Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with the Rev. Robert Field, retired Baptist minister, presiding. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Hill was born Jan. 25, 1923, in Harrisburg, Ill., to Spencer and Lillie Hill. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lenora, in January. They would have been married 61 years on Jan. 13 of this year. Survivors include his children, Charles W. Hill and E. L. Hill and wife Maggie, all of Amarillo, James Hill and wife Althea of Bullhead City, Ariz., Kathy Gorman and husband Howard of Peoria, Ill. and David Hill and wife Ellen of Pekin, Ill.; and a sister, Martha Anderson. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mary Joe Brady Mary Joe Brady, 80, of Amarillo died Thursday, March 8, 2007. Mrs. Brady was born Oct. 18, 1926, in Hedley. She was a much-loved woman who loved to dance, sing and play bingo at Jan Werner Adult Day Care. She will be dearly missed but we know that she is in Jesus' arms now and not hurting any longer. She was preceded in death by her mother, Pansy; her father, Ira; a sister, Velma; and a great-grandson, Mickey. Mrs. Duffie was born Nov. 7, 1931, in Center Point, Ark., to Lewis and Lottie Bell Wakefield. She worked for many years at the Amarillo post office. She was a loving mother, wife, sister and auntie who loved football and baseball. Everyone will remember her for her keen wit and optimism. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis "Red" Duffie, in 2002; a son, Robin Parker, in 1990; her parents; two brothers, Coy Wakefield and Lewis Wakefield; and a sister, Billie Wakefield. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Palo Duro Cemetery, south of Wildorado, with John Elser, chaplain of the VA Hospital officiating. Arrangements are by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. LeGrand was born Mar. 28, 1943, in Amarillo to John and Anna LeGrand. He went to Canyon High School and later earned his associate degree in industrial mechanics from Amarillo College. He served our country in the U.S. Army from 1965 through 1967 while stationed in Fort Polk, La., Fort Sam Houston, Thailand and also served in Vietnam. He married Brenda Thornburg in Amarillo in 1988. He worked as a mechanic machinist at ASARCO for more than 20 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Panhandle. He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Robert LeGrand; and a sister, Kay LeGrand. Survivors include his wife; his mother, Anna LeGrand of Amarillo; a son, David LeGrand of Amarillo; two daughters, Angela LeGrand and Cynthia LeGrand, both of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Kaley Walls-LeGrand of Amarillo; a brother, Richard LeGrand and wife Pam of Amarillo; and a sister, Pat "Sissy" Woodall and husband Woody of Little Rock, Ark. Georgia St. Mrs. Blackburn was born in Childress and moved to Amarillo at a young age. She graduated from Amarillo High School. She married Wyatt W. Blackburn in 1949. He passed away in 2000. She was a bookkeeper for General Office Supply for many years. She was a member of Bell Avenue Church of Christ. She was also preceded in death by a son, Daven Morris Blackburn, in 1993. Survivors include a daughter, Vicki Blackburn of Euless; a son, Wyatt D. Blackburn and wife Debbie of Southlake; two sisters, Nelda "Spud" Wortham of Amarillo and Mary Branam of Canyon Country, Calif.; two grandchildren, Woodie and Taylor Blackburn of Southlake; and numerous nieces and nephews. Loren was born Aug. 18, 1943, in Arkansas to Joseph and Johanna Hensel Young. Loren was raised and attended school in the Littlefield, Texas, area, graduating from Spade High School in 1963. He went on to West Texas State in Canyon, Texas, and then to Bible College in Waxahachie, Texas. Loren later moved to Springfield, Mo., and attended Bible college. He met Margaret McBroom and they married in 1966. He moved to Weatherford, where he met and married Johnette McCrary Seigler, making their home here. Loren enjoyed antique cars and working on things as a handyman. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
