Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Garmon, pastor, and the Rev. Roger Smith, pastor of the Community Fellowship Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Citizens Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors. Mrs. Graham was born Oct. 3, 1917, in Goodnight to Carl and Nova Hinkle Barker. She married William Doyce Graham on Oct. 10, 1937, in Ashtola. She had been a school teacher at the Goldston and Ashtola schools, had worked as a bookkeeper for the gin, and was a banker at the Farmer's State Bank prior to her retirement. She was a member of the 1926 Book Club and was also a member of The Circle at the First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Graham taught Sunday School and was a faithful worker for her church. She was a lifelong resident of Donley County and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clarendon. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Sept. 24, 1984; a brother; and two sisters. Survivors include three sons, Mike Graham of Clarendon, Doyce Graham Jr. and wife Linda of Clemson, S.C., and James Graham and wife Rachel of Creve Coeur, Mo.; a brother, Don Barker and wife Gay of Amarillo; three sisters, Mildred Tomlinson of Bartlesville, Okla., Mary Murff and husband Mike and Nova Mooring and husband Bill, all of Clarendon; and a sister-in-law, Vonnie Barker of Groom; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Arrangements were by Brooks Funeral Directors. Mr. Price was born Oct. 21, 1936, in Vega. He was involved in farming and ranching. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Price; a daughter, Kim Heathington of Canyon; a son, Vince Price of Plano; a brother, Wilburn Price of Vega; a sister, Wanda Milburn of Vega; two grandchildren; and three great- granddaughters. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lorine McAnear CLARENDON - Lorine McAnear, 88, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Clarendon First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bryan Knowles, retired Baptist minister, and Ralph Harmon of Amarillo officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors. Lorine was born June 10, 1918, in Gurdon, Ark. She moved with her family to Texas in 1924. She went to elementary and high school at the Goldston Community School, north of Clarendon. She was a great basketball player while attending school there. Lorine married Alexander Selkirk McAnear on Oct. 26, 1935, at the First Baptist Parsonage in Clarendon. Lorine and Kirk lived the majority of their lives in Goodnight, where they farmed and raised their seven children. They later moved to Clarendon in 1969. Lorine was dearly loved by her family which she gave of herself above and beyond until her death. Her greatest desire was to see her children realize the bonds of a family and its importance, and to know that each of them would know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. She spent many hours singing songs to her children and grandchildren and telling them stories of her past. She enjoyed sewing for her family and was a member of many different quilting clubs. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clarendon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kirk McAnear on Aug. 22, 1979; four sisters; and five brothers. Survivors include five daughters, Barbara Harmon and husband Ralph, Judy Monk and husband Bill, and Sheliah Babbitt, all of Amarillo, Brenda Barrett of Canyon and Deborah Land and husband Steve of Panhandle; two sons, Jimmy McAnear and wife Pat and Cody McAnear, all of Clarendon; a sister, Martiel Webb of Amarillo; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Stovall was born May 15, 1930, in Dalhart to Lamon & Inez Webster Stovall. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1934. Survivors include his wife, Betty Stovall; two daughters, Cindy Moore of Pampa and Linda Patton of McKinney; a son, Michael Cooper of Pampa; a sister, Patsy Martin of Denver, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Virginia Lee Raillard CANYON - Virginia Lee Raillard, 89, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, in Amarillo. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church of Canyon with Dr. David Lowrie, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors. Mrs. Raillard was born Feb. 10, 1918, in Groom, the only child of Oliver Lee Fortenberry and Jasie Juanita Weatherly. She graduated from Wellington High School. She attended Mary-Hardin Baylor, and graduated from West Texas State Teachers College in 1940. She taught in public schools in the Texarkana School District during the early 1940's and married Raymond W. Raillard on Aug. 6, 1942. She did graduate work in Speech and English at West Texas State University in the 1960's and was later on the staff of Gene Howe Elementary School in Amarillo in the 1970's. She also worked in the front of the house at the 'Texas' Musical Drama from 1966 until her husband's retirement, managing the gift shop. She made many trips to Europe in her retirement years with her husband. She was a longtime resident of Canyon, where she was involved in many activities, including church choir, Boy Scouts, and the 'Sweet Adelaides.' She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Canyon. She will be remembered for her kindheartedness and graciousness which she extended to everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond W. Raillard; and a son, Miles Timothy Raillard. Survivors include two sons, Raymond Mark Raillard and wife Joan of Dallas and Michael Lee Raillard of Amarillo; and many loving friends. