husband Brian of Amarillo; three sons, Mark Ricenbaw and wife Diana and Rusty Ricenbaw and wife Rhonda, all of Amarillo, and Brian Ricenbaw and wife Angie of Sahuarita, Ariz.; a sister, Norma Bierl of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and 12 grandchildren, Lane, Kelsey, Ryan, Scott, Chris, Brad, Katy, Braydon, Avery, Bryson, Allison and Ashley. Tanner, 80, of Amarillo died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007. Murle was born April 12, 1926, in Amarillo to H.H. Tanner and Bertie Lee Tanner. He was raised in Amarillo, and was one of 9 children. He attended school in Amarillo and, after serving in the United States Navy, Mr. Tanner returned to Amarillo and married Billie Smith on July 3, 1947. In June of 1950, he went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad, retiring in 1990 after 40 years of service. Mr. Tanner was a charter member of the original Highland Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. At the time of his death, he was a deacon at South Georgia Baptist Church. . He was preceded by his parents, 5 sisters and 3 bothers. Survivors include his wife of almost 60 years, Billie; two daughters Nancy Tanner of Amarillo and Karen Myers of McKinney; two sons, Mike Tanner and wife Cathy of San Antonio and Doug Tanner and wife Shrese of Amarillo; eight grandchildren, Jason Langford, Amy Cassles, Sarah Myers, Vanessa Myers, Tammy Defoe, Corey Tanner, Collin Tanner and Lauren Tanner; four great- grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Jo Ann Banks of Amarillo. "Shorty" Strickland BUFFALO, Okla. - Lemuel D. "Shorty" Strickland, 67, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2007, in Enid. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Highpoint Cemetery with the Rev. Helen Edwards was born May 20, 1929, in Weinert to Robert S. and Myrtle Helen Edwards. She married Don Johnson on Sept. 3, 1948. He preceded her in death on Aug. 14, 1985. She then married Alton Blewer on June 20, 1987. He preceded her in death on April 12, 1996. Helen loved her family and friends. She was very involved in her church, Oakwood United Methodist Church. She loved to play bridge with her buddies and she enjoyed playing the piano. Helen was a Lady Raider Fan until the end. She volunteered numerous hours for Meals on Wheels of Lubbock. She was an active member of THEOS since 1985. Helen loved playing with her six great- granddaughters. She was also preceded in death by her parents; seven siblings; and a daughter, Lauri Rhae Johnson on April 16, 1972. Survivors include a daughter, Toni Golden and husband, Jerry of Canadian; two granddaughters, Donna Parker and husband Randy of Anton and Tammy Edgemon and her husband Trevor of Littlefield; six great grandchildren, Britni, Courtni and Ashtyn Parker and Kaylee, Kaitlyn and Kyndal Edgemon; a stepdaughter, Alison King of Lubbock; and two brothers, H.G.
