Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with the Rev. Perry Hunsaker of St. Paul United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Redden was born April 14, 1906, in Tell to Charles Mathias Scott and Minnie Lou Bryan Scott. She and her sister attended West Texas State Teachers College in Canyon. She received her B.S. in 1932. Both taught in rural Panhandle schools. She taught at the Amarillo Air Base during World War II. She received her master's degree from the University of Colorado and taught at Baylor University in 1945. She married Herbert Redden in Oregon and she taught in Oregon until her retirement. They moved to Las Cruces, N.M. After his death in 1984, she relocated to Amarillo to be near family. She was a dedicated Southern Baptist and teacher who taught thousands of students. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three brothers, E.T. Scott, Hillyer Scott and Glenn Scott; a sister, Eddie Mae Scott; and a niece, Irene Blaney. Survivors include three nieces, Glennda Scott Cook of Amarillo and Marilyn Culbreth and Marie Terry, both of Oklahoma; three nephews, Bryan Scott of Katy, Bill Scott of Amarillo and Tabor Scott of Fort Worth; and special friends, Sandra McDonald and family and Rhonda Bybee. He worked as a maintenance man for the Childress County Sheriff's Department, and had many friends who loved him. Amos Reeves was born Oct. 25, 1912, in Twitty to Raymond and Myrtle McDonald Reeves. He married Louise Bell on March 25, 1933, in Shamrock. She preceded him in death on March 18, 2002. Mr. Reeves was a farmer and a member of First Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, J.C., Roy and Kenneth Reeves. Norma married Jerry Carr on Sept. 2, 1952, in Pampa. He preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 1972. She then married Billy Rogers on Oct. 12, 1974, in Locust Grove Baptist Church. Norma managed and perpetuated the family business and interest. She was also very active in Relay for Life, Junior Club, Meals on Wheels and a couples bridge club. Norma was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin Wheeler and Kenneth Wheeler; and two sisters, Opal Kent and Willa Dean Sorensen.
