Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Brandon was born Oct. 10, 1923, in Marquez. She was a charge nurse and retired as an LVN after many years. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, E.V "Botts" Perkins; two sons; and two grandsons. Survivors include four sons, Bill Perkins of Modesto, Calif., George Gibbs of Odessa and C.L. Perkins and Howard Perkins, both of Amarillo; four daughters, Dovie Dunham and Oleta Haskins, both of Amarillo, and Lena Hughes and Beth Hancock, both of Odessa; 30 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Army in Italy during World War II. Upon being discharged, Jack married his wife of 59 years, Juanita Manning on March 13, 1948, in Wheeler. He lived in Hansford County where he retired from Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Co. after 34 years. He moved to Amarillo in 1985. He was a member of South Georgia Baptist Church and the Son Shiner's Group as well as the Texas Twisters and Ye Ole Squares square dancing groups. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Kemper; a daughter, Lana King of Amarillo; a son, Lynn Kemper and wife Jeanie of Lubbock; two sisters, Bernice Jones of Elgin, Okla., Juanita McCullough of Laughlin, Nev., and Evelyn Aderholt of Fritch; four grandchildren, Jay Kemper of Lubbock, Kayla O'Connell of Abilene, Leah Mosier of Dallas and Laci Mosier of Amarillo; and a host of other family and friends. He graduated from Rochester High School in 1953 and attended Texas A&M in College Station. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany. He farmed for a number of years in the Hereford area. He was a truck driver owning his own truck and driving for Andrews Transport and Vernon Sauryer. He married Ruby Caroline Shelton Myles on June 5, 1989, in Canadian. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a stepson, James Lee Smith, in 1995. He retired from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and was in health care services administration for 32 years. He was a life member of the Medical Group Management Association and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. Wade Williams, a former Maxus Energy executive, passed away Tuesday morning at the age of 56 after battling cancer with unwavering faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. He will be buried in Union Cemetery close to his family's farm, where many of his special childhood memories were made. Wade served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from May 11, 1969, to Feb. 8, 1971. Wade was born in Freeport, and spent his youth in Lubbock, where he graduated from Coronado High School in 1968. After his military service, Wade completed a master's degree in mechanical engineering from Texas Tech University and continued his career for more than 25 years before retiring in 2005. Wade was a member of Conroe First Baptist Church, attended the Post Oak Vet Center and supported other veterans. He enjoyed spending time with family, gourmet cooking, woodworking, fishing, growing chili peppers, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and feeding the homeless. The family extends a special thanks to the Houston Cancer Clinic and the fifth-floor nurses of Hermann Memorial Hospital, The Woodlands. We would also like to send a special thanks to the staff at Odyssey House of Conroe.
