Services will be at later date. Mr. Carey was born Dec. 22 1982. He will be missed by many close friends and family. Survivors include a son, Alex Castle; his parents, Jerry and Sandy Carey; two brothers, Nick Carey and Michael Carey; and a sister, Leah Carey. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nina Mae Johnson Nina Mae Johnson, 85, of Amarillo, formerly of Borger, died Thursday, March 1, 2007. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church in Borger with the Rev. Don Boren officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery in Borger by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. Johnson was born Sept. 27, 1921, in Shamrock, Okla., to Frank T. and Zelma Cooper Ellis. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church and numerous clubs at the church. Survivors include a son, Dan Johnson of Stinnett; a daughter, Terri Walker of Borger; a sister, Freda P. Ellis of West Plains, Mo.; a brother, Rendon Ellis of Andover, Kan.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to First United Methodist Church, 200 N. McGee, Borger, TX 79007. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Patsy Ruth Pope Patsy Ruth Pope, 94, formerly of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, in Chesapeake, Va. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Llano Cemetery with Jeff Raines, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Patsy married Irvin Pope in 1934 in Oklahoma. They settled in Amarillo and lived here for many years before moving to California, where they lived from 1960 to 1981, moving back home to Amarillo after retirement. She and her husband saw the world before he preceded her in death in 1998 after 64 years of marriage. Throughout her life she had enjoyed the craft of hooked rug making. She would often create rugs that matched the hobbies or personality of the person she was giving it to. Mrs. Pope will live in the hearts of the many who loved her and her rugs will keep her memory alive. Mrs. Pope lived in Virginia for the past eight and a half years and was still a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Rex and wife Pat of Virginia Beach, Va.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren, all of Virginia and Massachusetts; and a sister, Bobbie Lytle of Danville, Calif. Mr. Reynolds was born Feb. 1, 1927, in Arkansas to James Albert and Mary Ethel Reynolds. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and he married Jewel Haddock in 1998. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita; three children; his parents; eight brothers; and three sisters. Mrs. Brown was born Feb. 28, 1922, in Giles, Donley County, to Marvin and Cora Cline Bramblett. She had been a resident of Hedley most of her life and had lived in Brownwood for the past three months. She married Roy Brown on Nov. 14, 1937, in Lelia Lake. He preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 1999. She was an avid quilter, and had received recognition on many occasions for her quilt-making talent and for donating her quilts to various organizations. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Hedley.
