Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bud Kidwell officiating and Mr. Martyn's son, Dr. Stephen Martyn assisting. Burial will follow in Quanah Memorial Park by Smith Funeral Home. Mr. Martyn was born May 8, 1926, in Minot, N.D., to Florence and Dewey Martyn. He married Dorothy Jean Harrison on Dec. 31, 1949. Survivors include his wife; a son, Dr. Stephen L. Martyn of Lexington, Ken.; two daughters, Leslie A. Wilson of Artesia, N.M. and Carrie J. Spears of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Jack Martyn of Yukon, Okla; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 397, Quanah, TX 79252. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ellen Tuanette Finney PAMPA - Ellen Tuanette Finney, 93, died Monday, March 5, 2007, in Amarillo. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Pulliam Funeral Home Chapel in Oblong, Ill. Local arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Finney was born April 10, 1913, in Oblong. She married Warren D. Finney on Oct. 3, 1937, in Oblong. He preceded her in death in 1985. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1954. She was a former member of the Seeds Chapel Methodist Church in Oblong, and was a current member of the Highland Baptist Church and the Esther Sunday School Class in Pampa. Visitation will be Friday Evening in Pulliam Funeral Home. Survivors include two sons, Ronald Finney of Amarillo and Alan Finney of Perryton; a daughter, Phyllis Velasquez of Amarillo; two sisters, Leta Albert of Indianapolis and Mildred Armstrong of Greenwood, Ind.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Lukas was a sophomore at Paducah High School and very active in the sports programs. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Stratford Cemetery with Rodney Weatherly officiating. Mrs. Raymond was born March 22, 1963, in Dumas to Kenneth and Jimmie Dale Davis Knight. She was raised in Stratford. She attended Amarillo College, studying medical administration. She moved to Dallas, where she worked for Baylor Medical Center. She then moved to Kaufman in 1990, where she was a member of the Cottage Heights Baptist Church. She married Rickey Raymond on Oct. 18, 1990, in Kaufman. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Rob Knight; and a sister, Debbie Knight. Survivors include her husband; her parents; a brother, Roy Knight of Dalhart; a stepsister, Tammie Gerber of Bushland; and many other relatives and friends. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ruby Galloway McElroy TULIA - Ruby Galloway McElroy, 79, died Tuesday, March 6, 2007. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. James Hassell officiating and the Rev. Terry Hart, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, assisting. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery by Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mrs. McElroy was born Feb. 10, 1928, in Arkansas. She married Dallas Galloway on Oct. 16, 1943, in Marietta, Okla. They came to Tulia in 1959. Mr. Galloway died Feb. 18, 1971. She worked at the local nursing home and hospital as a cook. She married O.T. McElroy on June 22, 1979. Mr. McElroy died July 19, 2004. She is also preceded in death by a son, Wayne Galloway. Survivors include two sons, Joe Galloway of Tulia and Wayne McElroy of Perryton; six daughters, Phyllis Beaty of Mesa, Ariz., Brenda Raymond and Christy Keeter, both of Tulia, Donna Chong of Evanston, Ill., Cindy Cruz of Fort Worth and Gay Doughten of Stinnett; a brother, Howard Huneycutt of Gainesville; a sister, Rachel Huneycutt; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter St., with Donna Johnston of BSA Hospice officiating. Mr. Davis was born in Amarillo. He graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1970. After high school, he worked for the Rock Island Railroad until their closure. He also worked for Santa Fe Railway. In 1984, he began working at Pantex. At the time of his death he was working as the section manager in shipping and receiving. Mr. Davis loved bowling and playing golf. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He married Jannell Davis in 1972 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Amy Michelle Davis and Lisa Marie Davis, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Beverly Ballard and Carolyn McCarty, both of Dallas; three brothers, Ernie Davis, Mike Davis and Phil Davis, all of Amarillo; his mother Maxine Davis of Amarillo; and his granddaughter, Hallie Davis of Amarillo. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Handley was born Oct. 19, 1919, in Washburn to James and Florence Handley. He married Bobbie Jo Bunch on May 15, 1954, in Amarillo. Mr. Handley served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and had worked as a conductor for the Santa Fe Railroad. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and loved to fish. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Mike Handley, Jerry Handley and Charles Handley, all of Amarillo, and Patrick Handley of Carrizo Springs; a daughter, Barbara Williams; two sisters, Eunice Lutz and Florence Helms, both of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Seventh Day Adventist Church with Brother Sean Robinson officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Bill was born July 10, 1917, in Dalhart to Fern Pendleton and W.W. Steel Sr. He graduated from Stratford High School in 1935 and entered the service in 1940 and served in the 8th Air Force Division in England. In 1945, Mr. Steel married Elizabeth Johnson. Bill was self-employed as a welder and also operated a commercial egg farm business in Dumas. In 1997, he married Bettie Womack, his true soulmate. Bill was a member of the Worldwide Church of God. He was a true example of God's love and his faithfulness lasted until the end. Survivors include his wife, Bettie Steel; a son, Carl Steel of Oklahoma City; three daughters, Karen Spoor of Gladstone, Mo., Lois Metz and husband Ralph of Dallas and Donna Kay Steel of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Marissa Hallauer and husband Nick and Caitlyn and Austin; a brother, Robert Steel of Corpus Christi; eight stepchildren, Ben Womack, Noralee Tyler, Kelly Womack, Shannon Lee, Rae Bellamy, Carolinne Lasley, Wes Womack and Leonard Womack; 12 stepgrandchildren; 12 stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. Sue Hall Randal was born May 6, 1936, in Memphis. She graduated from Lakeview High School in 1952, and then attended Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, graduating with a bachelor of science in education in 1956. Sue then returned to Lakeview, where she taught high school English until she decided to stay home and raise her three beautiful daughters. Sue married Joe "Corky" Randal on June 27, 1959, in Memphis. They moved to Amarillo in 1960. She attended Paramount Terrace Christian Church, now Hillside Christian Church, where she had been a member since 1960. She had been active in the choir, Women's Circle, and she taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She was an active member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry. Sue was a member of Canyon Country Club, where she was an avid golfer. She was a member of the Hi Plains Golf Association and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to sew, crochet, do needlework, play golf and read. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Doyle and Nadine Hall; and two sisters, Reba Dean Hall and Bobbie Brandon. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Linda Beth Sjerven and husband Kim of St Louis, Mo., Melissa Chittenden and husband Bruce of Glenpool, Okla., and Jennifer McCaw and husband Patrick of Tyler; a sister, Linda Gaylynn Smart and husband Roger of Glenford, Ohio; two granddaughters, Kyla Chittenden of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Jodi Sjerven of St. Louis; three grandsons, Joel Sjerven and Jeff Sjerven, both of St. Louis, and Clay Chittenden of Glenpool; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
