Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Monte Lumpkin, minister of Goodlett Baptist Church, officiating and Donny Knight of Dallas assisting. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Hart Cemetery in Breckenridge by Smith Funeral Home. Mrs. Bufkin was born Oct. 29, 1909, in Brown County to Leonard Henry Wilson and Myrtle Adeline Keith Wilson. She married David Francis Bufkin in June 1930 in Brown County. Survivors include three daughters, Bernell Miller of Quanah, Judy Dorn of Redrock, N.M., and Carol Ann Stefanik of Redmond, Wash.; 22 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Glen D. Sanders WHEELER - Glen D. Sanders, 70, died Friday, March 9, 2007, in Oklahoma City. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Holman, nephew, of First Baptist Church in Lubbock, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home. Mr. Sanders, surrounded by his family, passed from this life to be with the Lord on Friday. Glen Dale Sanders was born May 22, 1936, in the Wheeler Hospital to M.M. and Effie Jones Sanders. He was a retired electrician who had worked all over the world. He retired in 1999. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of First Baptist Church in Wheeler. He enjoyed traveling, family reunions, attending and supporting the students at school functions and eating breakfast and drinking coffee with his friends. He was a true "Wheelerite" and will be missed by his friends and loving family. The family would like to express sincere gratitude for the doctors and nurses at Presbyterian Hospital for their tender concern and care during his hospitalization. Glen loved his family and his Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, L. Lindon and Weldon Sanders. Survivors include a son, Dale Sanders and wife Laurie of Warrenton, Va.; a daughter, Ramona Grogan and husband Billy of Remington, Va.; two brothers, M.M. Sanders Jr. of Wolfforth and Raymond Sanders of Westminster, Colo.; two sisters, Dixie Gaines of Wheeler and Juanita Starnes of Fort Worth; five grandchildren, Janice, Jeffery, Matt, Kevin and Rachel; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Clark was born Feb. 27, 1927, in Wichita Falls to Gracye D. Shamburger Clark and Eugene B. Clark Sr. He attended Kemper Military School and joined Merchant Marines in December 1944. He served in the South Pacific until the Japanese surrendered in late 1945. He was discharged from Merchant Marines in 1946. He attended the University of Texas and went into family oil and gas business until joining the U.S. Marine Corps in 1950 through January 1952. He returned to the family oil and gas business in Texas and Canada and ranching interest in the northern Panhandle of Texas. Mr. Clark lived in Denver and his ranch in Texline for 20 years; he then moved to Amarillo in 1998. In 1987, he married Ruth C. Clark in Denver. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Bragg Clark and Kiel Clark and wife Maryolys, all of Richmond, Va., and Jim Hopson and wife Laurine of Canby, Minn.; a daughter, Patricia Johnson and husband Brad of Littleton, Colo.; his second family, Bronson Rumsey and family of Brimfield, Ill.; and four grandchildren, Russell Gene, Andrea, Justin and Christopher. Mrs. Stone died peacefully at home on Saturday, March 10, 2007. Ethel Comer Stone was born Jan. 8, 1910, in Hereford to John and Lena Higgins Comer. At the age of 3 months, she moved with her family to Clovis, where she lived until moving to the Continental Retirement Center in Amarillo in 1998. Ethel graduated from Clovis High School and Hardin-Simmons University and taught school in New Mexico for five years at Pleasant Hill and Clovis before marrying Robert F. "Bob" Stone on Aug. 15, 1937. Ethel was a member of Central Baptist Church in Clovis, where she served for many years as director of an older children's Sunday school department and later as director of the senior adult department. She was a leader in the Women's Missionary Union and always had a heart for missions. She was a world traveler, often going on mission trips with her church. Her main purpose in life was to honor and glorify her Lord Jesus Christ by serving others. Ethel moved to Amarillo in 1998, where she lived at the Continental Retirement Center and joined First Baptist Church. She was a blessing and inspiration to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son-in-law, Stan Haynes: and a great-grandchild, Lauren Goar. Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Goar and husband John of Amarillo, Barbara Staley and husband Ron of Fort Worth and Beverly Haynes of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ed Comer of Albuquerque; and a sister, Wanda von Kohn and husband Ed of Fort Worth. Casket bearers will be her grandchildren, Mike Haynes, Robert Goar, Brent Pressley, Carol Minton, Carla Goar, Camille Cates, Jill Pressley and Melanie Stephens.
