Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Laurence Cathedral, with the Rev. Gabriel Cardiel, OFM, officiating. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Llano East Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road. Mr. Baca was born April 23, 1923, in Puerto De Luna, N.M., to Emiterio and Lola Baca. He was a barber. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Baca. Survivors include his wife, Priscilla Baca; six children, Martha Reshetar and husband John of Wilmington, Del., Jerry Baca of Los Angeles, Earl Baca, Carolyn Thornton and Carol Fewell and husband Walt, all of Amarillo, and Danny Baca and wife Jayne of Fort Worth; five sisters; and a brother; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alfred Ochoa Gonzales Alfred Ochoa Gonzales, 72, of Amarillo died Wednesday, April 11, 2007. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mass will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in Blessed Sacrament Church with Monsignor Rex Nicholl officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Gonzales was born Jan. 9, 1935, in San Antonio to Griegorio and Candelaria Gonzales. He lived in Amarillo for more than 50 years and worked at Pantex as a forklift driver in transportation. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Lita; three daughters, Elvira Perez, Debbie Gonzales and Anita Gonzales, all of Amarillo; three stepdaughters, Andrea Cantu, Marie Alvarez and Frances Vargas, all of Amarillo; four stepsons, Henry Ponce and Jessie Carrasco, both of California, Richard Carrasco of Colorado and Joe David Villarreal of Amarillo; three sisters, Emma Ramirez, Anita Herrera and Carrie Galvan, all of San Antonio; 38 grandchildren, 65 great- grandchildren; and 41 great-great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Winnie Hambrick Testerman Winnie Hambrick Testerman, 83, of Amarillo died Wednesday, April 11, 2007, in Fort Worth. Mrs. Testerman was born in Malicoff. She was a longtime resident of Amarillo, and was a nurse at Amarillo Diagnostic Clinic for 21 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Testerman, Survivors include a brother, Whit Hambrick of Farmington, N.M.; Mearle Grubbs of Mansfield, Mildred Fuller of Amarillo and Faye Fuller of Midway, Ark.; three sons. Lonnie Applin of Keller, Charles Applin of Southampton, N.Y., and Jerry Applin of East Quogue, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great- grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Odessa Rogers Odessa Rogers, 88, of Amarillo died Wednesday, April 11, 2007. Hughes St. Odessa Rogers was born March 25, 1919, in Iola. She was reared and educated in Iola. She had been an Amarillo resident for more than 35 years, and was a faithful member of Jenkins Chapel Baptist Church for 17 years. Survivors include two granddaughters, Natalie Conedy of Las Vegas and Demetra Williams of Richmond, Calif.; two great-grandchildren, Jevin Smith and Jerrell Cook, both of Las Vegas; and two great-great-grandchildren, Ayani Smith and Jayna Smith, both of Las Vegas. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nancy Jane Caldwell French Nancy Jane Caldwell French, 82, of Amarillo died Thursday, April 12, 2007. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Littlefield Memorial Park Cemetery in Littlefield. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Westminster Presbyterian Church in Amarillo with the Rev. Jeff Conway officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Nancy was born Jan. 23, 1925, to James E. and Susie Caldwell in Fort Worth. Her parents moved their family to Amarillo when Nancy was a baby. She graduated from Amarillo High in 1942, and graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in Spanish in 1946. Nancy married Daniel French on July 31, 1948. They lived in Lubbock and Amarillo, moving to Littlefield in 1953. She taught for 20 years in Littlefield public schools. During those years she taught sixth grade and later Spanish and history at Littlefield Jr. High and High School. She received her master's degree in counseling in May 1977 from Texas Tech. She moved to Irving in 1979 for a short time and taught at Nimitz High School. She then moved back to Amarillo and was a secretary at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church before returning to Littlefield in 1983 to become counselor at Littlefield High School. She then moved in 1989 to Las Cruces, N.M., and made her home there for 16 years before returning to Amarillo in September 2005. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Nancy was the first female elder ordained in First Presbyterian Church in Littlefield, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also an elder at First Presbyterian Church in Las Cruces, where she taught Sunday school and served for a long time on a grief and counseling committee. She truly loved the Lord Jesus Christ and her family. She also relished traveling with friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel French, in May 1973. Survivors include three daughters, Linda French of Fort Worth, Marsha Topley and husband Harry of Las Cruces and Carol Rohane and husband Jerry of Amarillo; a sister, Betty Chase of Amarillo; a sister-in-law, Virginia Smoot and husband Bill of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Daniel and Jennifier Topley of Albuquerque, N.M., Jennifer Topley of San Diego, Darla Topley of Las Cruces, Kyle Rohane of Fort Worth and Quinn Rohane of Annapolis, Md. John Santos Tobar was born Dec. 6, 1992, in Amarillo. He loved baseball, fishing and bowling, and was in a bowling league. His greatest love was the Dallas Cowboys and playing sports and video games with his brothers. He attended Canyon Junior High, where he was involved in the junior high choir. He loved his family very much. Celebration of life services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Wesley United Methodist Church in Hereford with the Rev. Jesse Hodge officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery in Hereford by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home of Hereford. Mrs. Brown was born Dec. 27, 1937, in Denton County, Texas, the daughter of Charles and Iva Riddle. She married Charlie Brown on June 8, 1957, in Hereford. Mrs. Brown had worked as a hairdresser in Hereford for more than 20 years and drove a school bus for the Hereford School District for more than 10 years. After she and her husband moved to Rio Rancho, Mrs. Brown worked for Crossroad Greenhouse in Albuquerque for more than 12 years. She was a member of Hereford Eastern Star and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by three brothers. Survivors include her husband, Charlie; a son, Shad Brown and wife Tammy of Amarillo, Texas; a daughter, Desiree Bookout of Los Alamos; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She had been a resident of Breckenridge for the past five years. Rhonda loved to cook, bake, quilt, paint, do crafts and garden in her flower beds. She was a Baptist church member. She was preceded in death by her father, Norrell "Doc" Perkins, on Feb. 2, 2005. Survivors include two daughters, Dawn Skala of Leadville, Colo., and Morgan Keith of Sunray; her mother, Sue Perkins of Sunray; a brother, Mike Perkins and wife Sherri of Sunray; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Bill Epps was born Aug. 23, 1933, in Greenville to Lee and Rena Epps, and went to be with the Lord on April, 11, 2007, with his loving family at his side. Bill attended school in Paris, Texas, graduated from Pampa High School and received his B.S. in physical education and his master's of education from West Texas State College. Bill started his teaching career in 1954 in LeFors and James Bowie Junior High in Amarillo, and in April 1959 he became director of Kids, Inc. for three years. He then entered the life insurance business in 1962 and attained life membership of the Million Dollar Round Table. Bill was past president of the Palo Duro Chapter of the American Business Club and enjoyed playing golf and fishing. He was very active and a charter member of Sun Country Chapel in Whitney. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Jeri Epps; three children, Deana Schneider and husband Mark of Centennial, Colo., Karen Durst and husband Dave of Reno, Nev., and Richard Epps of Amarillo; two stepchildren, Billy Norrell and wife Dana of Amarillo and Barry Norrell of Granite Shoals; a brother, Martin L. Epps and wife Melba; a sister, Doris Quinn and husband Mike of Irving; eight grandsons; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson.