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wanda McKay DUMAS - Wanda McKay, 71, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Jay McGaughy officiating. Burial will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors. Wanda was born Nov. 9, 1935, in Rising Star. On Dec. 4, 1953, she married Harold McKay, who preceded her in death on May 27, 1991. She had been a resident of Dumas since 1946. Wanda loved children and took care of many children in her home. Survivors include two daughters, Jodi Montoya and husband Lee of Dumas and LaQueta Burkeen and husband, JR of Shamrock; a son, Ray McKay and wife Des of Dumas; a sister, Dot McEntire and husband Don of Dumas; eight grandchildren, Troy, Tammy, Traysha, Dustin, Casey, Brandon, Anjelica and Felicia; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Trinity Fellowship Church with the Rev. John Love officiating. She was born July 2, 1972, in Santa Fe, N.M. She graduated from Amarillo High School. Survivors include her parents; a son; sister; and brothers. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lydia Hegar Griggs Lydia Hegar Griggs, 98, formerly of Amarillo died Monday, Feb. 19, 2007. Celebration of life services will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Hodges Chapel of Lubbock First Christian Church with Roy Wheeler, pastor of Hillside Christian Church officiating. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Llano Mausoleum by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd, Amarillo, Texas. Lydia was born Oct. 17, 1908, in the town of West. She was the youngest of five children of Czech immigrants Josef and Frantiska Hegar. She graduated from West High School and received her registered nurse diploma from Scott and White in Temple. She practiced her profession in Amarillo for many years. She married Samuel M. Tidwell in 1930. They lived in Clovis, N.M., until moving to Amarillo in 1944. Samuel preceded her in death in 1959. She married Alfred N. Griggs in 1961. Following his death in 1972 she moved to Joplin, Mo. Her last move was to Lubbock in 2001 to be near family. Lydia was a charter member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church in Amarillo and was currently a member of First Christian Church of Lubbock. She taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and joyously shared her faith with all. She was an active volunteer in her church and community and was a friend to many. She particularly enjoyed entertaining, playing bridge, reading, traveling and gardening, where she spent a great deal of time waging a never-ending battle with dandelions. She passed to her eternal reward on February 19, 2007. A son, Sam Tidwell, Jr., preceded her in death in 1990. Survivors include a daughter, Frances Ansley and husband Leslie of Lubbock; a son, Dwayne Tidwell and wife Elizabeth of Topeka, Kan.; former daughter-in-law Carol Tidwell of San Diego; four grandchildren, Bruce Ansley of Baltimore, Leslie Klingensmith and husband Kerry of Grapevine, Tiffany Tidwell and husband Mark Pett of Indianola, Miss., and Justin Tidwell and wife Julie of Lubbock; and six great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Matthew Klingensmith, Celeste Ansley and Jackson, Caroline and Ansley Tidwell. She graduated from Caprock High School. She loved to be creative. She was a cake decorator and pursued her dream of having her cake designs on cakes all over the world. Tanner Murle A. Tanner, 80, of Amarillo died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in South Georgia Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Miller, pastor, and the Rev. Robert Field officiating. A private burial will be in Llano Cemetery by N.S. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Murle was born April 12, 1926 in Amarillo, Texas to H.H. Tanner and Bertie Lee Tanner. He was raised in Amarillo, and was one of 9 children. He attended school in Amarillo and, after serving in the United States Navy, Mr. Tanner returned to Amarillo and married Billie Smith on July 3, 1947. In June of 1950, he went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad, retiring in 1990 after 40 years of service. Mr. Tanner was a charter member of the original Highland Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. At the time of his death, he was a deacon at South Georgia Baptist Church. He was preceded by his parents; five sisters; and three bothers. Survivors include his wife of almost 60 years, Billie; two daughters Nancy Tanner of Amarillo and Karen Myers of McKinney; two sons, Mike Tanner and wife Cathy of San Antonio and Doug Tanner and wife Shrese of Amarillo; eight grandchildren, Jason Langford, Amy Cassles, Sarah Myers, Vanessa Myers, Tammy Defoe, Corey Tanner, Collin Tanner and Lauren Tanner; four great- grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Jo Ann Banks of Amarillo. Smith Edward C. Smith, 86, of Amarillo died Feb. 16, 2007. