No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Collins was born Jan. 8, 1923, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Inez and Arthur E. Wymore. She married Ronald Leon Collins on Jan. 30, 1946. Ronald was a craftsman. Mrs. Collins had a witty sense of humor, was straightforward and caring, and always had time to listen to people. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 9, 1996; and a son, Robert L. Collins Survivors include a son, Ronnie Craig Collins of Amarillo; two daughters, Rhonda Stevenson and husband John of Amarillo and Linda Sue Dziekan and Starr of Allegan, Mich.; a sister, Marguerite Cratty of Ottumwa; a brother, Bud Wymore and wife Marian of Bloomington, Minn.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and her best friend, Nettie Glisson. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tullie Herring Tullie Herring, 100, of Amarillo died Monday, April 9, 2007. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Trinity Lutheran Church with Brian Hesse and David Schatte, pastors, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Herring was born Jan. 23, 1907, in Erath County to John and Alma Herring. He married Clara Lammert on Sept., 22, 1931, in Haskell County. She passed away in 1981. Tullie retired from Phillips Petroleum after 18 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Parish of Amarillo; two sons, Melvin Herring of Houston and Jerry Herring of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. On Aug. 13, 1955, he was married to Lillian Stovall. During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Army. Arkon, 81, died Tuesday, April 10, 2007. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Bond Memorial Chapel. Graveside services with military honors will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, Ky. Mr. Arkon had a career in the U.S. military for more than 20 years, serving in the Navy, as a command career counselor, the Army and the Air Force. He was a certified dental technician and owned his own dental laboratory for more than 25 years. Mr. Arkon was past master of Liberty Masonic Lodge No. 358 and a member of the Clown Unit of the Khiva Shrine Temple in Amarillo, Texas. He was the son of the late Antonio and Cordia Duffield Arkon. The family wishes to extend special thanks to caregiver Marsha Burleson, the staff of Summit Medical Center and the various home health care providers. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sally D. Arkon, on Dec. 17, 2003; and a sister, Marie Woods. Survivors include three sons, Chuck Arkon and wife Betty of Sparta, Steve Arkon and wife Wendy of Carthage and Don Arkon and wife Denise of Lebanon; a sister, Theanna "Jo" Greathouse of Point Pleasant, W. Arrangements are by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mike was born Dec. 14, 1950, in Blackwell, Okla., to Carl Edwin and Bonnie Maxey Ferguson. Mike's father was very involved working with the Rural Electric Co-op all his life and they moved to Mattoon, Ill., in 1962, where Mike grew up and graduated from high school in 1969. He received his degree in political science from Eastern Illinois University in 1973. He worked in the Secretary of State's office for a couple of years and then moved to Tulia to work for Swisher Electric Co-op in 1977. Mike married Linda Morris on Sept. 2, 1995, in Mattoon. Mike had three main loves: his wife Linda and family, his cars and skiing. He was a member of the Chevy Car Club of Amarillo, Twisters Ski Club in Lubbock and the National Chevy Nomad Club. He was also a member of the Lions Club for 30 years and had been on the Tulia Chamber of Commerce for the past 11 years. He was a lifelong United Methodist Church member. Survivors include his wife, Linda Ferguson; a stepdaughter, Lisa Michelle Eddington of Amarillo; two stepsons, Kenneth Wayne Barnett of Amarillo and Kevin Russell Barnett of Hampton, Ill.; a brother, Carl Stephen Ferguson of Mattoon; a sister, Dana Hall of Canton, Ga.; and a niece and nephew, Audra Louise Ferguson and Tyler Ross Ferguson, both of Mattoon. Graveside memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in McLean Cemetery. Arrangements are by Bailey-Ware Funeral Home. Mrs. Goodwyn was born May 14, 1930, in McLean to the late Johnnie and Birdie Fulbright Back. She went to McLean schools, then attended Abilene Christian College. After graduating in 1951, Dorothea moved to Dallas to teach school. She met and married Tom Goodwyn, beginning her lifetime career of homemaker and mother. In addition to rearing her own children, Dorothea welcomed their friends and many others into her family, especially Casey Keister Waterston and Tracie Cooper. She was unfailingly generous with everyone. She also provided care for her parents in her Dallas and McLean homes. Dorothea moved back home to McLean in 1993. She treasured visits from her family and her adoring grandchildren. Her beautiful and unique home showcased her creativity and hospitable spirit. She enjoyed organizing family gatherings, working in her garden and playing bridge with the Tuesday Bridge Club. Many McLean children eagerly anticipated each annual summer tennis camp she hosted. She maintained close ties with circles of friends in Dallas and always looked forward to their various adventures. Dorothea loved the Lord and worshipped with McLean Church of Christ. Her family wishes to thank all her special friends and family who provided care during her illness. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Ernie, Oran, Wayne and infant brother, Marvin Back.