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Covenant Fellowship Church with the Rev. Stephen Gaines officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home. Mr. Smith was born Aug. 13, 1920, in Haswell, Colo., to Herbert A. and Mary Flynn Smith. He was one of three boys. He spent most of his pre-college years in a variety of southern Colorado towns. He left for the service in August 1942 and was stationed in the South Pacific during World War II. He was in the Army Airforce Weather Division. Upon his return in 1945, he attended Colorado A&M and earned a degree in civil engineering (1947). At this time, he moved to Las Animas, Colo., where he met his future bride. He married Emma Viola Blackburn on May 7, 1949 on the family farm, and started work for the Santa Fe Railroad on May 20, 1949, where he remained for 34 years. He transferred to Amarillo in 1950, where he lived for the rest of his life. Mr. Smith was a lifelong member of the San Jacinto United Methodist Church. He was a member and president of Mended Hearts for many years. His favorite hobbies were trout fishing, bowling, and travel with Viola, his wife of 57 years. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gary and wife Cathy of South New Berlin, NY, and Mark and wife Cindy of Woodstock, Ill., a daughter, Debbie of Houston; five grandchildren, Clint Smith, Kara O'Malley, Carly Smith, Carrie Beth Smith, Sean Smith; and four great-grandchildren, Andrew and Addison O'Malley, and Mackenzie and Samantha Smith. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Wilson was born Nov. 1, 1908, in Eastland County to Walter and Mona Johnson. The family moved to Collingsworth County in 1916. She married E.L. Wilson on Oct. 7, 1925. In 1943, they moved to Dumas. Mrs. Wilson worked in sales for Boxwell Furniture store and later for Southern Furniture store in Dumas. She retired in 1973. Later that year, she and her husband moved to Amarillo. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Christian Friendship Class. She was a member of Woodmen of the World. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, E.L., in 1979; a brother; and four sisters. Survivors include three daughters, Margie Barnhart, Wilma Green and husband Harold, all of Amarillo, and Wanda Brady of Las Vegas; a brother, R.B. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Russel was born June 28, 1938, in Pampa. After his family moved to Massachusetts, Russel graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy and Haverford College and attended graduate studies at Harvard University. After designing nuclear submarines with Electric Boat in Connecticut, he returned to Texas as a young adult to work in the irrigation business in Amarillo and raise his family. He spent his career following his passions in designing, building and inventing, with numerous patents to his credit. He moved to San Antonio in 1991 to pursue further business interests, where he eventually retired in 2002. Through it all, Russel indulged in his hobbies of fishing, working with computers and enjoying the exploits of his many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Annie and C.P. Buckler; his parents, Margaret and Russ Allen; a sister, Virginia Anne Allen MacStravic; and a niece, Kristin Anne Shelton. Survivors include his loving wife, Minka Sims Allen; five children, Russel Greene Allen and wife Lauri, Scott Vincent Allen and wife Debbie, Craig Buckler Allen and wife, Kristin, Victoria Roden Johnson and husband Darren and J. C. Roden.; 18 grandchildren who loved playing trucks and talking with their beloved Granddad; three sisters, Mary Allen Cox, Jane Allen Street and husband, Leroy, and Judy Allen Shelton and husband Charlie; a brother-in-law, Joe MacStravic; and two nieces and a nephew. It was a peaceful end to his long, courageous and admirable battle with various illnesses. He left this world after a full life, leaving behind fond memories of his love for family, his intelligence and his pursuit for excellence in everything in which he was involved. Mr. Sanders was born May 9, 1919, in Boise City to William D. and Cora Mae Sanders. He married Willa May Gleaves on May 30, 1942, in Boise City. Memorial services will be Saturday, June 2 in Ute Lake, N.M. Arrangements are by Pitts Chapel. Mrs. Oldham was born June 29, 1931, in Pittsburg, Texas, to William Oscar and Allie Lee Jack Johnson. She attended Springer High School in New Mexico. She was united in marriage to Luke Emanuel Oldham on March 20, 1948, they retired in Tucumcari, N.M., and spent their time fishing at Ute Lake. She liked to bowl, taught junior bowling and liked to read. She was a member of the VFW Post No. 2528 Auxiliary of Tucumcari and was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Leslie "Rusty" Oldham; a stepson, Luke Oldham Jr.; and two grandsons, Joe Heymer and R.B. Toft. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 Georgia St. Mr. Pitts was born Oct. 6, 1942, in Tulia, Texas, to Shirley and Dorothy Pitts. He graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1961. For over thirty six years he worked for SPS before moving to Colorado in 1997 to work for IBM Global Services, where he worked until his death. While living in Amarillo, Mr. Pitts was very active in the Amarillo Little Theater. He also was a member of the Crusader's Gospel Quartet and Trinity Fellowship Christian Church.
